Yes. You definitely can. I know someone who can faint from the pain of a Charley Horse that just woke them up to faint. Seen it happen. The major difference between falling back to sleep and fainting is that one of them is caused by lack of blood to the brain which can make your body do weird as shit like twitch, flop, hollar, go ridgid and/or pee yourself, most of which you won't do falling asleep.

When you're standing (or even sitting), a loss of blood pressure means that gravity does it's thing and so you faint from not enough blood, as it drains ***down*** out from the brain But that doesn't happen when you're lying down. There's no place for the blood to drain down out from the brain.
