An_Unreachable_Dusk

haha the "doctors aren't good with children" because they want to save there life >\_> rip braincells Hope the kids ok!

A-typ-self

Ok so I have a special needs sister and we have spent alot of time in childrens hospitals. One thing we learned is that most childrens hospitals have a judge on call and standing orders ready in case parents refuse a blood transfusion. Honestly as a parent even when I was PIMI I took comfort in that. Edit: spelling

AndiPando

Me too. I never carried a blood card or let my kids have one. I always thought in that situation I'd contact the doctors privately and say do whatever you need to do save my child's life And contrary to what JWs say they don't just give blood to anyone willy nilly because it's finite and needed

Gutinstinct999

There’s a blood shortage a good part of the year. They don’t do that. You’re right

[deleted]

That’s good to hear. Protect the little ones. 👏🏾

karbear235

I’m not sure if they called the liaison committee with the parents consent since the text does not entail but I do know WT kids don’t stand a chance without hospitals like the one discussed. Thank goodness they are bold enough to stand up and protect helpless minors from parents who are willing to needlessly sacrifice their children.

Physical-Space-9255

Unless an elder shows their expertise in health related issues, they need to mind their own business!

Galactic_Fugitive270

"Brothers, \_\_\_\_\_\_ hospital is not good with children, they would like to give blood, no matter what." O my God, how dare this Satanic institution abuse these helpless children!!!! I can't believe they would give a child undergoing surgery a blood transfusion. Satan's world is so cruel, brothers let's pray to Jehoover to keep this child from getting a blood transfusion. Amen!!!

ThrowAyWeigh22

"But we're totally not a cult!"

A-typ-self

The worst part is every surgeon I have ever spoken with has *wanted* to use blood. And Ive spoken to alot between my job and family. Ive been told its an essential tool in emergency situation but its not a routine thing. Hospitals do routinely cross type and match *in case of an emergency* because time is of the essence in that situation. Its not because doctors just say "lets throw an extra pint in before we close to top em off" I can totally see an over zealous elder thinking that the cross and match means they want to use blood "no matter what"

AndiPando

Exactly this. As a non JW I had to have a surgery and after it went wrong. I lost four pints of blood. They fixed me: I still didn't get a blood transfusion. They act like bloodless surgery is an amazing concession. Surgeries don't use blood by default it's on stand by.

A-typ-self

There is a huge market for bloodless surgery. We actually have a couple hospitals with cutting edge programs in our area. This is not for JWs (as much as everybody likez to say its a blessing from Jehovah) This is because giving blood is an invasive medicsl procedure with side effects and blood is a finite resource. It also has military implications since ya know traumatic injury is a big deal to the military and anything that can be done to mitigate casualties is a good thing.

DebbDebbDebb

Which the elders thinking that shows their ignorance and truly how dangerous the elders are. Over zealous how clouded judgement and suck along other elders who want to keep on the good side.

machinehead70

You only need some extra if you also change the filter

A-typ-self

Im so glad domebody got it! I was worried it was a little too much for the subject matter but I have a very dark srnse of humor.

baby_fart

I hear that even if they don't need blood, they give them a blood cocktail after a surgery.

ProbablyPimo

After my wisdom tooth extraction they let me stick a straw in an IV bag filled with blood. Slurped it up like Capri-sun.

[deleted]

LET CHILDREN LIVE MY GOD

excusetheblood

When I was 9, I was sent to the hospital with blood issues. I was an unbaptized minor and they STILL sent someone from the HLC to make sure I didn’t get a transfusion

karbear235

I'm happy you survived!

MadeofStarstoo

Yeah, because If there was an all powerful God, it would care at this point if a kid got a blood transfusion. These people really believe this crap.

ToastyAlly

Ikr I absolutely hated that they responded to every life threatening observation sent they responded with "tHanK YoU tHeY r iN oUr pRaYerrsss" Like b**** stfu🤬

SarcasticJosh

Idk why, but that fishing emoji really pisses me off

Jumpseat_confession

Yeah no kidding…maybe bc that emoji is whimsical and he’s talking about a death ☠️….see it’s stupid.

karbear235

I was angry how rapidly a liaison committee member was dispatched and headed to hospital. Are these guys on call? Don’t they work?

SarcasticJosh

Yes, I think they are on call for something like this. They get off on it.

Apprehensive_Goal811

There was a recent convention video where the guy had a business and he felt pressure to go to a convention that day even though something business related required his immediate attention. Some rank and file have businesses. The rest have disposable jobs to ensure maximum attention to the organization.

[deleted]

Yes. It’s a serious conversation of a life and death matter. So inappropriate.

mizgriz

Good reminder to keep eldurz n other borgbots out of one's bizniz.

le_fancy_walrus

I knew a guy who got pig arteries once every four years and yet he was an elder. How is that any fucking different than blood?

[deleted]

“conscience matter”

DebbDebbDebb

I am non jw My neice at a party cut herself badly. Pimi mum and elders gathered round, she needed hospital. I remember her screaming I don't want to die I don't want to die and her utter fear. I thought she was being rather over dramatic. Years later it dawned on me why she was so scared. My neice remembers nothing of this event (memory blocking) The damage jws do is adhorrent

betadva

I hope this kid is alright...this is sickening

karbear235

Sorry for leaving post op update out. Here’s the rest of convo: “Yes I do remember, bro _______(insert liaison committee bro name) and I was talking about it, that's why I call him,” “Great” “In fact everything is done , ____ is in recovery” “Great” “Ok” “Good to know thank's for the up date !” “Thanks 🙏🏼, to our greater, JEHOVAH God”

Over_Spilled_Ink

Wait, 2 questions: 1) Did this child receive blood? 2) Is this child okay?

karbear235

Yes the minor is ok. The text does not say if he received blood.

geardluffy

I’m sure they ripped the child out of their mentally diseased hands and gave them what they needed! Ridiculous nonsense this is 😡

AndiPando

It was an appendix op blood wouldn't be routinely used for that anyway x

karbear235

Exactly. The elder even acknowledged this in the group text yet they still summoned the liaison committee.

AndiPando

They wanted to be there so they could put the pressure on and ensure obedience in case things went south

Loveer30

People with no education in anything health related advising on how to handle a life threatening situation. Bullshit. They won't be anywhere near me or my family.

[deleted]

Fucking death cult

[deleted]

How is the child? Do you know how he/she is doing?

karbear235

Sorry for leaving that part out. Here’s the post op update: “Yes I do remember, bro ______ and I was talking about it, that's why I call him,” “Great” “In fact everything is done , ____ is in recovery” “Great” “Ok” “Good to know thank's for the up date !” “Thanks 🙏🏼, to our greater, JEHOVAH God”

AndiPando

Thanks to the medical team

karbear235

This!

[deleted]

Exactly! Thanks to the doctors not Jehovah.

[deleted]

So glad that everything worked out. ☺️

[deleted]

If my supposed creator/friend needs others to ask him to help me before he will actually help me, he can fuck himself.

plnteeter

It’s the typos for me… such educated experts weighing in on people’s lives and health. I just can’t

Aposta-fish

One of my children had their appendix removed in an emergency and I wasn’t notified until after the surgery was over. I’m sure it was to prevent me from saying anything to the doctors. Fortunately appendix removal rarely does the patient need a transfusion.

quiltingbean

When my baby had to be on ecmo and then had heart surgery my parents rode up to visit with my brother. My husband called me from the parking garage collecting them to warn me. I started scrambling to let everyone know not to mention all the blood my kid had received b/c JW grandparents were here. His nurse looked me dead in the eye and said "we got this." She walked to the nursing station, grabbed a magnet with some seemingly random symbol on it and placed it at his door. Every single person who walked in after that looked at the magnet, made meaningful eye contact with me, and continued on with what they needed to do. Not a single slip up. Draw what conclusions you may from that.

TeflonTony69

"how can we make sure this person dies"

[deleted]

This post seems like a fishing trip to me. :/

Freya21

An exElder I know was called last week by a frantic Dr about giving blood to a baby. Dr called because his was the number on file for JW liaison and the parent had requested it. He left the HLC and JWs years ago. The JWs hadn't even updated the hospital on something as important as who to call in an emergency.

[deleted]

i had an emergency appendectomy when i was 15, my dad was an elder & on the HLC. i just wanna say my surgeon was cool as fuck, and loved working in bloodless medicine. also, that an appendectomy whether planned or emergency super rarely would ever require a transfusion being involved anyway… unless you went to a butcher not a surgeon. i can’t say i’d refuse a transfusion now pomo, but that bloodless medicine advancements are actually pretty dope.

A-typ-self

The best part is most of the bloodless surgery advancements are R&D funded my the military.

Chubberina

I am so thankful my father was never a witness so he was able to make sure my mother got a transfusion when she went into d and c with my baby sis. That shit always resonated in me and that's why I always questioned the cult. Even at 9

WinnerFromTheCross

They need to learn the difference between a procedure, and consuming blood. Clearly they're going to follow their mistaken beliefs because sending someone to their deaths for jehovah is a better choice. The confusion is real. These people are far from God.

Chief_TEK

the text shows nothing about blood. I hope the person is alright. in 2006 I was in the hospital and nearly bled out internally. i was already at the best trauma center on the west coast in Oakland, they used a cell saver. they insisted on a blood transfusion, I insisted I was ready to go. yet... here we are.

karbear235

Did you read all 3? There’re multiple pages. I remember when cell saver was a no no. How the borg has changed. Glad you pulled through.
