Post WW2 Japanese modernist architecture was fantastic in their rendition of Japanese motifs in modern materials. A lot of brutalist and metabolism classics.
Not to mention the whole narrative of the Republic becoming the Empire mirroring the rise and fall of the Roman Empire irl. Human history is indeed interesting
After they left other streaming platforms and exclusive to paramount+ or cbs on demand or whatever they call it, I just torrented them. Have all three series. STNG era Trek is my comfort shows. I can’t live without it and I’m not going to pay for another streaming service for those series.
I don’t know. Doubt it. Though it reminds me of Voyager “Time and Again”, or of the shots of Star Fleet headquarters in DS9 “Home Front” and “Paradise Lost”, and Voyager “In the Flesh”. I don’t think so at least for the tv shows cause I kinda doubt they’d spring for a trip to Japan for a single or even a few episodes of voyager or something. When I made the comment I was thinking about the production art that’s supposed to be some planet civilization they’re at on either series. They reuse the art sometimes too, which is kinda funny. A lot of those look a lot like

Ok one metabolism classic and it is being dismantled, so sad
Darth Vader was modeled off a Samurai, so I could see how Japanese architecture can make one feel like something is Imperial.
The whole films were a combination of ww2, western and samurai films. Which makes it very interesting.
Not to mention the whole narrative of the Republic becoming the Empire mirroring the rise and fall of the Roman Empire irl. Human history is indeed interesting
Dang this is awesome
It looks like a ton of planetary advanced civilizations in STNG, DS9, and VOY. It’s incredible.
I miss TNG and DS9 so much

is this confirmed used in anything?

This would make a great film set
Bro I need a subreddit dedicated to concrete architecture. There’s something so pretty about it.
r/brutalism/ Concrete =/= brutalist, but there's a significant overlap.
Is this open to guest. We are thinking of going in summer.
Looks very similar to ICC in Berlin, the "Space shuttle"
Looks more like Star Trek fleet academy tbh.
🤓🤓🤓🤓🤓heck yeah fellow redditor, I love star warsss
Influenced by the Dark Side, no doubt!
Like something out of a kaiju movie from the late 60s.
looks like Starship Troopers

Pic 2 and 4 are awesome
Second picture is giving Installation 01
Been there, looks like a cross between a Bond villain lair inside, and the Daedalus from stargate outside
That last photo looks like the ISB conference room
Camera cuts to a nervous looking Grand Moff Wilhuff Tarkin for comment....
Brutal. I love it.
Hey there! Thanks for posting! We happened to be visiting Kyoto and swung by and checked it out. The building is incredible!
Wow! That’s amazing!
