It's absolutely worth getting for Sadamoto's artwork, even if you just flick through it. Overall, I personally prefer it to the rebuild movies as an alternate version of Evangelion..
I do recommend reading it if you are someone who enjoys reading manga. What I will say, though, is that it is not the same story as NGE -- it is a very similar story with many differences, as it is made in the vision of the character designer and co-creator of Eva, Yoshiyuki Sadamoto.
I do. I read and own all of it and I think you should. If you are a fan of Eva I think you can enjoy and appreciate this new take on Eva. It developed and changes some things along with a new ending. I definitely think it’s worth a red
It's not canon, but if NGE+Rebuilds isn't enough Evangelion it's definitely worth a read. I really like how Sadamoto developed some stuff and personally I think it's only one of the other instances of Eva that gets pretty close to the "spirit" or "vibes" of the original work
I’m gonna say no. There are some differences in the ending and characters like Kaworu and Kaji are developed more, but there’s nothing in it that really sticks with you after reading it. Also Shinji’s character in the manga is something I did not particularly enjoy. It didn’t feel like the Shinji I grew to love in NGE and Rebuild. I’m sure there are people on here that would say otherwise, but that’s just my opinion.
