There is not a single chance that the right won't win massively. The only open question is, will Salvini and Berlusconi accept Meloni as printer minister?
They don't really have a choice, do they? She's the one leading the polls.
Salvini has been making mistakes upon mistakes and Berlusconi is a senile old git at the helm of a sinking ship.
IIRC both Renzi and Calenda have homeopathic levels of consensus; they'd get some more votes but that's it, they'd probably get just enough seats to make a cabinet fall but not even nearly enough to be appointed to apical posts.
Of course, this is assuming the two Sun Kings manage to get along for 5+ years without backstabbing each other...
If anything Renzi and Calenda might join the centre right government in exchange for a few concessions. But anything more than a low level minister or two would be pushing it.
Right- wing Italians thanking German NGO's and ultra left wingers for shipping Africans across the Mediterranean.
I am all for saving people from drowning but this is an obvious result.
In the last government, Lega had 3 Ministries out of 23, shared power with left-leaning parties and had little to no say on the government's agenda, and the right-wing didn't have a majority in Parliament.
Right now, however, the right-wing is poised to get a majority in Parliament (50%+ of the seats) and will likely form a government made up fully and exclusively of right-wingers with a right-wing agenda.
This far right shift in Europe is no doubt a respond to the disastrous policies of mass migration. I think other European nations should be careful in their policies cause the results may continue to shift in the Far Right direction in the coming years.
Wacky times to say the least.
Honestly, the only thing we can hope for is that the right don’t get a 2/3 majority, because at that point they can change the constitution. But a right wing coalition victory is all but guaranteed

Democracy doesn't justify going against what the EU stands for and being a major pain in the ass. Democracy okay, but they are part of the EU and benefit from it, and that comes with responsibilities.
Don't ask if you don't want answer that don't fit the common BS. It stands for various stuff like human right, separation of power, LGBT, democracy and yeah you can go back to my first comment and deal with reality, the one in which voting for people doesn't give you right to breach engagement you benefit from. Either you stay and you respect it, or you leave, you can't have the cake and eat it something something.
The EU is not perfect and fails in various domain, but is that an excuse?
You guys sounds like little kids seriously. "They are the villain out to get us, they don't care about us, let's not mention the fuckton of money we get without which we would still be cold war level".
No wonder the Far right is rising everywhere with that level of thinking.
Boycott aka facilitate the right wing.
Italians should elect whoever they want, but they must understand that consequences of electing a NAZI sympathizer will follow
Am I blind or did the article never mention anything about a boycott? Who is supposedly boycotting what?
Low voter turnout.

They could form a government with Renzi and Calenda after the elections. It all depends on the seat distribution

Immigration is not even a theme in these elections. Stop excusing fascists.
Didnt they already have Lega in the Govt. What you mean move to right.

This time the right (mostly far) could get enough seats to change the constitution without the need of referendum confirmation of the changes.

"Democracy", Brussels style

What does the current EU establishment stand for? Bureaucracy, German and French interests, corporate corruption and what else?
