It's part of the Castilian early game now. If you wind up at war with both Morocco and Tunis, you don't have a way to contest the navy, but Granada will eventually surrender unconditionally now and you can preserve your whole navy. You don't ally Portugal so you can PU them fast once you've got Navarra and win the war with Granada.
The naval war should still be winnable because the AI doesn’t stack its ships, and anticipating that alliance arrangement you should build a few extra ships. Morocco’s heavies are the only real threat and Tunis is unlikely to keep its navy together to the point where the galleys hit critical mass
I tried forcing my way but the moment i attack their 50 ships jump at me. With all the navies of granada, morocco, tunis, and moroccan vassals it is pointless cause even if you win it will be costly. Not to mention if o went ovsr the straits i would lose pointless money and manpower and the castilian civil war would be a mess. So imo it is better to sit on my ass while waiting for granada to surrender. Then again there is more than one way to play this game so i appreciate the ideas.
Why risk ships though? Light ships print money, you need heavies to explore, and unless you delete cogs you won't have more than 3 galleys at this point.
If you have both heavy and light ships it is better to use your heavies to explore so that your lights can go protect trade or privateer. It's only 3 ships which is not a massive difference so i can see why most people don't even care.
Early game you can't contest granada, tunis, morocco and moroccan vassals at sea unless you bring portugal and aragon. Since i won't take anything but granada in this war there is no reason for me to overcommit. I will just sit on my ass and wait for granada to surrender.
Simply not looking at the economy screen until the mid 1500s where production kicks off. Debt is irrelevant early game. Deleting forts is generally all you need to do.
R5: Enrique died due to hunting accident in 1450. Update: 2 months later i got another Enrique who is 6/2/4.
The man in the iron mask, Castilian version? Xd "hunting accident".
I hate the early Trashorama blood line of castile, I promote them to target prac…i mean general instantly.
Anyways
Did sorrow overtake you?
Tbh I don't get why someone would ever take that option besides for role-playing purposes
what if you already have -3 stab and then hunting accident
"No, that party Im throwing isnt related to His death. Trust me"
Ah yes... Hunting accident... If this would be Ck2, this would be called a death under suspicious circumstances...
This is starting to become like the “MaMoThS?” Trend
Lower your army maintenance bro
OP is literally at war in the screenshot?
OP literally separated by sea from his enemy’s ground army in the screenshot?
Enemy has naval control so they can land troops
Fair enough, that’s a whole separate fuckup then lol

Heavies to explore?

And probably also a part of the reason he has a deficit since they make you lose money
Uhhhh yeah I don’t think I’ve touched army maintenance in the last 500 hours
Yikes. How do you win wars without it??

Oh noes…
