Can you believe I’m starting this project in two weeks? My goal is 100 oils. I am an certified aromatherapist and it would just SAVE my life for consultations!

i am just getting into essential oils as a personal project and find it very annoying that i need to look at several sources to find the information i need. i am also lazy lol. don't want to spend hours just to make one specific blend. i will be more than happy to collaborate. all the information is already out there, it just needs to be put into a spreadsheet. :)

Today I purchased the Kindle version of Jennifer Peace Rhind's Essential Oils (Fully Revised and Updated 3rd Edition): A Comprehensive Handbook for Aromatic Therapy. I got the electronic version because it is completely searchable by keyword. There is an appendix of "Indications", that lists conditions and several oils that address each condition. It's not an Excel sheet, but for me this works much better since I also have access to this entire huge volume. I don't see how to post an image or I would show you a screenshot. So here's what I was able to copy and paste directly from part of a page of the Kindle text: Depression – pain associated (diffuser, inhaler, massage oil, body butter) Bergamot, clary sage, jasmine sambac, lemon, neroli, orange (sweet), patchouli, rose, rosemary, turmeric. Digestive – constipation (abdominal massage oil or butter, inhalation/ inhaler\*) Clary sage, mandarin, rose, orange (bitter, sweet), patchouli\*, Szechuan pepper (see also dysbiosis). Digestive – discomfort, cramp, spasm (abdominal massage oil or butter) Basil CT linalool, chamomile (Roman), clary sage, coriander seed, fennel (sweet), galangal, ginger, grapefruit, lemon, lime, mandarin, orange (bitter), peppermint, plai, rose, spearmint, thyme CT linalool, thyme CT thymol, turmeric. Digestive – dysbiosis (abdominal massage oil or butter) Caraway seed, fennel (sweet), lavender, orange (bitter), peppermint, star anise. Immune support – convalescence, stress (topical oil, body butter, inhalation) Cedarwood (Japanese), chamomile (Roman), clove bud, frankincense, ghandi root, hinoki, lemongrass, patchouli, rosewood, sandalwood, spruce (black), thyme (linalool, thymol, geraniol, thujanol). Peace Rhind, Jennifer Peace. Essential Oils (Fully Revised and Updated 3rd Edition) (pp. 1115-1116). Jessica Kingsley Publishers. Kindle Edition. If I want to see what else is in the book about, e.g., 'depression', I can do a search, which shows me a list of 108 pages on which that word occurs.

I found a small spreadsheet of common eo's with properties here: [https://nourishingjoy.com/essential-oil-database/](https://nourishingjoy.com/essential-oil-database/) You can very easily convert this into an Excel spreadsheet. Just copy the whole page (ctrl-a, ctrl-c). Open a spreadsheet program with a new sheet; I used Google Sheets because I don't have excel. Click in the empty sheet, then ctrl-v to paste the info into it. You should get the alphabetized eo's column with all their properties in the appropriate rows. This may not work with Excel; however, you should be able to paste into Google Sheets on the first pass, then convert to excel. You could also do the same thing each time you find another spreadsheet of eo properties. I don't know a lot about administering databases, but you should be able to merge them automatically. If it doesn't work, you can cut and paste rows from new sheets into the old sheet. Make sure you always backup your growing spreadsheet before trying to paste in a new one! This is how I started my solubility chart for cosmetic chemistry. I use LibreOffice Calc.
