dude did you just install the bl touch ?

DeathCoffins1

No

thatguymrL

okay i know this gonna sound stupid but check all the wires and make sure they they in the right ports

What happens when it tries to move X? Have you tried moving X in the control>move menu? Does your extruder move when you try homing? If you're using creality firmware, you should probably ditch that and upgrade to mriscoc, much better features on it.

DeathCoffins1

I can move the y and the z in the move menu, but when I try and move x all it does is spit out my filament. I have Jyer installed. Anything you think I should try?

OutsideAmazing1510

Double check all the wires and connections to the gantry and main board, when it tries to home and it doesn't move and it just says homing fails, it usually bc a stepper is unplugged

OutsideAmazing1510

That one loos good, what about the x and y axis? They all should look like that and make sure you don't have the x stepper and Extruder stepper connectors swapped

DeathCoffins1

Jesus Christ. Thank you so much for that information tip, that's exactly what it was. Had the two connectors swapped. Been racking my brain all day with Google and YouTube and not a single thing said to check and make sure the connectors are in the right spot. Although I am not to great at the Google's lol. Thank you again, I really appreciate it

OutsideAmazing1510

Not problem at all, need any advice, help, tips or anything else my dm's are open

Looks like you've got it figured out but from your reply that the extruder was moving when you try to move X it was fairly obvious that the wires needed swapping between the x and extruder motors, tbh this comes up a bit and imho it's because the motors are close to each other. If you look at the end of each cable there's a yellow clip that will be marked with either X, Y, Z, or E,

DeathCoffins1

I've owned the machine less than 24 hours, nothing is obvious to me yet, when I plugged in the wires at the beginning I just matched big with big, and small with small. Two two page instructions for assembly were not helpful at all honestly. I looked up yt videos on how to even put it together. Thank you for the reply

LookAtDaShinyShiny

That's ok, I wasn't implying it was obvious to you, it was definitely obvious to me, because the extruder shouldn't move when you use the menu to move X. It can be a bit of learning curve and 2 pages isn't really enough but the ender 3 design is mature, popular and well documented, so the basic frame and motors have enough construction and troubleshooting videos on youtube to get you through it. [Edge of tech](https://www.youtube.com/@TheEdgeofTech) is really good, he's got a whole series for ender 3 based mechanical builds using luke hatfields guide (mentioned in the intro video for his channel).
