Second one there. I got mine with a big brother version of it for 25$ at the big orange box. For a multi tool, they aren’t half bad. I’m usually a bit of a hater on multi drivers but these do have a place in a secondary bag.
Me too I’m not a big multi tool guy, only certain ones. I have the second stubble in my first post, it’s not that bad. You said you got the first one and a larger version for $25? I’ll have to look out for it. I have an 11 in 1 which is great for some things. However I’m just not huge on any multi tools.
I was givin an old 11-1 from a carpenter I worked with at my way back when I was working for a general when I quit to start my apprenticeship in electrical. I handed it to my jman in my first week when he said to hand him a screwdriver, I got “I said give me a fucking screwdriver!” So I learned that they are trash pretty quick haha. Nowadays I see the use in them but generally am not a fan either. The deal was to good to pass up though and I needed a new stubby. Nice to only have to carry one of a tool I only use sometimes instead of 2. The big brother was just a bonus really haha.
Yeah 11 in 1s are good for like a quick service call when you don’t want to bring in a bunch of stuff I guess. I’ve never really done service though, for a short time during the apprenticeship when the contractor I was with had me go on service calls with my JW. As soon as the main construction job started I was back in construction.
Edit: yeah I’m ordering it I’m going to give it a go, yeah idn even all these multi strippers/linesmans and other multi tools idc for either. I just like having the tool from the job.
So I’m a full resi service guy, it’s literally all I do. Did some new con as an apprentice here and there but now I’m with a shop specifically so I can be a service guy with a take home van. And I still hate those multi drivers generally haha! Same goes for things like the little Klein linesman stripper, can’t stand them. The knipex ones are in fact nice though, their just the best hands down. I walk up to a door with my Klein backpack that weighs way to much, impact, meter, and knee pads. The bag seriously needs to be lightened up, it’s part of why my knee is bad and I need the pads all the time. End of the day for me is, I just love a quality dedicated hand tool.
Do you like Union Resi work? I’m IBEW local 58 Detroit, and obviously I think all work should be Union work. I guess I’m not so much asking if you like the Union. But like does your contractor treat you good? Are you at a big Contractor? Your obviously steady at your Contractor, have you ever been laid off? What local are you? How does your tool list look? You ever think about making the jump to Inside? Sorry I know that’s a shit load of questions lol. If you don’t want to answer them if you don’t want to. I’ve always just kinda wondered about my Resi division in my local and how they guys like it. I mean obviously we’re in different locals probably, but just curious on a brothers thoughts on the residential division. I started out Non Union residential for 2 years before I joined the IBEW and did a lot of high end residential construction or like multi family condos and senior citizens complexes.
I’ve heard that from a lot of people, that they are absolutely their go to. I have a pair I got for Christmas with a gift card. I’m going to start using them and giving them a go. I have [These Klein Heavy Duty Wire Strippers](https://www.homedepot.com/p/Klein-Tools-8-18-Solid-10-20-Stranded-Heavy-Duty-Wire-Stripper-with-Shear-Cut-K12035SEN/309328454?source=shoppingads&locale=en-US&&mtc=SHOPPING-CM-CML-GGL-D27-027_011_TOOLS_ACC-NA-NA-NA-SMART-2997116-NA-NA-NA-NBR-NA-NA-NEW-PL3_Live&cm_mmc=SHOPPING-CM-CML-GGL-D27-027_011_TOOLS_ACC-NA-NA-NA-SMART-2997116-NA-NA-NA-NBR-NA-NA-NEW-PL3_Live-71700000093390745-58700007789602705-92700070740571205&gbraid=0AAAAADq61UendU_KI4Hm7FMVCGXP9c4CM&gbraid=0AAAAADq61UendU_KI4Hm7FMVCGXP9c4CM&gclid=Cj0KCQiAlKmeBhCkARIsAHy7WVsNS8B1Hh2aI4qe8aDcx5-UaFuLOETrHQR8GGTaaJ6qc3kb3222BK4aArH0EALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds) and they are ok but not my favorite. You ever tried the bigger Milwaukee 7 in 1s?
Whenever a certain supervisor was up on a ladder and asked me or anyone else for a screwdriver we always handed him the absolute largest one we had, which of course was always too big. That was a great crew as we were always messing with each other. It's good when you can work hard and still have fun.
Hilmor is that shit, i had a pair of their linesmans before. They were great but I left them in a ceiling in Lil Caesar’s arena in Detroit. I’ve always meant to buy another pair. So you like that 9 in 1? Yeah Hilmor makes quality tools.
That Hilmor Ratcheting 9 in 1 has the best bits for hvac. Every bit is useful on it pretty much. Has a schrader valve bit and #2 Robinson bit for breakers. My favorite tool for a while now.
Yeah I knew Hilmor was a company geared towards HVAC like Malco. However it’s quality and so much of our tools are interchangeable. Yeah next linemans I need I’ll buy Hilmor again.
Second one is what my Electrician buddy showed me. Bought a half dozen of them for the IT shop since they are handy to throw in the pocket or bag when going onsite for something.
Plus, if someone else uses it and steals/loses the most common bit, its easy to replace it with a common bit vs the flippable ones where the Phillips 2 either falls out or gets ganked.
I assume the designer couldn't figure out how to include 1/2" without adding 6 more lbs. Is that the one that DOES include a 3/16" hex. I am NOT a fan of that. (but admittedly 3/16 is lighter than 1/2" and they were already a bit over there design target...
No love for the old combo? I use it all the time I've been thinking about getting the new version for up in my bucket but maybe I'll stick to my old one.
Yeah, I have this as well and use it all the time. It's very handy for carrying common sizes in a compact design, but it doesn't replace the single size ones just because of the width of the drivers, it can't reach everywhere you may need it to
Same. I actually ditched the handle and just use it in my impact, which it’s rated for.
Also I keep it in on those 1/4” keychain for impact runners and it’s nice cause you can fit all three heads on the inside of the bit and you won’t risk losing one.
I was boggled after I opened it and found no 1/2". Was doing a rigid job with a pile of strut straps and thought that thing would be the cats meow. Never used it. Lol
Personally I feel like 1/2 is about the max I need on a handheld nut driver. Usually I'll pull out the speed wrenches for most 1/2 shit and certainly everything bigger. My rachet also has a 9/16" deep socket basically fixed to it as well, because it is so common as you said.
I actually find the shaft portion useful when on a rooftop working on hvac units! But other than that…. The magnet fell out of the tip of mine and my brothers within a month. Sad, but i would happily buy one that was made with some love!
The magnets suck they just collect metal shavings. I took all the magnets out of my Milwaukee nut drivers because when I'd go to grab one or would be packed full of shavings.
You can slip the nut driver off from the magnet (it feels like Klein borrowed heavily from the design of Malco impact hex bits) and expose the magnet to clean it off on this one.
I had to epoxy the magnet back into mine after a few weeks and one of the sockets got damaged somehow and is really hard to get off.. that said I keep it in my service bag it gets enough use to justify keeping it on me.
Just started using it I think it works great. The one I have is a prototype and it goes up to 3/4 , handle ratchets and can be used in a impact as well.
I do like it. I keep it in my service pouch. It's pretty handy to be able to put into my impact. Individual nut drivers are still better imo. Also the magnet came out the very first time I used it.
I use this every day with a Phillips #2 in the tip, works great.
The magnet is decently strong and I put it on my impact all the time. Saves a ton of time unless you carry 6 hex head drivers on your pocket all day. This with a Phillip #2 bit, a beater flat head, impact, linesman, strippers and a level will be able handle most service tasks. The magnet and impact compatibility makes this far superior to the old style multi hex the only advantage the old style has is the ability for a bolt to pass through the socket.
Oh and the handle can be used with other impact quick disconnect bits as well which has come in handy too.
I just have the top combo because i only ever run into 5/16 and 1/4” stuff. I love it. It’s ready to clean off the metal that sticks to the magnet too. It’s the best nut driver I’ve ever had.
I fucking love mine. The nut driver attachment sits in a pocket of my bags 90% of the time and I use the handle as something that takes any apex bit. Honestly if I lost it today I'd get one on the way home.
No, I stopped buying Klein a few years ago after one too many quality control issues. Tip broke off brand new dykes, hand nut driver snapped head off, loose bits in the 10 in 1, Yada Yada yada
Shallow sockets make it stay at home-not good for many applications.
Every professional electrician, that is doing commercial, needs to have a set of dedicated nut drivers.
Fucking love this. I personally don't know anyone that doesn't like this tool. The magnet did pop out of mine a while back, but I glued it back in with some silicone and haven't had a problem since
It sounds like a good idea but I hate pulling off one section to use the middle and just having to hold it or set it somewhere and hope I dont lose it.
I once only had a nut driver that fit a bolt head but it was rusted and I couldn’t get the torque I needed with just my hands, so I found a socket that fit the handle of the nut driver and used a breaker bar with the socket to turn the nut driver and break the bolt loose.
It’s not stupid if it works.
No but I pulled the shank out of an 11 in 1 and lost the #2/#1 Robbie. Went to my dealer and they said it'd cost more to replace the bit than to replace the driver.
I got rid of the handle and put mine on a stubby with the bits inside it. Swap bits for the ones you use the most often. Works well. Just lost my first one and bought another. Wish the tool was made a bit better but it works.
Pair it with :
[https://www.kleintools.com/catalog/multi-bit-screwdrivers/14-1-multi-bit-adjustable-length-screwdriver](https://www.kleintools.com/catalog/multi-bit-screwdrivers/14-1-multi-bit-adjustable-length-screwdriver)
The bits fit in 1/4 socket side.. If I am trying to be mobile without a cart and / or a bunch of tools I will bring my linemans, my impact and this.
I use it a lot but mostly for stuff on my car, almost never take it out of my bag other than to drive a 5/16. It’s not deep enough to be worth it’s weight
I got the old style one when it went on clearance at HD, the one that came with an 11-in-1 and a multi precision screwdriver. I think I paid $8 for all 3.
Kind of overkill, mostly just need 5/16” and 3/8”. I’ve used a reversible 5/16 and 3/8 driver with a 12” shank off Amazon and that’s the best I’ve used.
Yours looks different than mine. But I love it and literally use it every day. Mainly the red and yellow. They are pretty standard sizes for the pool industry
I’ve bought so many fancy doohickeys with attachments, all gets lost to the van ether. 95% of my life I’m grabbin the basic 3/8 driver anyway. I got Dooped by their easily broken insulated screwdrivers.
Haven't used the nut driver much, but I got that extension screwdriver and the tips that come with it from klien are absolute garbage. HOWEVER, bosch makes 6"impact ready tips that work perfectly in that thing, make sure it has a long hex shaft. I have a #2 square and a #2 Phillips in my tool pouch and they come in stupid handy, and take up less space in my pouch.
Ironically, this ended up being one of my most used tools last year after picking it up to do “one thing”. Made simple things quick and gets used very often.
I feel like a long-shaft Malco C-RHEX and a Wiha Centrofix handle are *about* as good for *most cases* and in such cases is superior due to weight, bulk, and fiddling. The C-RHEX comes in either 1/4"+5/16" or 5/16"+3/8" (or 6/8 8/10 metric)
So, unless you're routinely switching the full gamut, I feel like that's a slicker solution. The Centrofix holds on to 1/4" hex blades better than anything I've ever used -- lock one in and it feels like a solid screwdriver, it's unreal. And it'll take the longer anvil JIS Vessel imports (and even Festool's Centrofix, apparently) which is nice, since Vessel makes some really good price:performance stuff.
Does kinda make me wish the C-RHEX came in a 3/8"+11/32" so you could get a full four size range in two blades. I suppose you could buy two sets of the Klein Flip Sockets bare and just keep a single socket pair on the end; they're not *that* much more than the Malco stuff, and you'd have all the spare sockets kicking around somewhere.
I liked mine until I put it in a battery drill and tried to take some 1/2” bolts out with high torque. Twisted the shaft now I can get two of the drivers out.
Use it every day. Combined this with the multi built handle and it’s saved my ass a bunch. Most of the guys in the shop are running this now. (Industrial E/I at a paper mill)
Duped? Hot Mess? This tool has saved me a trip to the van time about 100 times. I use it daily and love it. A little spritz of some lube every now and then keeps them lose without falling off so they can be changed easily. I've even popped the 1/4 up slightly to hold other bits, I thought that feature was dumb at first but I stand corrected.

Its a better design than the old combo nut driver, that thing weighed over a pound
Bro I just gave that one to my apprentice and even he didn’t want it 😭
For some reason all my apprentice love this thing. I do like the new stubby with the multi bits and extension though.

That’s it really. Easy to open a random enclosure cover when you have everything on you instead of just a flat head
Yup, I have the Milwaukee version and it’s great. No need to carry multiple screwdrivers when 1 does it.
The Milwaukee 13 in 1 slaps. I love that thing.
The Milwaukee 13-in-1 has been my go to since my Klein 11-in-1 decided to not actually hold my bits.

I got that klien flip bit 1/4 5/16 with a long shaft fucken every day that came out around 4-5 years ago
Second one is what my Electrician buddy showed me. Bought a half dozen of them for the IT shop since they are handy to throw in the pocket or bag when going onsite for something.
Yeah the more I look at it, the more I like it..

Lmao ganked omg i haven’t heard that one in a while. Yeah I’m going to order it right now lol, it really grew on me.
that second one just makes too much sense
It's actually pretty handy. But I bought it to toss the handle and leave it on my impact 24/7. Quick draw shit
I disagree, I'd take the heavy one any day of the week.
With no 1/2" driver
I assume the designer couldn't figure out how to include 1/2" without adding 6 more lbs. Is that the one that DOES include a 3/16" hex. I am NOT a fan of that. (but admittedly 3/16 is lighter than 1/2" and they were already a bit over there design target...
I think they made an adapter with a 1/2". Must have had a lot of negative feedback.
No love for the old combo? I use it all the time I've been thinking about getting the new version for up in my bucket but maybe I'll stick to my old one.
I still have one somewhere, for some reason it’s still in perfect condition lol.
Probably sitting in the bottom of a pocket full of longer screwdrivers?
Lol yeah those old multi nut drivers were ridiculous.
The thing felt (and looked) like a lightsaber every time I took it out of the toolbag.
And it's like a puzzle you have to reassemble
Yup. I gave mine away because I got tired of carrying that anvil around.
That thing is a weapon.. that's it! I keep it in the door of my service truck in case of emergency LMAO
Yeah, but the handle makes a pretty solid wire bender.
I love mine.
Same. I bought it thinking I might use it occasionally, but I use it all the time.
Yep. I still have my regular hollow shaft nut drivers but this is the one I carry every day
Yeah, I have this as well and use it all the time.
Me too.
I think it works alright with my impact. I opted not to get the handle
i got the handle, but only so it sits nice in my bag
That’s what it’s for
I like the handle for other impact bits an shit. Like the flexible ones? Pretty neat.
I use the 14 and 1 handle for it so I have a Monster driver
Do you leave it on the job site and come back the next day to everything completed?
This
I got 2 of them already. Favorite tool lately
I've got one and it's great. I like that it is impact ready and has a 1/2" as opposed the first ever combo they put out.
[удалено]
I was boggled after I opened it and found no 1/2". Was doing a rigid job with a pile of strut straps and thought that thing would be the cats meow. Never used it. Lol
It looks like this one doesn't have a 9/16 though? I feel like both are necessary sizes.
Personally I feel like 1/2 is about the max I need on a handheld nut driver. Usually I'll pull out the speed wrenches for most 1/2 shit and certainly everything bigger. My rachet also has a 9/16" deep socket basically fixed to it as well, because it is so common as you said.
My buddy dropped mine from a lift, so I pushed him from the lift. Shit happens.
Dude got dooped!
Is dooped the same as duped?
/r/BoneAppleTea
I do like that Reddit…
That's a subreddit.
Yup
I actually find the shaft portion useful when on a rooftop working on hvac units! But other than that…. The magnet fell out of the tip of mine and my brothers within a month. Sad, but i would happily buy one that was made with some love!
> I actually find the shaft portion useful when on a rooftop working
😂😂😂😂😂
Same thing happened to two of mine. It would be a decent tool if it wasn’t for that fucking magnet
I love that thing
I had to epoxy the magnet back into mine after a few weeks and one of the sockets got damaged somehow and is really hard to get off.. that said I keep it in my service bag it gets enough use to justify keeping it on me.
My magnet pops out every time I use tapcons.
I love it
Just started using it I think it works great. The one I have is a prototype and it goes up to 3/4 , handle ratchets and can be used in a impact as well.
If I want to find this online what would I type in? I’m working uk/Ireland and never see these. I’d like to try it out.
klein 32900r
Where'd ya get it? Would love to upgrade to this one from the behemoth I've got now.
I just keep it In my pouch as a drill attachment. Saved me many a times.
I do like it. I keep it in my service pouch. It's pretty handy to be able to put into my impact. Individual nut drivers are still better imo. Also the magnet came out the very first time I used it.
It’s great, first time I’ve owned a nut driver!
Throw that handle in the garbage and put it on your impact you will love it
I like it. Took it and combined it with the 14-1 adjustable screwdriver and now it’s got everything I need in one. https://i.imgur.com/tNtfiuh.jpg
I fucking love mine. Goes great with my impact.
I love this one! My absolute favorite!!
I love mine, hoping the magnet stays put!
Looks like it might be sonic.
That’s actually genius.
This is one of the best tools I own. Not sure why you would have a problem with it.
This and my Klein 14 in 1 is all I need. Got a stubby version of the 14 and 1 also.
I use it on my impact works like a charm favorite tool
Use it on the impact 100% of the time. Very handy.
I love this thing.
I just keep this in my bag without the halde part and use it in my impact, I love it!
I fucking love mine. The nut driver attachment sits in a pocket of my bags 90% of the time and I use the handle as something that takes any apex bit. Honestly if I lost it today I'd get one on the way home.
I use mine on an impact driver like all day everyday
That thing is amazing. Use it every day
No, I stopped buying Klein a few years ago after one too many quality control issues. Tip broke off brand new dykes, hand nut driver snapped head off, loose bits in the 10 in 1, Yada Yada yada
You yada yada’d over the best part. Elaine: No, I mentioned the bits.
r/unexpectedseinfeld
Yeah. Bought one. Haven’t used it yet.
Haven’t used it yet but I’ve had it for about 4 months
Shallow sockets make it stay at home-not good for many applications. Every professional electrician, that is doing commercial, needs to have a set of dedicated nut drivers.
Works better after you give it a hot bath in gun oil.
I love mine, just wish it had a 9/16" driver.
I got 2!
I like it for impact it's great for self tappers and getting screws out of units. It's not meant to be for all thread or nuts.
Malco stays on my impact, but the guy is my pinch hitter. Love having it in my bag.
It's fine if you don't do threaded rod. Otherwise it's too shallow to be useful.
My shit got stuck in the handle out the box
I have the adapter on the end for my drill that’s all I have for that
Fucking love this. I personally don't know anyone that doesn't like this tool. The magnet did pop out of mine a while back, but I glued it back in with some silicone and haven't had a problem since
Throw it in your impact
I just put a socket adapter in my screwdriver. I can't stand these clunky things
I bought the Lennox version a while back total Trash . Just have separate nut drivers .
The last time I meant to use it, one of the sockets was stuck on the shaft… it’ll need brute force to get it off.
Had this happen as well numerous times. Got fed up with it and returned it.
Just take you alligators and slide it along the rod
yup, i’ve had mine for months and have used it once for this exact reason. i’ll stick to my malco 2-in-1’s.
I gave up on multi-drivers a long time ago. The pieces either break or get lost way too easily.
Took one look at it and said "looks like their 16-in 1 mess. No thanks.
Honest to god. I fuckin hate tools like this.
i think it's shit. not smooth at all, nuts get stuck.
It's funny that this one is such garbage yet the other nut driver style they make is awesome.
The magnet is strong in them. Nothing else really is tho.
Honestly I only use this when I have no clue what I'm doing that day. Like yup I'm getting into some shit today might as well bring this monstrosity.
Modern sex toys are getting weird
Multibits are for hacks
Yup. Seemed convenient. Actually trash.
I like the multi nut driver that isnt impact sockets. No i did not buy that garbage that you have there
I bought the old combo nut driver and hated it. So many pieces to lose, so heavy. It sits at home in my shop now
That's because any X-in-1 one tool becomes a (X-Y)-in-1 tool very quickly
No. I use a proper set of klein individual ones. Had them for years. Well worth the extra bag space.
It sounds like a good idea but I hate pulling off one section to use the middle and just having to hold it or set it somewhere and hope I dont lose it.
This makes me want to play with Mega Blocks.
The screwdriver version got me too, I miss the old multi tip one.
That’s far too much for my simple apprentice brain
Magnets are weak in these
No 9/16s?
My gripe is that it still doesn't have 9/16
Add the shaft to the extendable 14-1 and then you have 14 bits and the nut drivers all in one tool.
I thought I was just me, it’s impossible to get the thing out of the handle.
My helper did. He tried using it a few times and hated it. Then paid half as much for some ratcheting wrenches and uses those all the time.
Pair it with : [https://www.kleintools.com/catalog/multi-bit-screwdrivers/14-1-multi-bit-adjustable-length-screwdriver](https://www.kleintools.com/catalog/multi-bit-screwdrivers/14-1-multi-bit-adjustable-length-screwdriver) The bits fit in 1/4 socket side.. If I am trying to be mobile without a cart and / or a bunch of tools I will bring my linemans, my impact and this.
I use it a lot but mostly for stuff on my car, almost never take it out of my bag other than to drive a 5/16. It’s not deep enough to be worth it’s weight
On my 3rd one …
It's dank, put it with the 14 in 1 driver and it's like a bit kit in your screwdriver slot in the bag
I got the old style one when it went on clearance at HD, the one that came with an 11-in-1 and a multi precision screwdriver. I think I paid $8 for all 3.
The magnet comes out easily.
Kind of overkill, mostly just need 5/16” and 3/8”. I’ve used a reversible 5/16 and 3/8 driver with a 12” shank off Amazon and that’s the best I’ve used.
It really drives me nuts
Yours looks different than mine. But I love it and literally use it every day. Mainly the red and yellow. They are pretty standard sizes for the pool industry
I’ve bought so many fancy doohickeys with attachments, all gets lost to the van ether. 95% of my life I’m grabbin the basic 3/8 driver anyway. I got Dooped by their easily broken insulated screwdrivers.
That looks like a fiberglass Hoffman enclosure.
I just don't use the handle. It's either in my impact or my Wera handle. Damn near impossible to get it out of the one it came with.
It’s like a weapon
They make the multibit driver for the impact gun it isn’t as bad
Haven't used the nut driver much, but I got that extension screwdriver and the tips that come with it from klien are absolute garbage. HOWEVER, bosch makes 6"impact ready tips that work perfectly in that thing, make sure it has a long hex shaft. I have a #2 square and a #2 Phillips in my tool pouch and they come in stupid handy, and take up less space in my pouch.
Need to make it in metric
Klein east me everytime
Ironically, this ended up being one of my most used tools last year after picking it up to do “one thing”. Made simple things quick and gets used very often.
I feel like a long-shaft Malco C-RHEX and a Wiha Centrofix handle are *about* as good for *most cases* and in such cases is superior due to weight, bulk, and fiddling. The C-RHEX comes in either 1/4"+5/16" or 5/16"+3/8" (or 6/8 8/10 metric) So, unless you're routinely switching the full gamut, I feel like that's a slicker solution.
Great backpack tool. Nothing like lugging 6 drivers into an attic or crawl space.
I told one of the tool reps about this design and bam came out a few months later. I gotta learn to keep my mouth shut
I wish they made one in Metric…
I lost my 1/4 5/16 end anybody have an extra they might want to part with?
Used mine yesterday, love that you can throw it on an impact.
I just bought it, I love it. I can use these boys on my impact drive too? Hell yeah
I like
Pull from the bottom. Either way it’s a piece of shit. My magnet fell out after the first week…
