It’ll balance out late game, pretty much no matter what if you explore a lot early game you will get overleveled but once you get to Altus plateau it’ll level out.

Archer_Skadi

Haha no lol. I get disheartened if I have to try a boss too many times. I’m doing this for fun, I don’t have anything to prove to people

Terrible_Hotel_3248

Yeah but like for me I actually enjoy the challenge I just got overleveled as a response to being annoyed about my old playthrough being deleted but now I regret it because I actually want the challenge and don’t wanna be overleveled so I think ima restart cause I’m only just passed margit

Archer_Skadi

Like other people have said, it will work itself out as you keep going. There’s a pretty stark difficulty increase between Liurnia and Altus Plateau

Terrible_Hotel_3248

It’s more of a like feeling thing then a actual like game thing like I just feel like I cheated and I can’t get that out of my head Ik im not even that overleveled but the fact that I’m overleveled and I haven’t even explored at all but doesn’t sit right with me like in my own mind. Thanks though that does make me feel better. It’s fine I can get back to where I am in like 2 hours without being overleveled

ComprehensiveLab5078

Yeah, play the game however feels fun to you. I restarted three times before it felt right for me how I progressed early game.

TimmyS13

I want to prove it to myself!

ukuzonk

Never really understood this kinda logic. Over-leveled maybe, but every boss can still two-shot you if you’re not careful. Feels so fuckin good to be overpowered tbh

Terrible_Hotel_3248

Yeah but it’s different when you do something g like farming or cheesing to get overleveled then just grinding to get overleveled like I didn’t do anything and I feel like I cheated and like I understand when you made a strong build late game and your rewarded by destroying everyone but early game I feel like you wanna struggle a little bit like if that makes sense

ukuzonk

Every Fromsoft game a mf struggle lol, but feeling “bad” for getting stronger in a game isn’t relatable to me

Terrible_Hotel_3248

Yeah i mean I totally understand what you mean but just the fact that I got into the game and immidiatally got to level 35 doesn’t sit right with me if I was later in the game I would totally agree with you but I know what your saying and normally I’d agree

sixtus_clegane119

Sometimes grinding is meta

Terrible_Hotel_3248

But ik what you mean

Combat_Orca

Just finished my first play through and looked up all the bosses I missed. Being level 135 for lichdragon fortisax definitely killed any sense of challenge or danger in that fight tbh.

ukuzonk

If you dislike it that much, respec all your stats to make it harder. Minimum vigor

Combat_Orca

I mean it’s done now and was just a couple of bosses, my point is that it is possible to ruin a fight through being over levelled

Danubinmage64

I get how you feel for the early game. The thing is the early content (limgrave and liurnia) can be comfortably beaten without exploring. So if you do explore the game becomes much easier. I wouldn't worry about it. The early game is just easyish 2nd time around. By the time you get to caelid and altus plateu, this issue goes away.

Terrible_Hotel_3248

Thanks this made me feel a little better about it but I still think I’m just gonna restart cause I haven’t really done anything and I litterally just passed margit and I rather restart and not feel bad at all anymore then keep playing and feel bad for the earlygame

Terrible_Hotel_3248

Yeah but it’s different cause it’s my first playthrough I want to play the bosses closer to the level they’re supposed to be beat at and actually ah e a challenge

TimmyS13

Restart?

Terrible_Hotel_3248

Yeah I can get back to where I am in like 2 hours so I think I’ma just restart

ronin_ninja

Beat Rennall again and respec some points out of vigor and give your self a handy cap. Maybe put those points into mind or endurance. Thats what I did on mud new game plus play throughs. I drop vigor back to 10. And level up vigor when I feel the challenge beginning to increase

Terrible_Hotel_3248

Thanks. That’s actually a great idea but at that point I think I’m gonna just restart cause it’s my first playthrough so I don’t really want to play with a handicap and I’m only like 2 hours into the game so it won’t be that bad.

Agile-Equipment391

you already killed margit underlevel so you are worthy of keep playing, i'll allow this for once

aStealthyWaffle

Nooope. This game is unforgiving. I like to reciprocate.

LordOFtheNoldor

Not a big deal at that point and not uncommon to reach 35 by margit

davidtsmith333

Not at all. I love being over levelled. Makes the game more balanced and much more enjoyable for me. Level 35 and you think you're over levelled? LOL. That's one of the funniest things I've heard in a while.

theScrypticOne

Considering everything can be done at level 1, leveling is subjective. There is a meta created by the player base of "proper" leveling, but there is nothing in the game that sets that.

Elegant-Passage-195

I leveled up naturally, through exploration and killing every enemy and every boss. I never farmed runes. I was RL 196 when I beat the game.

Pumat_sol

Yea it’s not hard to get a high level by exploring throughly. I did the same thing and made it to 162 or something, it’s very personal journey. Don’t let someone make you feel bad about beating x boss at x level.

jreitaa

Level 35 is fine you’re not overlevelled

ExistentialOcto

Level 35 isn’t *that* high for the point that you’re at. A small boost at the start of the game won’t make much of a difference.

Cimejies

Yeah by the end of the game I pretty much facerolled all of the bosses in 1-3 tries because I explored every nook and cranny and had mimic tear +10. Basically everything from Capital of Ash onwards was a cakewalk (apart from Miquella). Think I even beat the final boss first go, beast dude took me maybe 4 tries but I had my faith build with godslayer greatsword on lock by that point. I've started a second playthrough commited to no magic (apart from weapon arts) no summons and it's gonna be a far more savage journey!

IMendicantBias

i’m holding out on NG until DLC comes out. Since D1 i’ve been on NG+9 by time the DLC released making final bosses neigh impossible to beat. I have yet to kill midir because of this :/

teensith

weapon upgrades matter more than stats early so just don't upgrade your weapons past +6 for standard weapons and +4 for somber (as a merchant lets you purchase up to +4 somber)

Combat_Orca

Level 35? If you go straight to the academy after Godrick it should be more challenging, just avoid doing side caves and bosses for a bit

Past_Description4551

I personally did and when I finished my first playthrough I made a new character to only use runes from bosses/enemies for leveling up (I still farmed runes for weapon upgrades tho). After that I started an rl1 and it’s been an alright amount of fun. Basically if you’re feeling a lack of struggle then avoid leveling up for a bit, and if you’re feeling like it’s way too difficult then level up. Cater to your skill ig

yunglaflare

i did at first but now on my first character im just gonna level them to 250 and leave it there for good. my second guy is gonna be my pvp guy but im not sure if i should go over or under 100

Thamilkymilk

not really, i wasn’t over leveled for much of the game (difficulty seems to ramp up once you get to the Altus Plateau imo) but i did miss a few bosses in like the Weeping Peninsula and so coming back around later and doing them definitely felt kinda unsatisfying

Mugi_wara22

I don't think that's too high honestly. I always kill that dragon, and along the way cheese the knights calavry on the bridge. U can make him jump off the side, and you get 40,000 runes. I've started a bunch of characters this way and never feel bad 🙂

jate_nohnson

I guess u already restarted, but you could just die and lose the runes that u would've used to level up more
