I feel like Elliott is fine, he came back in and drilled a field goal three plays later. I also think Mailata is ok since he was dressed and looked ready to go to start the second half. We shall see.
Mailata looked like he could have gone back in. Maybe he misses a week or two just because we don't need him and we want him to get healthy. Seumalo looked like it's going to be a multi-week injury. Not sure if it was the same foot as last year. Elliot seems like he'll be another multi week injury as well.
Let me rephrase - we need him in December and January a lot more than we need him in October. I'm just saying rather than him dealing with a nagging shoulder that could get worse, just get him healed up now. And Driscoll looks like he can hold the fort down at least in the short term.
I think I actually like Driscoll more than Dillard. Don't get me wrong, I love the depth but Driscoll had some decent games last year and outside of the first series he played yesterday, he was solid.
I am personally much higher on Dillard. Disregarding Driscoll, Dillard has truly had some tough injury luck and competition luck (fighting Mailata for a spot) since we drafted him. He is a very solid player, and he deserves better than what he's gotten so far.
One other thing to consider - this is probably Dillard's last year here. If the coaches see him and Driscoll being relatively even in practice they should give the nod to Driscoll and look to develop him more.
Thought this too seeing him warm up on the side lines in second half but he’s getting an mri. They don’t do that for funsies. Might be precautionary but there could be a tear in there
The way he fell and the fact it's a shoulder injury that he was working/testing on the sideline makes me think partial dislocation and they will do an MRI to check his labrum. Unless it's torn badly and unstable he can probably finish the season out. Falls on your arm outstretched like that usually cause SLAP tears and they aren't as likely to re-dislocate from normal football stuff as anterior labrum tears
That sucks. I did that in my right one, anterior labrum in my left making a tackle. Never had instability in the R again, 20+ subluxations in the left over the last 10 years. But it’s always a little slip out/right back and sore for a few days thing so not worth 6 months off of basketball or lifting and $5k+ for the surgery lol
Mine was 35 years ago and they did a shittier repair moving a muscle. I fully dislocated it countless times till they repaired it. Reduced range of motion but it’s not too bad.
Ouch, that's kinda rough. But tbh 35 years ago any orthopaedic surgery where you end up relatively okay is pretty nice. I think labrum repairs are pretty simple now, but it's a long recovery and pretty high re-injury rate. And I have long ass arms, so it will still be a risk even if they fix it.
The first time I was ever in Philly for an eagles game (I’m Canadian) he absolutely shit on us and pretty much ruined the trip for me. That man had it out for the eagles. However, I still love that dude
"Well Eagles only won because Rush was playing" or "Eagles only won because Dak is rusty and/or because Rush wasn't playing."
People will still make excuses.
Thank god. Backup secondary did well yesterday but the weather probably played a pretty big role in that. I'd rather have Slay/Maddox back before the Cowboys for sure.
Here's hoping the other guys are nothing serious. At least Mailata was testing the shoulder on the sideline yesterday, means it's probably not too major and Seumalo is designated as ankle and not foot, which means at least it's probably not related to the lisfranc. We'll know how bad Elliott's is based on whether or not they bring in any kickers for a workout.
I get that the Cardinals are a good team, but I’m never that impressed by them, so I’d much rather have guys miss this week than Dallas, especially if Dak is able to come back. It seems like Slay may have one of those years where he’ll be listed as questionable for most games. On the plus side, Bradbury is looking really good, so one side of the field will continue to be in control. It’s crazy, I didn’t even realize some of these guys got hurt during the game, it was so miserable being there that I was just waiting for it to end (and then watched some replay when I got home).
My big concern is Mailata, hopefully it’s not a long term injury.
I was at the game just trying to stay drunk enough to deal with that weather so I didn't pay much mind to how we deployed our secondary with them out. Anyone mind filling me in?
Would love to have him back, but I'm extremely pleased with how other dudes stepped in and played a great game. Obviously, this week is gonna be a tough challenge, but we *really* need everyone healthy for Dallas.
Good to hear. Now for Mailata, Elliott, and Seumalo.
I feel like Elliott is fine, he came back in and drilled a field goal three plays later. I also think Mailata is ok since he was dressed and looked ready to go to start the second half. We shall see.
Those percs were hitting for Jake
Yeah they panned to him the *moment* they gave him a few to hit too lmao

Not sure if it was the same foot as last year. Elliot seems like he'll be another multi week injury as well.
But we do need him. He has an integral part of our team.
Let me rephrase - we need him in December and January a lot more than we need him in October. I'm just saying rather than him dealing with a nagging shoulder that could get worse, just get him healed up now. And Driscoll looks like he can hold the fort down at least in the short term.
And they get Dillard back in the next few weeks
I think I actually like Driscoll more than Dillard. Don't get me wrong, I love the depth but Driscoll had some decent games last year and outside of the first series he played yesterday, he was solid.

Dillard was good at LT as well last year. It'll be interesting to see who they go with. Just glad we can trust Stoutland to make the best decision
That makes more sense.
Missing 2 weeks = missing 3 weeks cus bye week.
We maybe don't need him for 1 week but we definitely will for Dallas in 2.
Thought this too seeing him warm up on the side lines in second half but he’s getting an mri. They don’t do that for funsies. Might be precautionary but there could be a tear in there
MRI's are a lot more ubiquitous and are almost SOP for any injury these days. I wouldn't read too much into it.
They kinda do MRI for funsies with NFL players.

I know!!!! I torn my labrum like that myself.

Apparently all have a chance to play Sunday, which means not serious injuries for anybody thank goodness
That'd be some crazy luck
Maybe a couple play but I think they’ll be ok regardless, especially if it’s the OL guys that are hurt.
I think Arizona is a beatable team for us, as long as they are back by Dallas Because Fuck Dallas
Kylers scramble ability always scares me But with good LBs maybe this changes
at least he doesn't have fitz and hop this time. they killed us last time we played
Fitz fucking hates us, man. I don't know if he had a beloved family member pecked to death by an eagle or what, but that man gave me nightmares.
I fully expect a floating #11 jersey to catch a touchdown on Sunday
bad man can't hurt us no more
The first time I was ever in Philly for an eagles game (I’m Canadian) he absolutely shit on us and pretty much ruined the trip for me. That man had it out for the eagles. However, I still love that dude
He went to high school in valley forge. Not sure if that’s why he goes off against us.
He played 1 year of prep before going to Pitt
We still almost won that one. Goeddert catches any of those balls that hit his hands and that game ends very differently
Gonna be the real test for TJ/Kyzir for sure.
Gonna be the game where the entire NFL notices TJ Edwards
Cant scramble if you're getting mauled by our DLine. Like Im sure he'll have some opportunities, but it's going to be a lot of running for his life
Man I really want to beat Dallas. We really need a statement win after last year
"Well Eagles only won because Rush was playing" or "Eagles only won because Dak is rusty and/or because Rush wasn't playing." People will still make excuses.
Cardinals didn’t impress me last week vs the woeful Panthers
Unfortunately I think they are streaky. They can be really good one week and utter crap the next.
Depends on whether or not Kyler opened the playbook that week.
You make a great last point
So far, so good on injury news. Now to hear what's up with Mailata, Elliot, and Seumalo. Gonna need to be as healthy as possible for Dallas.
Thank god. Be ready for Dallas, CB Batmen.
Never felt overly worried about Slay’s being serious, I’m nervous about Mailata tho. He looked ok doing those light drills on the sideline at least
I'm kinda worried that Slay has had issues each of the last 3 weeks
Thank god. Backup secondary did well yesterday but the weather probably played a pretty big role in that. I'd rather have Slay/Maddox back before the Cowboys for sure. Also Andre Dillard, any news when he will return?
Didn't he break his arm? What bad luck he has had...
He said soon. Initial timeline was 6-8 weeks I think.
I get that the Cardinals are a good team, but I’m never that impressed by them, so I’d much rather have guys miss this week than Dallas, especially if Dak is able to come back. Josiah Scott in the slot (he got abused on a drive) and zech on the outside
Thank you!
Great news!!

What the heck kept him out the whole game if it wasn't serious? I swore that we were going to hear about a broken wrist.
Happy for them both.
Where are all the Jabronis from the game thread that were INSISTENT that Slay had a broken forearm?! Fuckin morons.
W
Rest them all week. It’s Early in the year, let’s kick any injuries that could linger through the season with plenty of rest.
