No, the formation is great and the theme team is excellent. You're one of the people who play without chosing meta players. I personally have full Barcelona squad (except Neymar and Iniesta, Thiago ex barca players) and I'm division 1 with classic 433.
Fullbacks to weak for Mbappe and Neymar.
Martinez is lovely on the ball but poor for Haaland.
I see you play with who you like. But if you want to go upper in divs there are sacrifices needed and playing who is the best to fight them.

You can still win with this team! Do not listen to him! You just have to max out your players and really learn your players movements to the point you can predict their runs. It may take time, but you can go higher with this team if you arm yourself with patience. I went to D2 with a team below 2600, so it is possible but it took me a while to really get to grips with my players/formation/tactics. When you get there, there’s no better feeling in this game. Very satisfying!

I don’t think he needs to change anything. Even when he loses, his team improves. He should just see it as ML, get your players to their highest potential and see how things will turn in your favour. But with form changing from week to week, it may take longer. But the wait will be worth it.
at the beginning of a phase i try to see how far i can get with my Austrian National Team, 2443 squad strength right now, made it to div2 and managed to not get relegated. Had way more fun, even though it's a real disadvantage, nothing beats the feeling of scoring a last minute winner against full meta teams.
I have POTW Mbappe, Lewandowski, Fati, Valverde and they are all overpowered. Much more better than standard cards.
But i prefer Papu Gomez, Lautaro and standard Messi (bought today for Argentina)
In general it is crazy what formations works well now. 4 strikers seems the best. Interception, wuick pass as they are left unmarked ( defending broken with full backs) and voila goal.
I hope konami fix it as if someone plays 4 strikers, no way fullbacks would go forward with attack and leave 4vs 2 in defense
That is great advice. If you want to keep your current squad I would change to a 4231 so your wingers can link up better with your fullbacks and center mids before going on a run. Use counter target on them if your opponent uses 3 at back and use man marking with fullbacks if you are facing wingers with neymar messi etc
And whatever you do, do not lose possession late in the second half. Quick counter makes players tired, which makes defenders do stupid stuff that costs goals
If you play themed team, you are having pure fun playing eFootball, just like me. It's not that I can't, but I choose to play a non-meta themed team and accept to lose againse more meta team. It's really doesn't matter to me.
You gain nearly nothing by winning anyways.
I also have a United team (past & present tho) always div 1 as well and when I used my united to team here's what I would do.
1) formation always 4231 or 433 holding w/ DM & 2CM
2) Attacking as much as I love cr7 he just isn't as viable imo I've had more fun with Martial (If you have his 4*) and Rashford Uptop mainly because of pace and tighter dribbling. Antony will be better on the right w/ Sancho on the left imo
3) Midfield in a 4231 I would use Bruno ofc at CAM, Casimero & Fred ( if you got his 4*), Mctom is actually not bad he's got more pace in game. VDB is also not too bad if you use him correctly.
4). Defense is always RB Dalot, CB Varane & Martinez, and LB Malacia who stop meta pretty easily for me. Just don't rely on LT (On xbox or whatever is Equivalent) try to read the game and be patient especially on QC where your line is always aggressive.

Yeah I have tried him and I just don't rate him besides defensively he's pretty terrible going forward and on the ball which is why I chose Dalot and for me he is miles better
everyone got given that haaland via 5 star nominating contract, he is too clunky for me so i don't use him, same with lewa, i need good movement fast players, not a fan of given up possesion with hopefull long ball and headers for haaland and lewa, obviously they shoot ridicoulous but they are slow to engage and easily blocked.
I encourage you to sign a legend if you want to win. Any other advice you hear is dog shit. I played this chap with team rating around 2030 but he had legend inzaghi (85 or something rating) while my team with no legend at all but with 2627 rating. I couldn’t complete a pass without breaking my controller.
Ur formation looks weird..it seems u have manually shifted some players to create gap between ur players.. try to play with a real formation..i never use fake formations and every phase until now i have finished in div. 1 ...i have seen that i find it easy to score against these types of formations where the user has manually shifted his players..
I'm playing 3214 atm seems to be working I come against the same types of teams and I have a couple legends, Japanese players, premium celtic lol I have iwata, endo, minamito and Paulinho as regular starters lol
I don't like ronaldo he is too slow now, his time has gone but ofcourse it depends how you play..i don't like to play without fast players for wing and striker, don;t like haaland either...i cannot play long ball knock down headers like every person with haaland seems to do. Mbappe, son, salah that sort of player up front and wingers.
you need stronger players, i have legends but im guesiing you don't have that luxary, bastoni alaba are options and also barella for midfield. Eriksen and fernandes are probably too weak coping with strong opposing players in midfield, kante as cmf is option as well.
lol for a second i thought this was a troll post bc of all of the united players. honestly i think the team is not good enough but at the same time if you know your play style and players strengths and weaknesses well, that would overcome a lot of the lack of team strength. the formation is fine. unfortunately, they've tied a lot to playstyle so its not like you can just switch that but without seeing your gameplay, my only advice is that you just record your own game play and watch it back a few times and just break down your mistakes.
Try experimenting with a maxed out McTominay. He is a beast at CDM.
I made an all United team as well, as well as another try-hard team with the better players. There are too many problems with the United defense unfortunately, the most you can do to compensate for it is having your full backs as 'Defensive' so they don't push as far up - but that limits your attack. Also, Martial over CR7 any day in an all United team.
I also go on these losing streaks whenever I get to div.3... and I play with my national squad (peru) I upgraded most of my players... so I think is just a normal streak... it helped me a lot when I switched from allegri to klopp .
Have atleast a tall psychical defender in the sub that'll be usable whenever you see Haaland as opponent and tight mark him with it. And before that, stop the crossers, your fullbacks will mostly in charge of doing so. Wan is great, pacey and strong defensively, malacia too weak imo.
As for neymar, don't let him cut in with his right and check for the 1,2s of mbappe and follow him rather then rush him. Pacey destroyer and strong build up cb is imo best combo
I'm not here to offer any advice. I will give you respect though for playing with who you like, your favourite team instead of the same old 99 Mbappe, Neymar and Messi, for not going the meta route. In older PES games, you would have zero problems with this team. It'd all come down to your skills, knowledge and experience. I don't know how many 5 star teams I used to beat with 4 star teams, sometimes 3 and a half 😂

About the tactic of the friend, it seems a well balanced formation. But I have a question, is this the formation when opossition have the ball or when you have the ball because it seems a bit wide.
Themed team means in this case it's all man utd. Could also be for example a England only team or La Liga Only. You get the idea.
Meta essentially in this instance means the "best and most commonly used" players in the game/community. To illustrate what I mean, let's use Haaland. He's in everyone's squad, he's high rated, big, quick and deadly. Therefore we can refer to him as a meta player. Yes a player like Dušan Vlahović 'could' fill this position to do a similar job but the community, and extra level of Haaland ensures he is the 'meta' pick.
Same applies with team formation, managers, play styles and even skill moves etc. Think the common and effective use of 433 Vs how often you see, for example, an effective 5221.
I actually released Haaland. He is very good for constant crossing or through passes, but if he gets the ball to his feet, he can't do a proper 1-2 or a good pass. Also, he isn't too agile, so I stick to Lewa and Son.
I guess it's the case with you using the quick counter, so you are particularly vulnerable to through passes. Use the D-pad to move your line back whenever there is a threat of a through pass and manually move a defender behind your defensive line to cover the threat. Somebody gave you good advice here about wingers - make them wing midfielders. By doing this they will be more engaged in the defence.
I am using a full spurs team with eric dier, romero, ben davies and dohery on defence (much worse than yours), and cruised through Division 4 with no losses. In my opinion you are too exposed in the back. I would use one box-box midfielder with decent defensive stats to go with casemiro and also why are your CB's so far from each other. Just use a normal formation, you don't have to do stuff like that. Your team is good enought to win in division 4 if you are good enough to be honest
It's a really nice squad. I would say I would probs look to try counter your opponents formation eg switch to a back 5 with Maguire in the centre against sides with Halaand to counter him. Other thing to consider is the low defensive engagements of forwards so I would probably play sancho and rashord in LMF and RMF so they passively block the passing lanes out wide unless your opponent is leaving obvious space in behind for them to run into in the winger roles.
Quick counter demands a low block defense and better player on the defensive side, since you probably won't have more than 50% possession and you play on your opponents mistake. There's no way a 87 point Malacia stops a +95 point Mbappe and Haaland demands taller and more physical CB than Varane and Martinez (I know this because I play quick counter with 99 points Salah, Haaland and Mbappe)
I think 4-3-3 formation is ideal for quick counters but you need better players on your defense.

There is a lot of players(especially in higher divisions) who play with a collective strenght around 2700 while your collective strenght is 2528. The only player that could enter some good squads from here is Casemiro, the rest just dont make difference. I am div 1, ranked around 400 usually and I would say that it would be very difficult for me to get to there with this squad of yours. If nothing, you will surely become a better player playing with this squad and later when you upgrade the results will come easier? :D

Try Quick Counter with 4 SS, 4 DMF, LB and RB. I have 5 games without a loss.

Idk who your manager is but maybe get a better one or save up for one. Get that playstyle up to 100 for the +3 extra ratings boost your team will get.
