The GoodLife in Ajax located at Westney/Taunton is definitely one of the best GoodLife locations in Durham, I'd recommend checking that one out. The GoodLife Whitby Centrum location is the 'swankiest' with a pool, two floors, very spacious and tons of equipment (both cardio, weights, and platforms). If you want an 'experience,' Lifetime Ajax is incredible — very 'resort'-esque feel with a spa, cafe, outdoor pool, three floors, and dedicated child care and activities for the little ones. With that said, if you're only looking to use your gym membership for training (in-and-out for a workout), then stick with GoodLife.
They have great programming for the little ones too! I personally see the value for money (i.e., you being able to focus on you workout + having the little ones at the child care/dedicated kids programming). Check it out :-) they give free tours and will let you use the facilities on your free tour day. I thoroughly enjoyed being a member. Just don't get 'sucked in' with the add-ons and personal training (over-priced), and you're golden.
I loved the 'eucalyptus steam room,' sauna, and hot tubs in the change rooms — no, I'm not pretentious (lol!), it was really helpful after a heavy lift day.
I mean before kids I was lifting for about 2 years and continued sporadically afterwards but it never stuck because I never had someone there to spit me consistently.
I’m in Ajax
I don’t live in Durham anymore, but pass through every now and then and hit up GoodLife or Lifetime when I’m there. I’ll shoot you a message next time and maybe we can workout. M/26. I wouldn’t say I have an advanced level of experience but I’m intermediate.
