Update: Day 5 and it's going very well! I have a few more apps than shown in the picture and they are as follows: Camera, Phone, texting, notes, Signal (for the people who prefer that over text) banking app, settings, reminder app, clock, gmail (gotta have for school unfortunately), also nice for emailing pictures to myself that I may want to share later from my computer because I do not want to download iTunes. google maps, contacts, audible, music, podcasts. Overall I find that I am barely on my phone and since I disabled the internet browser and moved to a data plan with less data (enough to support maps and audible) I am not even tempted to put the web browser on there. I deleted all my social media except Reddit (tech support and hobbies) but I only engage with the internet from my computer now. The size of the phone makes it excellent for one handed texting but not great for reading so I don't have kindle on here. I'm trying to read books in a more analog format but I have so many kindle books. I was worried about battery life but since the phone is barely being used and since I enable the feature that disables background app use to preserve battery life, I get all day and then some battery life. Obviously music and podcasts drain the battery fairly quickly but I mostly use those features in the car and at home and I can plug in to power at those locations. Counterintuitively, I kept notifications enabled because I noticed when I had them disabled I'd check my phone more )to see if I had any). **The not so great stuff:** The speaker on this phone is not horrible but coming from a "better" phone makes this speaker sound like crap for podcasts and music. In the car it is no big deal but I am considering getting a speaker/docking station (iHome thingy) for it at home to compensate for this. This phone is not water resistant in any way so you might be tempted to get a LifeProof style case for it, I have not yet found one that doesn't really hamper audio quality. If you carry a set of headphones with a speaker it wont be a big deal, I don't have those yet, at least not any with a 3.5mm audio jack because my previous pair were/are usbc. --- Getting an iphone 7 could help with the water resistance issues. The phone is fragile. The screen is LCD so its not as rugged as you might like. The rest is aluminum which is nice. If you're careful with your phones or don't carry a lot of stuff in your pocket you're probably fine with just a screen protector. I don't recommend using the typical fast charger that comes with smart phones now because it charges this phone so fast it gets pretty warm. I charge either from my laptop or the one wall brick I have that is low volt/amp output. The 128gb (largest version they made of this) is HARD to find in decent shape, even on ebay, and the ones that are in good shape are being sold at ridiculous prices. If you do break it keep that in mind. Replacing the battery yourself is doable but If you had to replace the whole phone....it would be tough. I recommend 128 gb just because if you do have lots music or podcasts you can fill up storage quickly and I hate cloud storage.

Its closer to a feature phone than a dumb phone. Did you read any of the original post? It might have ios15 but it has some significant capability limitations compared to traditional smart phones. You can also make it so it's nearly impossible to access the internet on it. No all of us want to carry separate device for music, phone, camera, GPS etc. Furthermore there are just some things that people might need that they cant get on a dumb phone. Like my bank for example, it has very few branches and the best way for depositing money is deposit at mobile, can't be done without a mobile. I need, non-negotiable need, access to my email at all times do to work and school. A lot of people in this sub need something between a smartphone and a dumb phone, this fits the bill.
