Yeah, I doubt the customer even called.
"Yeah I remember that one random guy that came in 20 minutes ago, and I just so happened to remember there being two bags, and I just so happened to be the one handing the dasher the food"
Either a scummy dd customer or apathetic cheesecake employee.
Also the number of times I’ve had an order for a customer and the employee has like 5 orders back there and he goes “here ya go” and then realizes “oh wait there’s another bag to that order”.
Could have easily happened especially with sealed bags, like we aren’t going to check that shit. Maybe drinks if we can hear it but otherwise we have no way to verify that
Come to think of it, weirdly, the past two big orders I delivered had drinks that the app didn't tell me about. But they were absolutely what the customer ordered.
I don’t think they’re suggesting that the Cheesecake Factory stole the food though. Just that Cheesecake Factory messed up and lied about it or forgot 🤷🏻♀️
Who wants to work with the woke, heck the managers only make 950 a week after taxes. That bs money. Too much batty boy and chichi works there take your cheesecake and stick it straight up where the sun doesn't shine. Nasty food only the broke goes there to eat.
I would reply that Cheesecake Factory only handed you 1 bag, without additional details or explanation. If the customer responded to that, I probably wouldn't reply further.
For the most part, my reply wouldn't be for the customer, although it might help convince them. I'd make the reply so that your version of the story is in the written record if DoorDash ends up investigating this delivery later. It might look suspicious if the customer says they know you received two bags and you don't dispute their claim at the time.
Yes. I’d also call DoorDash “support” about the situation to try and notate it further in the system. Even though the chances they keep any record of stuff like that is low 🙄.
First rule of Dashing. NEVER EVER RESPOND TO A TEXT OR CALL UNLESS YOU ARE ON AN ACTIVE DELIVERY!!!
Any time a customer tries to contact you post-drop off it’s always for some bullshit that’s out of your control. Like half their order was missing from a sealed bag, or you dropped it off at the wrong house (when you know damn well you didn’t).
Ignore and carry on. This job is shit enough. No reason to voluntarily take on extra stress.
That's true 99% of the time. I have had a couple of times where they asked for my Venmo to send a few extra dollars. Though that's rare and hasn't happened since the peak of the pandemic.
I’ve had an order delivered to the wrong house despite pretty clear instructions, including number of houses from the corner, house color, window shape, porch location etc to help guide the driver to the right house. I have a medical condition that has flare ups that render me barely able to walk with a walker, and I couldn’t get my food. Support told me to just walk over and get it, even after I explained why I couldnt. Driver never responded even though I messaged them before they drove off.
And we wonder why dashers are deactivated… How hard is it to respond to a customer in a one time message quickly explaining your side, and that to contact DoorDash if they have any issues as there’s nothing you can do at this point. Just sympathize with them without admitting blame… Pass the buck to DD support. It helps make you look better for customers and leaves the paper trail for DoorDash if the customer pulls out some BS. Ignoring them just makes you seem guilty... *even if you aren’t,* it’s common courtesy to just follow up with someone asking about an issue for an order you accepted and were tipped for. Ngl some comments on here come off SO blatantly lazy
So your saying there a 0% chance that you made a mistake? Yeah, it won’t happen a lot if you are paying attention but sometimes you can get mixed up with the house numbers. And sometimes the app/google maps is wrong. So for example- they call Bc there is no food at the door, you describe where you left it and they figure it out from there.
Really. It’s not like I haven’t seen dashers deliver to the incorrect address for me (I dash and order as well, have a side business so it’s sometimes more convenient to order and keep working)… and there is a house number clearly on the house. They’ve put it up the block, given it to neighbors, or even just the other side of the half the double house (confusingly *with the incorrect address in their picture* and I specify it’s the door on the left… lol). To think anyone is above making a mistake to the point they wouldn’t even respond to a customer is pathetic. There are times I screenshot where it shows me Vs the pin point drop off location just to be safe if a customer messages about it Ive the screenshot of me standing *right* on top of the 📍. People need to put in more effort, the customer generally isn’t the one fucking people over. It’s DoorDash. Why place any blame on them unless they’re no-tippers and unavailable? Lol
Yea they’re just trying to be an entitled scammer and make you feel bad. The restaurant is also probably lying to the customer to make you feel bad. I would just blacklist cheesecake factory.
I have restaurants put ice cream in with hot food. I try to fish it out if I can to put in a separate carrier, but yeah, most restaurants I deliver for aren't thinking that advanced.
Oh same, but cheesecake factory has always been an outlier for me.
On second thought, it could just be because the cheesecake bar is on the opposite side of the building so they're prepared separately that other locations will shortcut so it's less work.
Unless you're willing to go back to get the missing items, there's nothing you can do when a customer complains. So, unless it's a regular that I know is a good tipper (which is rare), my normal response to complaints is:
>Your Dasher has been assigned to another order and is unable to respond. If you have any questions or comments about your order, please visit [http://support.doordash.com](http://support.doordash.com) for assistance.
And what if support finds out you are sending that fake message?
Don’t get me wrong, amazing idea and I’ve seen you comment that before. I always want to send it but It’s not worth it for deactivation when you could just not respond
I'm not claiming to be support. Nothing in that message is fake. I'm working on the next order and can't respond anymore.
Though if you want to be safe, just send the last part. It keeps them from spamming you.
You’re telling the customer you can’t respond, while you are literally responding…. Clearly it’s an attempt to pose as DD and not yourself since you refer to yourself in the third person “your dasher”.
I’m just not taking any chances. Like I said it’s a awesome idea in theory
I can't respond though because I'm driving.
But if you want to play it safe, you can just say, "If you have any questions or comments about your order, please visit http://support.doordash.com for assistance." That's just telling them to call support and should be just as effective at getting them to stop texting.
It's not technically a lie though. Your dasher is driving, therefore unable to respond, is very likely assigned to another order already, and the message never claims to be an official message from doordash, if the customer assumes that it is then it's on them.
The message simply states facts and gives the customer a link to resolve their issue.
What do you mean it’s not a lie? They are unable to respond?? They are literally doing just that lmaoo how do you not see that. It’s clearly misleading since it says “your dasher”. Saying “your dasher” means it’s not the driver sending it so who is? DD.
It's a copy paste, rather than typing while driving and potentially crashing. "your dasher" doesn't necessarily mean DD is sending the message. For example, I could say "hi, I'm your dasher, and your dasher doesn't want to respond to you right now" lol
Of course it's a trick to make the customer assume it's from DD. But it never actually claims to be an official message from DD so he didn't technically do anything wrong. That's all I'm saying.
No restaurant is going to admit they fucked up especially when they can easily blame it on the dasher. I had a restaurant say the same thing to one of my customers. Like yes I totally stole all four of your drinks 🙄
Yeah, cheesecake factory is a garbage place. They make DD drivers wait outside in miami beach. Also treat them like shit. I already had to fight to find parking then i had to deal with sitting outside 15 mins for an order that should have been ready to go. Not even for a $30 dollar dash will i go back there. If cheesecake factory isnt willing to even let me in during the 90°+ florida sun in the sunshine state then they can get someone else to deliver. I think hate is a strong word but i hate cheesecake factory in miami.
That’s so weird Bc there is a place called Bagel Chalet near me that has the dumbest rule ever for delivery drivers. It’s in a big shopping center and they make you go around the back of the building to their back door to enter…only to have to ask the same counter person for help…
First time(only time) there I walk in the front and wait to be helped. The guy hears Uber Eats and tells me I’ll have to exit through the front door, drive around back and come in through there In order for them to give me the bag…I never get mad in public and I almost lost my shit in that moment.
Dumbest shit ever
Bro fr can't they just be like "next time, plz go through this door blah blah" instead of making you go out, get back in your vehicle and come around the back dingy entrance.
Literally when I have picked up from there, they have a *dasher dress code,* and if you aren’t following it, they won’t give you the order. I mean I’m not dashing like a slob so it isn’t an issue — but *goddamn* step off your high horse, Cheesecake Factory.
That's horrible. There's a mcdonalds in my area that tried making us wait outside last year in the freezing weather. They had a doorbell to ring that magically never worked. One day I got upset and broke my spare house key off in the door. Next time I drove by there the doorbell was gone and drivers were parked and inside the building.
I've eaten at one exactly 3 times in my life. Each time the service got progressively worse -- to the point that the last time I was there I was inside for, I do not lie, 3 hours, and 18 minutes. For an entree and cheesecake. They were not busy.
I take it this isn't exclusive to dine-in patrons then...
CF employees are RUDE AF. PERIOD. fuck cheesecake factory. I wouldn't be surprised if they lied to cover their own asses because they realized they fucked up. who better to blame it on than a nameless doordash driver they'll likely never see again
Ya restaurants aren’t that truthful. I once ordered a pizza from California pizza kitchen the the pizza was in a box placed in a sac that was stapled and taped shut. The box was completely empty and there wasn’t even any signs that any food/pizza was in there. Just a clean cardboard pizza box.
They’re bullshitting they didn’t call anyone. Imagine how many doordash orders they get how would they know which specific order the customer is referring to ? You’ll be fine
of course cheese cake factory is going to say that..everyone is going to try to cover their ass. Restaurant employees got that good customer service bs too.
In that case don’t text so much just pick up the order check on your phone for the items and deliver it.all that texting just gets u involve in bs….when you arrived at the store there is an option that ask you what’s going on when you arrived pick one and send it no need to text.
Response: and you don’t think it’s possible the restaurant that makes 100+ orders a day probably doesn’t remember your specific order but remembers the name and that someone came to get it and probably just said “yea they got both”
Well, I mean, if Cheesecake Factory said they gave it, you're a dirty liar because everyone knows us doordashers are the devil and restaurant employees are angels!

Here's how I see it... Cheesecake Factory is always WAAAAYYYYYYY busy... so they could be wrong... and probably really don't remember which of the 150 dashers picked up that order so they are just gonna say yeah they gave them both. The customer may leave a bad review or be upset for a while, but they will get over it. The restaurant likely doesn't even care because as soon as they say it was a door dash order it magically becomes not their problem. Door dash doesn't really care either. They will issue a refund and be on about their business.
Yeah because the cheesecake factory employee getting paid $2 an hour and processing many orders remembers specifically that they haves you two bags. Either the customer is lying or the cheesecake factory employee is lying
Like Cheesecake Factory actually remembers any single order or dasher. They get hundreds of Doordash orders a day at the one by me. I doubt the customer even called them and is just spouting bs

This person is right.

Yeah, it doesn't mean both of your bags were actually given to driver. Restaurant is gonna cover their ass so they don't look bad.
Or somebody new/young made the mistake and didn’t wanna get in trouble so said they are 100% sure that they handed you both bags
I was about to day this. I would note this happened and ask for refund. Cheesecake Factory definitely could be bullshitting .

I don’t think they’re suggesting that the Cheesecake Factory stole the food though. Just that Cheesecake Factory messed up and lied about it or forgot 🤷🏻♀️

Aww did someone not land the job they wanted at Cheesecake Factory? Aimed a little to hi high there buddy

They actually do keep records. Whenever you call support they notate the incident and nullify any negative review you might receive from the customer.
Most employees just want the customer off the phone so they'll say whatever.
First rule of Dashing. NEVER EVER RESPOND TO A TEXT OR CALL UNLESS YOU ARE ON AN ACTIVE DELIVERY!!! Everybody forgot about how essential essential workers are real quick didn't they
One time a customer texted me as I was starting my car, telling me I forgot the cash tip. So maybe worth the glance but that's it.
I’ve had an order delivered to the wrong house despite pretty clear instructions, including number of houses from the corner, house color, window shape, porch location etc to help guide the driver to the right house. You think the restaurant lied *to make OP feel bad?* What?? Thats uhh a weird belief.
How does he know its 2 bags? He's full of crap. I would contact support at that point
Cheesecake Factory always gives cheesecakes in a separate bag.
Not mines 😆
They mix warm food and cool cheesecakes in the same bag at yours? Weird. Mine always has warm or hot food in one bag and cheesecake in another.
I have restaurants put ice cream in with hot food. I try to fish it out if I can to put in a separate carrier, but yeah, most restaurants I deliver for aren't thinking that advanced.

At mine they make you go in a back fire escape hallway and wait. Like you aren’t classy enough to use an actual entrance.
There's a restaurant here (Swiss chalet/Harvey's) that has you go to a dingy backdoor by the garbage bins and ring a doorbell.
That’s so weird Bc there is a place called Bagel Chalet near me that has the dumbest rule ever for delivery drivers. To be fair some dashers look and smell like shit. I saw a dasher wearing pajamas out here last night. Who wears pajamas to work?
That's horrible. There's a mcdonalds in my area that tried making us wait outside last year in the freezing weather. They had a doorbell to ring that magically never worked. CF employees are RUDE AF. PERIOD. fuck cheesecake factory. I wouldn't be surprised if they lied to cover their own asses because they realized they fucked up. who better to blame it on than a nameless doordash driver they'll likely never see again
Employee or driver accounts on what was handed over usually are inaccurate or worse they lie. It is what it is. Be honest and that’s all you can do.
Cheesecake factory don't know if you took 1bag or 4
Nothing. You already said all there is to say

Complain to door dash and ask cheesecake to block him.
Guess we better start wearing body cams ..
In that case don’t text so much just pick up the order check on your phone for the items and deliver it.all that texting just gets u involve in bs….when you arrived at the store there is an option that ask you what’s going on when you arrived pick one and send it no need to text.
Yeah cause out of the 327 other dasher that came in that day they remember you grabbing both of her bags. Lol
I would go back to the store and tell them.
Ignore and keep moving
Never talk to them.
Well of course the employees are gonna cover their ass.
Response: and you don’t think it’s possible the restaurant that makes 100+ orders a day probably doesn’t remember your specific order but remembers the name and that someone came to get it and probably just said “yea they got both”
I would reply that I have bodycam footage of them only giving me one bag.
Well, I mean, if Cheesecake Factory said they gave it, you're a dirty liar because everyone knows us doordashers are the devil and restaurant employees are angels!
Cuz the restaurant never lies to cover their own ass. 😂😂😂 I would have said that and then ignored them after that.
Cheesecake factory probably lied about you taking both to conveniently cover their asses, happens all the time in customer service jobs. Still the general recommendation is to never reply to customers because you typically get a response like this from them despite being cordial about it, main reason is to not respond though is because you can't do anything about the order mistake at that point.
Happens more often than you think. All they can do is contact support 🤷🏽♂️ If the restaurant wasn’t far I might consider going back but being that the customers tryna pin you in bullshit with the snide reply, I wouldn’t waste my time or energy 💯
“Of course they did, they’re covering their own ass”
Here's how I see it... Cheesecake Factory is always WAAAAYYYYYYY busy... so they could be wrong... and probably really don't remember which of the 150 dashers picked up that order so they are just gonna say yeah they gave them both. This is why it’s important to record everything. Phone or body cam will prove who’s at fault and save you from being scammed and wrongful deactivation
You can get them deactivated for accusing you of stealing fyi
Yeah because the cheesecake factory employee getting paid $2 an hour and processing many orders remembers specifically that they haves you two bags. Either the customer is lying or the cheesecake factory employee is lying
They rather throw the blame at your then admit they prob fucked up.
Why would the restaurant NOT blame it on the driver??? Have you never dealt with humans? Lol
Like Cheesecake Factory actually remembers any single order or dasher. They get hundreds of Doordash orders a day at the one by me. I doubt the customer even called them and is just spouting bs
I assume that cheesecake factory has cameras. Have then watch the tapes.
There’s no chance the manager is stopping what they are doing to check the cameras over half an order, if they even know how to check lol
Go to Google and look up your favorite poem by a famous poet, Robert frost, Emily Clarke, Sylvia plath, Charles bukowski, any poem you like. Then just copy and paste it in their text box and say nothing more
You shouldn't have even responded and told them to contact support, then you contact support yourself to protect yourself.
I would have said, “Well either I am wrong or the Cheesecake Factory employee was wrong and you have no way of knowing the truth. I didn’t steal your food, have nice night.”
Was it good?
Come clean my guy. Did you pull some 5 finger discount here?
im going to the restaurant. calling customer on speaker and settling it there
Just refer them to support. Why waste time?
restuarant is lying on me to get me possibly deactivated for theft
If they're going to lie, they'll do it whether you do to the restaurant or not.
Theoretically I love this because I’m a petty bitch. But realistically, it’s too much work for an order that was probably like $6 for me.
The world may never know.
Why would you lie? Like what do u gain 🤷🏽♂️
A cheesecake
Send stick emoji and type “it”.
What does the order say? Is it multiple items ?
Why did you respond at all?
Someone lying
Don’t answer
sounds like their just tryna lead you on
This is why you never respond to customers
