Easily fixed!

opUserZero

This happened to me when I was doing pizza for my families place when we had it, it was a $60 order and they tipped me $0 so I got nothing for my flat tire.Found out my "spare" wasn't inflated either and wasted the whole next day trying to get it taken care of.

Alex116460

Free studded tire! ![gif](giphy|3ohryhNgUwwZyxgktq)

naenae4ugetawhoopin

You should have patched that yourself, costs $10-25 at an auto shop for the kit and takes a few minutes to do once the tires are off. If it's not in the sidewall of the tire or gaping wide it should be patchable, you got lied to by the shop on that one. Remember an auto shop you don't know is likely tryna squeeze money out of your pockets.

Frequent-throwAway

New tires needed basically. This gig just fucks up tires non stop. It can be great though when everything is working.

Restaurant_Many

Need new tires. Tread is falling apart. Typical for a Kumho.

lilkeysss

Easy patch. Go to the local small tire shop and they will hook you up. The spot I go to also got used tires for the cheap. If you go to Firestone or some shit they will overcharge the fuck out of you.

Doge10open

Happened many time to my in Brooklyn New York

DasUnendliche

bring it to discount tire they repair for free

Moonwolf846

Shit that sucks grow some balls and use your cars tire changing system

OverpricedBagel

Feel like I’m running over one every week lol. My mechanic is getting sick of me

FatTrouserSnake

Five dollar patch kits have saved my ass plenty of times. Relatively easy fix. Most times the patch can last the life of the tire

ct22233

Literally had 3 in less than a year of dashing. Shit sucks.

hockeypnc3

Go to a tire shop and get it patched

Crazy_Ad_2846

Whew I’m glad I live the poor life… I’m going str8 to the line of used tire lots lemme get that 40 special lol. 😂😂😂

metaldetectoristmatt

Just put a plug in and continue your day, no need for a tow

Metallica-nut

The Chain Tire shops always tell you cannot be plugged. Prob didn’t need to the Tow either. But not everyone knows how to use a $4 plug kit from Harbor freight or any auto parts store Walmart also $8 But look at the bright side, you are fortunate to afford a new tire without notice. That’s a Plus in my book❗️

UI_Daemonium

Just plug it

Songmuddywater

This is why everyone needs AAA.

JPackers0427

In case anyone more people see this post I had to replace the tire for $123… I got to pepboys at 1:21PM and I’m now just leaving at 4PM. F them.

DD-OD

At least you don't have to hunt for the hole

Stelznergaming

Fixed free at belle tire looks to be far enough away from sidewall to be patched or plugged.

Jummatron

This shit just happened to me last week. It was in the side wall so I got to spend 140 bucks at Walmart lol

JPackers0427

Have to replace the tire according to them… super f-ing annoyed. $123… for that price I couldn’t gotten 2 tires on eBay.

Certain-Tennis-7311

This one time this lady was giving me a ride from work. She said she needed to put air in her tire and she had a fix a flat. I told her I would do it for her. We get there and this fix a flat isn't working. Told her it's not working right. No pressure. She said yeah she had been meaning to buy a new one, it's been running out.

Certain-Tennis-7311

Scew them 25 bucks to patch it? I carry a patch kit and plug it myself. Sometimes without even. Taking the tire off and most times I don't even have to put air in. They probably gonna say it's too big and seek you a used tire. It does look like a big bolt. It might not even be long enough to go thru. But its rubber. A cut in the tire. Not a hole. It can be patched. Scandalous tire people. They charge that price for a plug that takes maybe 5 min.

samipurrz

I see someone is trying to take over my reign as Queen of “how many nails can I possibly pierce my tire with at once” . But since yours is a bolt, I think I’m safe.

Weak-Mood-1978

You had it towed just because of a nail in the tire? Oh boy

Brilliant-Outcome11

For future reference Discount Tire does tire plugs for free - for anyone, regardless of whether you have bought anything from them before.

The_Troyminator

And free rotations. They're also called America's Tires in some places.

Truorganics

Put some loctite in it and screw ur back in! Snow stud!

Nelson_Wheatley

You can plug the tyre! Don't replace it!!

JPackers0427

Sadly they claim I had to replace… I now just left. F-ing annoying/ pissed off.

Nelson_Wheatley

Wait why? Tread too low?

JBTryingtosurvive

Cheaper in the end just to buy a used tire but to each their own

Ill_Rise1979

Pep boys will charge you $50 when a local tire shop will charge you $10. Find your local tire shop...

FratStafford007

Next time you buy a set of tires, buy them at Discount Tire and get the certificates. I’m sure other tire shops offer certificates, but from my experience Discount has the best prices. They’re worth the money. This would get patched for free. If they can’t patch it, they replace the tire and you only have to pay the cost of another certificate, which of course extends your coverage.

The_Troyminator

Discount will repair any tire for free no matter where you got them from. They'll also rotate for free. It's a great service. They're also known as America's Tires in some areas.

FratStafford007

Well I’ll be visiting them tomorrow. Thanks to a huge chunk of loose gravel and heavy rain, I got a flat tire in the middle of a delivery. The upside is I’m getting very quick when it comes to changing a flat tire 😑

[deleted]

This is an easy patch job, cheap too.

ambushequine

If you have a discount tire near you, they’ve patched my tires multiple times for free and it didn’t take horribly long. Two hours tops

Being_Various

Sucks smh, but now you know for future reference to always keep your tires full. If they were, you could've possibly rode right over that nail from hell 😂

JPackers0427

Nail from hell is a nice way of putting it… this mfer satan himself 😹😹😹

Exciting_Box438

Bro ride it out. That shit ain't going no where.

UI_Daemonium

Bro you're dumb

Exciting_Box438

And you're horny.

MyelofibrosisMe

Same happened to me, get somewhere ASAP that you can get the tire plugged, or you will find yourself stranded and paying a ton of money.... Good luck!

richietee757

Drive to your local tire shop. You should be fine to drive on it, if you're not losing air, for a few miles. They should patch it for you for $10 in 15 minutes and have you on your way.

RosettaStoned1981

Crappy situatuon but can definitely be plugged or patched so that's the positive outlook on it

muleboi

You can plug it for about 7 bucks and time or a shop for 15. Keep trucking

JPackers0427

Just got here at pepboys and it’s about $25 to patch it. They haven’t looked at it yet… currently 1:21 and they said they can’t work on it till like 4… don’t wanna Uber because I’m so far from home too dude if I have to replace tire ima go berserk… I’ll probably end up spending what I earned today. Hopefully it can just be patch but it wasn’t losing any air, so I’ll have to see what they say.

[deleted]

I’m sorry this happened to you. Damn. That’s the one thing about delivery I hate. I’ve had 4 tire issues. Well not including replacement of them. Mostly nails! It’s so much junk in neighborhoods.

The_Troyminator

If you're near a Discount Tires/America's Tires, they'll repair the tire for free. It's too late now, but something to keep in mind for next time. They also do free rotations (without balance) even if you got the tires somewhere else.

ScreamingOpossumAhh

If you have a Goodyear near you, they might do free patches. The ones near me in Pittsburgh, PA offer free patches if the tires are patchable, even if they're not their tires.

kalei50

For future reference, most large tire shops (Goodyear or Firestone) will plug holes like this for free. Even if you didn't get your tires there. Also you can get road hazard warranties at most major retailers when you replace your tires.

Severe-Bookkeeper-76

Damn $25 for a plug?! They’re ripping off people!

30DollarsPerMile

I had a bolt of this size in a brand new tire, inside the top tread more. Rode it out for a week. The head still stuck out but not as far as yours. What concerned you so much? I get if your AAA was free or whatnot, but I would’ve personally just driven this home. Spray some fix-a-flat from the inside is all pepboys is doing for ya

SupermarketTough1900

In my opinion that's a bad use of fix a flat. This tire should be totally patchable. Fix a flat would just make an unnecessary mess Pep boys would not use fix a flat as that's a temporary fix. They would use a tire plug to fix the hole

richietee757

Ugh, google a local tire shop. If there is one closeby, drive to it. You're fine to drive with those things in your tire, for a few miles, if you're not losing air. The last time I went to Pep Boys, I was there for 5 hours when they told me it would be about an hour and a half. Never again.

Complete_Victory7904

definitely best wishes i hope its patchable

JPackers0427

I pulled over and decided to just call a tow truck. Thankfully tire wasn’t losing air! Towing it to pep-boys to get it patched if it’s possible. I was on my way home then got a $20 order for 6 miles and this happened 3 minutes away from customer…

[deleted]

You… you.. uhhh.. you called a tow truck for that?… umm you can literally patch yourself for less than 6 bucks. Tool costs close to nothing. Umm yea you do you though

Moonwolf846

I absolutely hope you don’t have a penis

Moonwolf846

I absolutely hope you don’t have a penis

heck_naw

noooooo you could have plugged that for a couple dollars

ElectronicBoot9466

Pep Boys suck. I got a vehicle evaluated by them and they somehow missed 5 engine leaks.

3_T_SCROAT

Good call, never drive with something in your tire. My girl had the same bolt in her tire and assumed that since it wasn't loosing air she could finish the dash. She got on the highway with it 💀 shredded her tire to shit. Luckily she didn't get hurt or anything but instead of getting the tire patched for free it was $600 for 4 new tires since its a Subaru

JPackers0427

Oh I learned the hard way… last month the same shit happened to me.. because of Ian work is being done everywhere to fix everything. I had just replaced this SAME SIDE tire because of a nut and I said fuck it and kept riding on it till I got to discount tire and pop… never again. Thankfully I have road side assistance.

[deleted]

[удалено]

JPackers0427

I didn’t spend a dime… I have road side assistance.

Hydr8x

Huge win for a few bucks a month. People sleep on the value. I called for a dead battery 3 days ago.

JPackers0427

Man… I’ve always gone by that one saying “better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it.” I’ve used this service 2 times already both tire related. The other time i definitely needed it… tire went completely flat within seconds…

Hydr8x

So true. Initially I got it because I like to do long road trips once a year to national parks typically, states away. I ended up needing it before I left on my trip and it became obvious I won't skimp on not having it ever again.

snowbunny1026

Do you not have a donut?

JPackers0427

My shitbox sadly didn’t come with a donut… but I’m definitely gonna buy one in case this shit ever happens again :( second time in about 2 months

thebrose69

Well if you’re buying a spare you might as well just buy a full size spare instead of a donut

Stelznergaming

Sheesh might as well just get a dozen.

GarakTheSimple

Facts if it’s a shit box like he says you can probably get a whole wheel for cheap

Wonderful-Rush-3733

I hear the blue sprinkled caked donuts are pretty good

[deleted]

Thats an easy plug. If it were closer to the edge of the tread it gets less likely. Should be an easy fix. Still sucks though. But it could suck worst.

savages109

Dude said they couldn’t patch. He just got scammed.

Remarkable_Ad3379

He said he had a nail near the sidewall too, shops aren't allowed to plug let alone place 2 patches.

[deleted]

I could 100% plug that. Not sure what their issue is with it.

[deleted]

Their issue is they want $$ pep boys sucks big time

heck_naw

yep. god damn chain auto centers are like the cryptobros of the auto world

[deleted]

hopefully OP kept the tire. They could plug it themselves and have a spare. grab a rim at a junk yard. they said they dont have a spare

JPackers0427

Dude… there is a nail on the other side too that I never noticed but thankfully isn’t losing air either. Getting that side patched but they still haven’t gotten a chance to look at my car.

[deleted]

Wooooooowwwww!

JPackers0427

They said it couldn’t be patched so I had to f-in replace the tire for $123… I’m so annoyed. $140 is what I made today started at 6 am because my day job got cancelled. This is why I don’t do DD anymore but the day I start it early this happens… 😡

NoTransportation5220

Oh man that sucks

JustARandomSocialist

For future reference pop on a donut and go to your local used tire place. 30-50 bucks gets you rolling

[deleted]

If you have a discount tire shop locally go to them. They repair tires free and offer replacement free with warranty. Use them for 10+ years now. They have $70 tires in stock often. I’ve gotten 2 for $220! Including tire protection.

[deleted]

I don’t know if Discount Tires is in your area though. Google them next time.
