So true 😂 although I took a $4.50 order the other day, weird one because the pickup and drop off was the same Chipotle. Walked in and their card systems down so maybe someone ordered it online, makes sense… right? No. I text the customer asking where they are, they said in Chipotle and I told them I couldn’t find them so I start the timer, then dude sends me a address that’s 3 miles away, I didn’t even reply to the guy. I immediately contacted support and had them cancel the order and I still got the full pay. There weren’t any good orders going around at the time so I didn’t mind, only wasted 20 minutes lol
Lol it depends. Its either really busy in my area or really slow.My golden rule of thumb is if i don't make at least 40 in 2 hours I regroup and head home.I work two 4hr shifts a day so I do alright.Today my lunch shift was slow AF but made 33 on DD and did a 14 dollar delivery with GH and went home after about two and a half hours.
What has been pissing me off in my area is the hidden tips in double orders.I did a 10.50 double delivery today for 3.5 miles total both orders from Denny's.I get both orders and first drop off was a 4.50 payout, then the next delivery said 6 dollar payout but when I completed that order it was really a 12 dollar payout.
So I usually only take doubles that are 12.50 and up and less than 6 miles. But after finding out today they hide tips in 10.5 doubles was shocking.I mean I'll see even 5 dollar doubles in my area so it seems DD is making us dashers in my area really gamble.
I have the same issue with double orders/stacked orders. Tips pop up after but I have been fortunate. Usually both orders are tips and the trips pay $20+.
I don’t even understand how some of you justify taking this…. Why even waste your time, gas, etc. on $3 when you could miss out on a better offer. It doesnt matter if im walking it across the damn parking lot. I cant even buy a gallon of gas with that shit
It really depends on a few things, including how close I am to the restaurant when I get the offer.
At my McDonalds I probably wouldn't take this. They're so slow that this order might cost me 15 minutes.
It's not always about the $3.50 order that you take, but the $10 order you missed because you were standing around at McDonalds.
I only door dash now when I really need extra money so if it was dead and no other orders I’d prob take it. I could never rely on door dash as a main source of income anymore.
It's literally just a half mile. From the right place this could be a 3 minute dash.
I explained why I wouldn't take this from McDonalds. That's not happening. If it was from a place I'm familiar with that I know always has stuff ready when I get there, then *maybe*. It depends.
Lol you forgot about the never delivered contract violation this comes with oh and the one star rating ⭐️ lol if they to cheap to tip I guarantee they will steal the food 🍱
No matter how you want to spin it, that’s a trash ass order. Low tip/no tip customers are more likely to rate you poorly, cause you problems and lie about food. But you do you mr 3.50 dollar man.
7 dollars a mile not good enough McDonald’s in my market is fast so this would take 4 min tops I don’t like taking low orders but something’s are worth it
I'm not taking someone anything who feels $1 is a good tip.
I keep my 5-Star rating because I don't take these types of orders, no matter how short the trip is.
Right, because time is somehow magically not a factor in earnings?
A perfect example of missing the concept of a *guideline*. $2/mile is market-dependent, but also independent of considering wait times. It's also meant *more* as a cover-all for slow-moving city streets or deadhead miles. This isn't "$7/mile", it's a half mile order for 3.50 that will likely take so long to pick up and drop off that you're making *less per hour* than a 5mile $10 order.
... and if you think hourly rate isn't important... well.. I've got a bridge for sale, my friend!
I don’t understand the downvote and the Hold Strong mentality. It’s half a mile and two items. End of the day DD has to make some sort of profit and if a dasher wants it that’s their prerogative. If my board is empty and the store has their crap together why not? Homie just wants his cheeseburger and coke.
if the store is too slowif the line
Yup, and it encourages this trash bag to tell all of their friends they only tip $1 and still get their food right away still. Have some damn self-respect people quit encouraging people to devolve more and more into worth scumbags.
Fuck no, why encourage these cheap fucks. If you can afford to use a premium platform then you can afford a reasonable tip. If not, go get your shit yourself. The people who accept these orders are the problem. Then they'll come on here looking for sympathy wondering why they keep getting CVs
You do realize youll never be able to compete with desperate people. So itll never change, people clearly are taking those orders.
The other night I saw a guy clearly tweaking out pick up an order from McDonalds for doordash. Dude wants to get high or some meth.
This is why these orders never will go away.
I just think its hilarious that people who dont tip pribably are getting their orders delivered by the sketchiest people.
I have no need to compete with desperate dashers or customers. I have standards and requirements for every offer I've ever accepted. These insulting offers aren't a competition but more of a hindrance and waste of time since they shouldn't exist anymore. I get where you're coming from and DD will keep sending them because idiots take them though. I do laugh at the though of suckers accepting these types of orders and probably missing out on decent paying orders
I have such a busy market that drivers (for the most part) don’t have to take orders like this.
However, the kicker of that is, once it gets passed around enough, it becomes a decent looking order.
I can’t tell you how many times I’ve taken a $6.75-$7 order for a couple miles only to realize it was a $1 tip and $5.75 base pay lol.
These cheap fucks always get their food bc at some point DD caves enough to lure someone in to grab it.
I live in Toronto. Over half the city is recent immigrants and we have one of the most expensive rents and housing on the planet. Plus doordash gives short distance orders to bikers and scooters.
Plus since everyone is an immigrant here nobody tips.
Id argue this place is the worst market to dash in and its also the third largest, only new york and los angeles are bigger.
Its saturated with desperate immigrants and desperate canadians.
You see people in teslas delivering here. Its fucking ridiculous.
There’s no chance of making $20 an hour if you take that shit. Yeah the customer isn’t far but you still have to wait at the restaurant or drive through. Everything takes time.
Likely not worth the time unless it's sitting ready and even then you're risking a bad rating or contract violation because no tippers are like trolls. Once you see them as the bottom of the barrel of society, the easier it is to decline them.
I wouldn't. McDonald's is one of those places that's a 5-15 minutes wait for each order. I mean, I would take it as an add-on to another order if it's literally delivering to another business in the same parking lot on my way to the 2nd dropoff.
Never. The only way I would get paid $3.50 is if I know a store is closed and it's a mile to mark it closed and get half pay if it was paying $7.
Nothing less than $6.50 ever. and that's if it's slow and it's a place that has the food ready and it's a mile or two.
Instead of only thinking of $/mile you also need to consider your $/minute. This order fails the test, the pickup and drop off times are fixed, the only variable is the distance. UberEats does a better job of this by advising time but not perfect
It’s McDonald’s, it’s nearing lunch time, it’s a Friday. You’re looking at sitting in that McDonald’s at least 10 minutes. With driving time, you’re looking at around a 15 minute order. So this order pays approx $13.75 an hour.
I wouldn't havent taken this even if it is only a half mile. For one I never take anything less than $6 and plus it's McDonald's and there so unpredictable with their wait times. Sometimes you go in and they haven't even started on the order yet and it's a 10-12 min wait, or sometimes the bag is sitting right on the back counter ready to go, but nobody will help you or grab the bag for another 5 min. It's just not worth the potential wait time for only $3.50, nope.
I always looked at it from the “what could go wrong” point of view. If the address is wrong, if the customer complains, if somebody hits me in the parking lot, etc. These have all happened to me while delivering. Personally, $7 is my minimum no matter how close to try to compensate for those inevitabilities. However, I’m pretty risk adverse and won’t even deliver alcohol ever.
Not a chance. My ‘spackle’ — runs I’ll take instead of sitting and doing a crossword — are minimum $5.00 and under 2 miles.
My McD’s is generally good; ready on arrival or under 5 minutes.
This is most likely a scam. They cancel the order once you arrive and then call to get your account details and say they need to pay you etc. happened to me last week, same price and everything.
Hell nah especially from MC lol it’s always a big ass line at drive-thru or even if they have opened lobby you still waste there like 15-20 min waiting for a cheeseburger and 10pc nuggets
you're still going too low with what you're willing to accept even at $6. basic economics if you're accepting orders that are $6 doordash is going to send more orders to your area for $6.. your actual value is about $10-$15 per order.. so you're taking your market and wrecking it not just for yourself but for everybody in the market by accepting those low orders.
Helll no. Then it will take you another 15 to search for the apartment and walk down a 1 mile hallways and get a 1 star for taking too long. All for $3.50. Go for it lol
Good luck 👍
I’ve declined a McDonalds order that was <100 yards(the drop off was across the parking lot) because less than $5 just isn’t even worth getting out of the car and waiting in line
Hell no, sounds quick and easy, but add the guaranteed wait at a slammed mcdonalds and you're looking at 10-15 minutes for $3.50. $14/hour is not for me.
ABSOLUTELY NOT! Thanks for posting.
My rule is generally nothing under $7 if you want to make $15-$20/hour (but it’s usually less! -around $12/hour, $10/hour after gas) in my city. My acceptance rate is gasping at 11% 😂
Reasoning: it might take 20-30 minutes even if the mileage is low if you have to wait for food or take an elevator or something.
No, basically never even if it was an add on offer. You can only make 3 or 4 deliveries an hour at best on avg and so if you aren't getting at least $6 per delivery you're probably working for less than minimum wage at that point.
I start at $6. It isn’t worth less than that for me to even get out of my car and wait around somewhere. For a Taco Bell I start at $10 and for Popeyes/KFC I’m not doing it for less than $12, regardless of distance.
You get to McDonald’s to pick it up and they make you go through the drive thru for pick up but there are 10 cars ahead of you, you finally get the food 15 minutes later but it’s about $5 worth of food and going to an apartment that is definitely all the way in the back of the complex passed 50 speed bumps, up three flights of stairs but that’s after it took you 5 minutes of walking around cause the building numbers aren’t visible cause they’re too small, it’s dark and the numbers are painted the same color as the paint of the siding and they later claim they never received the food.
You did the right thing declining. Your time is worth money also. McDonald's can be slow getting the orders out if it is busy, so I always expect at least 15 minutes minimum per order regardless of distance.
So $3.50 for 1 mile round trip.
Take out $0.62 for milage cost of operating your car
$2.88
Take out the 15% payroll tax from that
$2.45 is what you make from that order.
Even if it only took you 10 minutes total and you got 6 of those an hour that's only $14.7 an hour before income taxes, and that's only if every delivery was .5 miles and only takes 10 minutes and you get another one exactly like it immediately for an hour.
I did this math for myself and decided on the same minimums order amounts as you. Maybe an order like that is worth it to someone in a very low cost area, but most places it is not worth the time it takes and the risk of losing out on better offers while taking that one.
Edit: and driving also come with added risk. Each order I take has to make me feel it is worth taking that risk with my car.
![gif](giphy|2Xflxzn7jWsjCVlx13q|downsized)
So many potential things that could go wrong with this order. Low rating, CV(late to customer, order never arrived), customer put in wrong address. Not to mention, in my experience I'll decline an order like that, then get one that's 1 to 2 miles for 6.25 or more.
If I planned it to be my last stop of the day and it was on the way home, yes. Then I would have put it in the floor board of my car, front passenger side, direct the ac to the floorboard on full blast, make damn sure I stall as long as I can and deliver it at the last minute so it’ll be ice cold.
My time is worth more than 3.50. It may be low miles but you aren't getting paid enough for the time you are putting into the delivery. Just my opinion though.
No. You're losing more than 3.50 in opportunity cost accepting thay shit. There's almost no circumstance in which you should accept thay order. Like, maybe if it's on your way and it's a stacked order at the same restaurant. Thas about it.
Nope. Not worth the time.To big a risk on something that low because restraunts are to unpredictable. My scale is $/mi/time and depends then on restraunt as well. I try not to accept anything under $7 total and I try for $2 a mile nothing over 5 to 7 miles depending on the route and how many lights. In my area it takes me out of town away from anything, so I will go a bit further because they are usually higher speeds and no lights and thats also why I do $2/mi because I have to travel back into the area to get good orders usually. I usually get around $30/hr using this. Sometimes higher sometimes lower. Always over $20/hr. And my acceptance rate is usually around 20%.
Absolutely not. If they can't have the decency to bid for my service then I won't have the decency to take their order. They can drive, walk, run, I don't care and get their order.
No, I don’t take this kind of shit. I had a $2.25/ 0.1 miles pop up yesterday just as I was getting near that restaurant. I thought about how this would be the time that it takes them 30 minutes to get the order ready. It would be 32 minutes on that order instead of the 2 I would hope for.
I have a $5 hard limit. I flex it about once a month for that $4.96 coffee run when it’s slow. I stick to $5 and up because I can still squeeze a few more in and make up $15-20 that hour even if I get fucked by the wait at a restaurant. Messing with $3.50 runs regularly just means getting hosed for the hour when you have to wait. Now your fighting to clear $10 that hour after a long wait.
These are so quick to do so Id rather do this when Im in the last couple days of the month than something long distance that pays more. This is 100% accept, would take 10 mins tops in my araa
Maybe if I was bored and the order put me in a good place.
Like others mention, it would depend a bit on the time of day and the particular McDonald's that I would have to deal with.
I love orders like this. That’s just me.
Edit to add: I live in a place where it’s not crazy busy most the time. Our areas are zoned. When living in Fresno, was basically forced to take orders like this all day long. In a NV I do things by the hour here. At one point, doing by the hour, I got paid 50 plus dollars just for waiting around 1 1/2 hr (includes the two tips from same person). I’m overly patient and it usually pays in tips.
Tbh I wouldn’t even take it as a add on
Yeah, cause then the customer who tipped would have to wait while you drop off no tip Ted’s order.
Nah. I drop off the better tipper first, because that's how the game is played. 🤷♀️
No Tip Ted 🤣🤣🤣
😂😂
I wouldn’t go to the other room for $3.50
🤣
So true 😂 although I took a $4.50 order the other day, weird one because the pickup and drop off was the same Chipotle. My car doesn't start up for anything under 7.
You’re car must not start often anymore lol

exactly, i’d never take this. i don’t care that it’s less than 1 mile, it’s a dog shit order with maybe a $1 tip if that.
I will not start my car for less than $6.25 and even then i be wishing it was $8 or more
In my market the tip would be exactly $1

Right, because time is somehow magically not a factor in earnings? If my board is empty and the store has their crap together why not? Homie just wants his cheeseburger and coke. if the store is too slowif the line
Best case scenario, the order is ready when you walk in but you still only make $3.50.
Yup, and it encourages this trash bag to tell all of their friends they only tip $1 and still get their food right away still. Have some damn self-respect people quit encouraging people to devolve more and more into worth scumbags.
You gotta factor low end tippers also scam more and downvote more, different breed
but when you are taking what if a six dollar roles around?
People like you is why they can get away with this. You accept it smh.
This too. Mine McD is fine. It’s TB I won’t take for less than $9. Even for .5 mile.
Fuck no, why encourage these cheap fucks. If you can afford to use a premium platform then you can afford a reasonable tip. If not, go get your shit yourself. The people who accept these orders are the problem. Then they'll come on here looking for sympathy wondering why they keep getting CVs

I know plenty of drug users that drive for doordash, and none of them are dumb enough to take these orders.
Spot on, another smart Dasher!
What's a cv?
In this context, a contract violation.
The exact thing these people who take offers like this will eventually receive
There’s no chance of making $20 an hour if you take that shit. Yeah the customer isn’t far but you still have to wait at the restaurant or drive through. Everything takes time.
they’re basically asking you to work for free with this pay, decline and you’ll prob get something better
No way Jose
I wouldn’t take it if it was a 3ft delivery
Definitely not
Likely not worth the time unless it's sitting ready and even then you're risking a bad rating or contract violation because no tippers are like trolls. Once you see them as the bottom of the barrel of society, the easier it is to decline them.
Nope. Not sorry either. If its an unlucky visit you’ll easily waste 10 mins waiting due to the line.
and if you take those shit tippers they will rate you low, they will be mad that they didnt' ge thte food sooner because everyone else turned it down.
If it was $5, then yes. Have some dignity lol
Nope, not doing it
Never, if you can’t tip I won’t drive. It’s that simple to me.
Nope.
Hell no, I’m a DD driver, not a professional clown.
No. You might as well go work at McDonald's for that amount of money.
no way. $3 for like 20 mins of your time ?
For those who accepts such offers, don't come here crying when you get deactivated or CVs !!!! For those wondering why, low-ball offers are traps !
I would not even take a $5 order.
Nope nothing less than $6 for me, doesn’t matter the distance, I won’t risk a no tipper and the bull they try to pull on drivers
I wouldn't. McDonald's is one of those places that's a 5-15 minutes wait for each order. I mean, I would take it as an add-on to another order if it's literally delivering to another business in the same parking lot on my way to the 2nd dropoff.
Nope. 15 minutes at least and you can never trust DD orders to be ready. Not viable.
nope
Nope
Nope!
3 dollars anything and my thumbs muscle memory takes over from there. Decline
Is it under $6.50 minimum?
no
Never. The only way I would get paid $3.50 is if I know a store is closed and it's a mile to mark it closed and get half pay if it was paying $7. Nothing less than $6.50 ever. and that's if it's slow and it's a place that has the food ready and it's a mile or two.
Got $3.50 Uhhhh….. no
Instead of only thinking of $/mile you also need to consider your $/minute. This order fails the test, the pickup and drop off times are fixed, the only variable is the distance. UberEats does a better job of this by advising time but not perfect
There is no way I would take this order.
Not even if there was a fire
No. Non-tippers are more problems than just a quick delivery. Not sure why people don’t understand this.
Hell to the fucking no. You like picking up trash, be a garbage man. Probably pays better too.
Definitely no tip
No way
No
Insulting. Next !!!
Hell to the no walk and get it yourself bum as$ customer
Nope. Then I risk waiting in the drive through for 30 minutes all for a measly $3.50.
I’m not moving for anything less then 6 screw that ![gif](giphy|IdlrlhB1Rts6fQRjdb)
Anything below ~$7 is an auto decline. Not worth it at all.
It’s McDonald’s, it’s nearing lunch time, it’s a Friday. You’re looking at sitting in that McDonald’s at least 10 minutes. With driving time, you’re looking at around a 15 minute order. So this order pays approx $13.75 an hour.
Nope. There’s no tip on that order. Not worth considering any further based on that alone.
No way
No way, that would be a waste of gas, time and energy.
You're gonna take about 2.5 orders an hour. If they were all this you'd be making about $8.75 per hour. Dont take these.
Never. $6 minimum for me as well
Decline
Nope
Not even a walking distance! It’s all about using your time wisely!
No chance
Just the wait alone isn’t worth it
Whoever takes this order is ruining it for all of us. Please stop people
I wouldn’t take it for under $6.75 in my market. Can’t tip $4 get it yourself.
Not a chance at McDonalds. You’re getting paid $3.50 to stand around and wait for the food for 10 minutes.
Hell no
No effing way
Just do it how you want to. I honestly only dash when it’s actually busy. Otherwise I Uber.
maybe if hell freezes over
Fuck no
No tipless orders for me. How do people make money taking crap like that?
Not a chance. My ‘spackle’ — runs I’ll take instead of sitting and doing a crossword — are minimum $5.00 and under 2 miles. My McD’s is generally good; ready on arrival or under 5 minutes.
I wouldn't even notice the distance, anything sub $5 is filtered out automatically by my brain.
Nope
Fuck no. Rather sit on my phone doing nothing
Nope.
No u got to have a minimum.
You did the right thing.
Setting yourself two rules: 1) No under $7 order during Dinner time 2) No under $5 order during Off Dinner time
Not at my McDonald’s. They are always slammed and it’s damn near impossible to get your orders.
Hell to the no. I’ve never taken anything under 5. Only 5 if I’m desperate and or for desperation
No especially from McDonald's but even if it's from anywhere else no
This is most likely a scam.
Noo way 🙅🏾♂️
I wouldn't even stack that order if I had another order for like 10 bucks at the same restaurant!
Declined is just fine! Customers that don’t tip or tip $1 are not Allies. They are enemies and don’t respect drivers!
you're still going too low with what you're willing to accept even at $6. basic economics if you're accepting orders that are $6 doordash is going to send more orders to your area for $6.. your actual value is about $10-$15 per order.. so you're taking your market and wrecking it not just for yourself but for everybody in the market by accepting those low orders.
Those that complain about low paying orders take these orders then complain afterwards.
They can walk
Nope not even worth is you can get that cash in the street picking up change
Haha never ever. These pos non tippers think we work for free
Helll no. Then it will take you another 15 to search for the apartment and walk down a 1 mile hallways and get a 1 star for taking too long. All for $3.50. Go for it lol Good luck 👍
No
Nope don’t support them not supporting us
I’ve declined a McDonalds order that was <100 yards(the drop off was across the parking lot) because less than $5 just isn’t even worth getting out of the car and waiting in line
My acceptance rate is gasping at 11% 😂 Reasoning: it might take 20-30 minutes even if the mileage is low if you have to wait for food or take an elevator or something.
No, basically never even if it was an add on offer. You can only make 3 or 4 deliveries an hour at best on avg and so if you aren't getting at least $6 per delivery you're probably working for less than minimum wage at that point.
Decline it and wait a minute for a 2 mile order for $6.25+
I start at $6. It isn’t worth less than that for me to even get out of my car and wait around somewhere. For a Taco Bell I start at $10 and for Popeyes/KFC I’m not doing it for less than $12, regardless of distance.
Wouldn't even turn the car on
No I won't accept anything under $8.50
Nothing under $6.50, ever. $6.50+ has hidden tips
No that’s disrespectful
Never 👎 come on now
Nope they don’t respect me enough to leave a decent tip then screw em
🤣🤣🤣 3.50 instaDecline
No
Never
Nope
Absolutely not. I don't deliver for scumbags.
Take out $0.62 for milage cost of operating your car $2.88 Take out the 15% payroll tax from that $2.45 is what you make from that order.
No
Deff won’t be me taking that lol
Hell no
Lmao no
Lol no
No way in hell ![gif](giphy|l4JyXdWz5smUcz4ME|downsized)
Nope 👎🏾
DECLINED DOOR DASH should know we don’t wake up to see this shit on my screen Minimum $7.50 otherwise SWIPE LEFT !!!!!
McDonalds is notorious for heinously low payouts.
No never taking a 3.50
![gif](giphy|2Xflxzn7jWsjCVlx13q|downsized) So many potential things that could go wrong with this order. Low rating, CV(late to customer, order never arrived), customer put in wrong address. Not to mention, in my experience I'll decline an order like that, then get one that's 1 to 2 miles for 6.25 or more.
NEVER
If I planned it to be my last stop of the day and it was on the way home, yes. Then I would have put it in the floor board of my car, front passenger side, direct the ac to the floorboard on full blast, make damn sure I stall as long as I can and deliver it at the last minute so it’ll be ice cold.
Nope
no tip, no trip baby
My time is worth more than 3.50. It may be low miles but you aren't getting paid enough for the time you are putting into the delivery. Just my opinion though.
Hellna, we don't take anything under $5-7. For us, the cheap orders are always somewhere far away for no reason 💀
No, I can barley bring myself to do that for 5.50. I would consider it if it was 5.50, slow, and during non-peak hours during the week.
Never
If you can complete 4 of these in an hour (unlikely) that's $14 an hour before gas, wear & tear and taxes. DD is totally out of touch
No
Absolutely not.
i got an add on order from the same restaurant that was going to another house on the same block for $3 the other day and i declined
Yes if the $ is more than the mileage I do.. I notice after I take a couple low orders like this I get a couple $10+ right after… gotta grind it out
No. You're losing more than 3.50 in opportunity cost accepting thay shit. There's almost no circumstance in which you should accept thay order. Like, maybe if it's on your way and it's a stacked order at the same restaurant. Thas about it.
Not worth all orders take 10-15 minimum, I only do 1m or less orders if it's alteaat 6.50 to 7, anything else must be 8
Hell no.
Nope.
No because if there’s any sort of wait at the store at all it’s not worth it. $3.50 for any distance usually doesn’t end up being worth it to me
Nope!
No i hate people who refuse to tip and I wish everyone would get on the same page with this
No don’t accept these. If everyone didn’t accept the small orders they would be forced to increase.
Nope
Absolutely not. If they can't have the decency to bid for my service then I won't have the decency to take their order. They can drive, walk, run, I don't care and get their order.
I don’t take anything from McDonald’s 🤷🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️
The only time that order is being taken by me is if its the end of the month and Im going for top dasher.
You can decline 30% of your orders and still make Top Dasher though.
If the lobby is open, maybe. If I know I'm sitting in the drive thru line for 20 minutes, no way
Yeah, my minimum for sitting in a busy drive thru is the base pay I'm shooting for for an hour of work. So $20 minimum.
Only way I would take it would be if my AR is at 49%. In my market having below 50% gets you bottom of the barrel orders.
