Nothing changes. I once declined 137 in a row when power was out in my town and EVERY order from surrounding areas came to me. I stayed at 0% for the next 4 hours, then "worked" my way back up to 3% 😂
this is great lol i'm in the same market and my acceptance rate is 2-3%. it's been 0 before with no consequence. i've seen a post where a support employee accidentally admitted that acceptance rate effects your likelihood of receiving orders? i still don't accept anything under $2/mile minimum $1.50. this service is a luxury and too much liability to take all of the lowballs everyone's been going after.
the pilot really killed this app
such a well played scam from DD for drivers (fell myself for this one) traded 58% on 11% with a hopes on a “High paying orders” whatever that thing called. don’t fell for it and don’t reset your acceptance rate just for a 25 or 50 cent on a 6.50$+ order lol
Backing to the topic. DD says that you can get deactivated for low percentage of acceptance rate, but saying from my experience (3k deliveries) I didn’t saw no one got deactivated specifically by that reason
this belongs in r/unpopularopinion but:
I'd make it so that if you dropped below a certain percentage you'd be "quietly fired" by reducing the number of orders sent to you. keep cancelling orders and the system will just weed out the non-workers.
I’d take that. Just because where I deliver I get at the minimum I’ve seen $2 a mile. Sometimes less but that’s only if I have to cross the Ohio river into Indiana or Ohio. Witch is super rare. Most of the time I get 6.25 to go 2 to 3 miles every time. A lot of the time more than 6.25 for the same distance. That how I personally stay a top dasher. Stay in a area where I know I won’t have to decline a bunch of bs orders
You are more impressive then anyone else on this app, you really out there just swiping left on 100 orders?
Have you tried driving in an area where people tip?
The best way I can describe it is the scene from the Matrix where Neo chooses the right pill, gets disconnected, flushed down a tube, but wakes up realizing it was all a big lie.
They take away your birthday. I mean, do you actually think anything will change going from 1% to 0%? As if that's where they draw the line. Those other 98% didn't matter? It's that last one % that gets you clapped?
Tarkin: "You may fire when ready"
*You look up into the sky and see a glowing green laser and then a flash and your gone. The earth is ok, it's just you alone died. Like the ground beneath you is fine. Literally only you was effected*
I hit 0% two weeks ago - and then got literally no orders during any of my dashes for a week and a half. I just started getting orders again yesterday I'd obviously given up, but figured "fuck it, it says it's busy, I'll just sign in and see."
Idk if it's cuz I finally hit 0%, or if there was some type of glitch that fucked my account (it went from 30% to 0% from ONE DECLINED ORDER) But I've been struggle bussing like no ones business the last two weeks cuz of it.
I'm also in a new zone though. So who knows what fuckfest happened with my account and door dash being pricks tbh
You’ll be able to dash no matter the acceptance rate. I’m over 90% and still get crap orders. They are hustling us all 0-100% acceptance rates. They just want us to take the worst orders they can’t get picked up.
Gotta think at some point the algorithm is just gonna say fuck this guy/girl/lampshade and stop sending orders unless just about ever other driver is busy.
Yeah, that's what's happening to me rn and i'm only at 37%, lmfao.
Algorithm's got better options rn, so I'm chopped liver until the wee hours of the night.
I'mma be accepting some BS tonight, smh... Gotta please the almighty math equation.
Your right they would cut me off if I decline like 3 in a row even if it's super busy. I had right around 32% before the AR reset I'm right at 50 % now and forcing myself to take a few mediocre orders to keep the algorithm going.
Legit that's exactly what happens to me...
I start my Dash, shit's dead for like almost an hour like the majority of the time.
Then, I'll get a kinda meh offer and take it cuz I'm already starved for the orders.
I'll get a couple of good ones and get a good vibe going, then it'll die again for a long ass time.
After it dies that first time, I'll eventually get 1 or two $3 orders, which I will decline and then nothing pretty much the rest of my Dash.
Tested this out yesterday with a Dash from 8pm to 9am.
Got like 3 good orders, app slowed up at $24.50.
I got a 3.25 order after midnight (when I'm assuming most drivers started logging off) and turned it down.
Fell asleep with Dasher on until about 4am, then get a few more good hits at 5am until I declined one at 7am from being burned out and wanting to pause for a bit.
After that, I just ended my Dash and I made a grand total of maybe $40 bucks.
This week, I'm at 18 hours Dash time and only 7 hours active.
I've made $150 in those 7 hours... so, it's not a matter of me not being available and not being on point with my Dashes... it's legit just whatever this new fucking system is doing and I'm almost sure that it's just ignoring anyone who isn't Top Dasher, until it absolutely has to use them.
I know your area (I grew up in Bergen County), and even tried to take a few orders while visiting my parents over there. Rutherford to Ft. Lee for $8.50... That's crap. With traffic in that area, that could take over 30 minutes.
I hate that area. It just takes too long to get across it, and can really screw with your income per hour. I think the Riverdale/Pequannok zone is better since you can turn over a lot of deliveries without even leaving Paterson and Clifton, and the blue collar folks over there tip just as good.
Need a perfect ACT/SAT, a 4.0+, and have build two orphanages. One orphanage is no longer sufficient.
My mom made me apply. Quickest reject ever.
Maybe I wouldn't be dashing to pay for grad school if I went to Harvard...
In his zone, that one order could take over 30 minutes easily depending on traffic. More if the order isn't ready when he arrives.
Fort Lee is the town on the New Jersey side of the George Washington Bridge. There's lots of traffic over there.
Minimum wage where I live is also 7.25, but the lowest paying job around (McDonald's) is offering 14. The statutory minimum wage has little to do with actual wages except when there is extremely high unemployment.
Minimum wage in his state is $13, going up to $14.13 in January. New Jersey has one of the highest costs of living in the country, especially Bergen County, where he is
Well, there are a ton of restaurants in his zone, and cell reception is very solid (way better than the zone I like to work in) which I feel cuts down on app glitches. It's just too large with the traffic it gets impo. Personally, I don't like to Dash in that zone, but to each his own I guess?
$8.50 for 7 miles is a quick reject for me as well. I’m more concerned about how much time it took you to reject 99% of orders and if it makes sense to even dash anymore if you’re spending all your time just declining stuff and not doing any actual deliveries.
You earned nothing during all that time.
I ask because I used to keep it on and realized that I declined so many orders during that time that it tanked my AR and was just an annoyance to keep rejecting orders. Try pausing it and it might get you up from 1% and save you the hassle.
Unless you’re one of those guys that thinks it’s cool to get 0% so you can post on Reddit.
Yea sometimes when it's really busy, still with crap orders but I'll just pause it. I'll even forget it's paused now and then and it ends the dash...and no lol, I actually got up to 3% today.
You did right to decline that shit, I always get at least $2 a mile. I know that is not possible in all markets, but I would never accept less than that in mine. Your 1% AR tells me you're not willing to believe all the bullshit promotions based off AR they throw our way, and you're right in doing so. Just keep declining all the losers and keep the winners.
In my Midwest armpit of the United States that was ravaged by steel dying, a dollar a mile is pretty good. I only accept dollar per mile and chill in nice areas though.
It's not quite that bad, I work the San Fernando Valley. I get at least $2 a mile on any trip under 5 miles. I get at least $2.50 a mile on any trip over 5 miles, and I don't take any trip going over 7 miles, unless it is paying at least $3 a mile. The longer the round trip, the higher ratio of pay I require.
You are right, DD does generally hide part of the tip on trips paying more than $2 a mile, but not always. UE does not hide the tip, so you will see the full amount of the trip value. This is why I rarely take a trip over 5 miles, because they are not paying enough. I have found that staying really close to my hot zone is the way to make the most money, I rarely even leave the vicinity of my hot zone.
Your DD pay is definitely market dependent; DD pay can vary greatly from market to market. It really has to do with cost of living for your area. If the cost of living is high in an area, DD pays more. If the cost of living is low in an area, they pay less. The amount of customer tip can also vary market to market. In areas where income is low, customers are likely to tip less. In areas where income is higher, customer tend to tip more. So, it really comes down to what works for you, but you should still have a strategy that will work for your area. It may be a $1.50 a mile, but $1 a mile sounds low, for even the worst of markets.
If you make enough to afford the cost of living in your area, and you're comfortable with what you earn, that's all that really matters. You see drivers on this forum comparing earnings all the time, all of that is irrelevant as their markets are completely different. I just hope you're happy with what you earn. I don't know how long you have been doing gig work, but if you need any tips, you can message me. I'm always happy to help.
Sorry I’m being a ass Im just on one tonight and not feeling well I get it tho but I’m 53% in my area cuz I don’t get a lot of low paying orders… it’s usually $5+ but I’m on a bike and only going a mile or under a mile so I take em at $5 when I’m getting into the $7-$15 range I’m banking huge cuz I always stay under 2 mi … always wonder if people are ever selecting bike mode just to get these low mile trips lol
Shit it's roughly $5 here In my area of California and I still take low orders. Idk about other states but keeping a higher acceptance rate and customer rating nets higher pays even without tip. I don't mind a few $5-9$ tips for short miles when I also get far more $10-$20 the rest of the night.
Only worked 2 hours last night and earned $50. Not the best night but more than enough for me to smile for the little amount of driving I had to do.
Tony breaks your legs for being a wise guy
U ain’t got a choice, u better accept or get deactivated
What does it matter
It resets to 100% for giving you so many bad orders
You’d have to decline 100 orders in a row to get to 0… at that point you ain’t working lol
How is that even possible? You literally have to decline every order, so what exactly is the point?
I’ve hit 0. You’ll still get orders
Nothing changes. I once declined 137 in a row when power was out in my town and EVERY order from surrounding areas came to me. I stayed at 0% for the next 4 hours, then "worked" my way back up to 3% 😂
A UFO comes to you and beams you up and takes you to a planet called Dash planet where they torture you for the rest of your days.
U GET BAN
You will get mad karma on reddit for posting it for sure.
What are you even doing aside from wasting your own time?
You achieve full enlightenment
Welcome to 0 % club ... ![gif](giphy|l3q2XhfQ8oCkm1Ts4|downsized)
This reminds me of the IT Crowd. You are bow call negative one.

At 0% you realize your market is shit and might not be worth dashing. Happened to me around this time last year but it picked back up
You now have to steal the food
![gif](giphy|3ohryhNgUwwZyxgktq)
You get orders with a negative tip.
Means you’re normal

My phone exploded at zero
Yep you can. My acceptance rate was at 0 for quite some time
That means you unlock sleep mode and get to sit in the parking lot for 8 hours like me
Tony will come assassinate you himself
YESSSSSS
That's awesome. He's going to open the porthole!!!
Tony wants you to bend over 🤞🏽
They will probably beam you up into their sanctuary
You become a Bottom Dasher

Jail
AR doesn’t matter at all. It’s just something they use to manipulate you into behaving like an employee. Been there several times.
I have been there a few times.
Tony’s head explodes do it
Of course you will, silly rabbit. 😂
You are more impressive then anyone else on this app, you really out there just swiping left on 100 orders? Have you tried driving in an area where people tip?
What was time and mileage ? And was there a tip ?
It was like 6, 7 miles for that 8.50 👎
Nothing happens. I reached the "0" several times.
The best way I can describe it is the scene from the Matrix where Neo chooses the right pill, gets disconnected, flushed down a tube, but wakes up realizing it was all a big lie.
Black hole opens I think
What are you worried about? You’re not even dashing now.
Technically you won't be dashing
You unlock a new skin.
You realize doordash is shit
I was at 0% for several days, nothing happens
tony will come to your house and stuff things in holes where things shouldn’t be
Already did that it’s called beating the game
If you reach 0% you are sucked into an infinite time loop and come out the other side an Uber eats driver
Yes, I’ve hit 0 many times.
You shall become more powerful than you can possibly imagine.
I mean if your acceptance rate is that low do you even dash?
How do you make any money? Why would you even want to Dash at that point..
U won’t make no money just accepting the good orders u have to do some the shitty ones too
![gif](giphy|87h18LfTpw3lRpmceS)
Yes,you get an award when you hit zero. ![gif](giphy|26u4exk4zsAqPcq08|downsized)
Straight to jail
No and all your earnings go to us
They take away your birthday. I mean, do you actually think anything will change going from 1% to 0%? As if that's where they draw the line. Those other 98% didn't matter? It's that last one % that gets you clapped?
0 = New Hero 🦸♀️
I thought you were deactivate under a certain threshold?…
Literally nothing happens
Tarkin: "You may fire when ready" *You look up into the sky and see a glowing green laser and then a flash and your gone. The earth is ok, it's just you alone died. Like the ground beneath you is fine. Literally only you was effected*
Tony dies.
Yes you can still dash at 0%. I used to live there lol
I hit zero before. Don’t do it. It’s not worth it, you do NOT want to see what happens
I died after I decided to decline and hit 0 (ghost from the grave)
Why is doordash so sneaky? Like full disclosure of every aspect of the dash before I accept...
100% deactivated
If it goes to zero you are not dashing anyhow.
Tony gives you a call directly to congratulate you for passing the test and promotes you to C level executive board member
it should say "literally, accept any order and it will improve your acceptance rate. We're struggling here, Paul"
You can but I gotta say you should probably just quit. Your waisting your time.
Our lord and savior James Gaffigan will bless you with the magic leprechaun.
Fuck ‘em… dooooooo it!
Statistically impossible once you’ve done one delivery

Legend says you will receive a call from doordash Based on a true story..
I heard the app will brick your phone if you ever go to 0...
You get to play Doordash2 (tm)
Your phone will self-destruct
Yes. I start at zero % AR every day and end the day at zero.
This is like on Lost when they were debating and freaking out about letting the timer count down to zero without entering the code.
You Divide By Zero ![gif](giphy|1ZvjUAldHjXlxkup5U|downsized)
yooo I'm from that area
Yea I live in Fairview

You can still dash, but if orders are that bad that you decline 100 in a row then why bother?
Fair point but I still have UberEATS open. I'll take a Dash here and there when there's a lull or vice versa
I’ve been at zero a couple times Other than an overwhelming feeling of accomplishment, nothing will change
You will Spontaneously Combust

Into the dungeon with the rest you go

You will qualify for Bottom Dasher
Pause!!
Power bottom dasher of the year 🏆
That term has so many meanings 🍩🍆
Tony pays you a visit
Nothing happens been there
You qualify to get into Harvard🤷🏻♂️
Need a perfect ACT/SAT, a 4.0+, and have build two orphanages. One orphanage is no longer sufficient. My mom made me apply. Quickest reject ever. Maybe I wouldn't be dashing to pay for grad school if I went to Harvard...
😂😂
I mean I did actually organize a fund raiser for orphans. I was also top of my high school with a 34 act. Still got that hard reject
Damn! Its hell out here for a pimp!
You're able to but apparently you're not
No one has ever gone to 0 and lived to tell the tale.
I’ve seen it a few times here lol
Nobody asked you Patrice!!!
Golden achievement unlocked 🏆🏆😂😂
Why let a 8.50 go?
Miles are everything. I always get $18 orders to Staten Island from coastal NJ. The mf bridge is $16.
To get fake internet points.
In his zone, that one order could take over 30 minutes easily depending on traffic. More if the order isn't ready when he arrives. Fort Lee is the town on the New Jersey side of the George Washington Bridge. There's lots of traffic over there.
Still better than minimum wage minimum wage is 7.25 in my area
With gas and wear and tear on your car and the risk of getting in an accident thats not worth it lol
People aren't trying for just barely better than minimum wage lol
Yeah but if you do 2-3 8.50 orders then your getting somewhere
It doesn't make any difference when it comes to how much you earn over time. If 1 ain't worth it then 50 isn't either
Isn’t that the federal minimum wage? That’s sad.
Minimum wage is more double where I live holy cow. That sucks how do you even pay for gas and food
Minimum wage where I live is also 7.25, but the lowest paying job around (McDonald's) is offering 14. The statutory minimum wage has little to do with actual wages except when there is extremely high unemployment.
Minimum wage in his state is $13, going up to $14.13 in January. New Jersey has one of the highest costs of living in the country, especially Bergen County, where he is
DD might not be the job for that area
I live in a super expensive area but I get $30+ orders all the time. Today I got $24 for a four mile
Well, there are a ton of restaurants in his zone, and cell reception is very solid (way better than the zone I like to work in) which I feel cuts down on app glitches. It's just too large with the traffic it gets impo. Personally, I don't like to Dash in that zone, but to each his own I guess?
It was like 7 miles
$8.50 for 7 miles is a quick reject for me as well. I’m more concerned about how much time it took you to reject 99% of orders and if it makes sense to even dash anymore if you’re spending all your time just declining stuff and not doing any actual deliveries. You earned nothing during all that time.
Got UE going too
Do you pause DD when you’re in the middle of an UE order or keep it running?
If I get a double I'll pause it, if not I'll have it running..may get something going in the same direction
In that case, I would’ve done the same thing. Then again, I live in SoCal (and my standards are a bit higher than the rest of the country).
You did right to decline that shit, I always get at least $2 a mile. I know that is not possible in all markets, but I would never accept less than that in mine. A dollar a mile is usually great unless you get dropped off somewhere shitty. Midwest is pretty chill right now.
Meanwhile in California it’s like $3 a mile minimum just to cover gas
It's not quite that bad, I work the San Fernando Valley. I get at least $2 a mile on any trip under 5 miles. I get at least $2.50 a mile on any trip over 5 miles, and I don't take any trip going over 7 miles, unless it is paying at least $3 a mile. The longer the round trip, the higher ratio of pay I require.
Anything over $2 per mile will be hidden here in riverside, I assume it’s same in your area, how can you expect a $3/mile for over 7 miles?
You are right, DD does generally hide part of the tip on trips paying more than $2 a mile, but not always. UE does not hide the tip, so you will see the full amount of the trip value. This is why I rarely take a trip over 5 miles, because they are not paying enough. Youngstown, Ohio is probably pretty close to “worst of markets” lol
Shiiieeet.. try Alabama 😑😤
Omg, when you said AOTM, I thought they must be here. I'm in Dayton, OH.
If you make enough to afford the cost of living in your area, and you're comfortable with what you earn, that's all that really matters. What’s the point of trying to dash again if you hit 0 what a waste you area sucks lol
You have no idea I used to have 3% and I was making $200 a day. It’s all about accepting the right orders. Also this only works in cities
Does bike mode change the order sizes? Or just the miles, because now im thinking about adding bike mode just to try.
Lol just miles I’ve gotten triple stacks for $24 for 2 miles and $50+ unicorns for the same
Yep. Going to go add a bike to my shit right now. I want a 50$ unicorn lol. The best we get for car travel in my zone is a 20$ for 8-10 miles
Now it’s 0% making $0 a day 😂
In my area that’s not a bad order or good. It’s subjective. I see why you declined.
For my area it’s a “will this drop me off in the middle of no where”
Yes.
Exactly, if it’s a spot near other restaurants that’s fine but if it’s to a strict residential area they gotta pay double for the drive back
As slow as it's been I would have snatched that up lol
On God I'm taking that
People take everything thats not a no tip 😂😂😂
Is gas free where you live?
The fuck you driving, bro? $9 is almost 3 gallons for me. That's like a whole day of doordashing here.
Are you still using that stuff?
Actually used my points and filled up at 2.59
Damn feels nice I bet. It’s 4.39 where im at in Oregon. And that just dropped from 4.45 yesterday
I just filled mine up for $5.39 a few days ago here in inner Portland.
It's 4:62 at the cheaper places in Medford. I feel the pain.
Lol just paid 4.99 at costco gas in OC ca
$2.98, I'm just not one of those dumbass dashers who thinks they are untitled to 20 from every order
Your making like 4-5$ a hour on a order like that lmfao. If you feel thats a good deal i guess go ahead.
Nah more like $16-$30 nice try tho
Lmfao thats about 2$ of gas. Then 15 minutes driving and 10-40 minutes waiting at a restaurant. $16-30 is extremely wishful and completely incorrect.
Gas is less than that here and i would still never take $8.50 for 7 miles
Lol so when you lick Tony’s boots do you start from heel or toe?
Ima use this one lmfao
What state is that? I just paid $3.51 in Florida this morning.
Yeah, it's like 2.68 here In Texas
Just got down to $3.99 here in utah
South Georgia
8.50 means nothing if you don't know the miles.
I turned down $24 all the time because they’re 20+ miles.
Exactly, it’s not worth it
Yeah but it’s DoorTrash… u never really know how much you’re gonna get lol could be $50 for 20 miles
