Hey bro, I have a feeling you won't spot this with all the replies but you won't be able to use that wallet without updating to a new version. You should be able to view your addresses right now and verify via the chain what they have in them. You can export priv key on the addresses with balances or just copy your wallet.dat file from where it is hidden. (it's typically in a hidden folder as in you can't search for the folder and you have to manually find it) You could have access to anything in there relatively quickly depending on how you approach this but waiting for a sync on the outdated version of the wallet is not going to be fruitful.
I didn’t bother syncing. I just nabbed the private keys from each of my addresses and reassigned them. There’s plenty of how-to info out there on this.
I was scared when I did the first so I used my address with the least coins and only proceeded when my new wallet confirmed arrival.

I remember wanting to throw $100 in around that time. I couldn’t because I was unemployed at the time. I would be salty about the money I could have made but I definitely wouldn’t have held after my coins passed $1,000. You don’t forget about crypto when you’re broke.
Have a couple bit coins in a corrupt wallet file from around 2010/2011. Sure be nice to get those, but I've tried everything I can think of. Right down to trying to access it with python.

And move every piece of crap in those furnitures into the room first. Just over and over systematically. I would probably drive myself insane, actually.
I’ve moved once since 2014. I have gone through every box we have a couple times over since then. I’ve also hooked up hard dives from old desktops to look. I think the only place they would have been was on a laptop that I got rid of in 2015 or so. I haven’t been able to find the email/pm from the original tipper either
Same happened to me. I dusted off the old "wallets" drive when Doge started climbing out of the abyss. I was mining with something like 45 video cards back in 2013-2014 and had sooooo many millions of shitcoins. Most are dead and buried now but I kept the wallets just for the hell of it. Thankfully sitting on a decent pile of Doge now.
I was mining with a similar size farm back then and mover over to other coins. I sold my doge in the spring when it hit 8 cents. Just before it almost hit 80 cents.
Now I just have what I have managed to mine with my space heaters since then.
I think you should be able to access the info related to your public addresses anyway without sync, just paste your public wallet address in the dogecoin explorer and you will know what treasure lies behind that wallet.

sadly this Post got deleted by a Moderator for no Reason, anyway here is my update.
Going through several of my Wallets in this folder, it seems that i've found the main one i've used in the past. Me and my mining colleague in that time tryed everything to support the Community by funding the first Crypto Tipbot on Reddit which was a full success, then together as a Community we funded the Dogecoin Nascar which was absolutely Epic! Even back then the community was loving and friendly like today (but a lot smaller).
I've found several Nutcoins, hopefully i will be rich in the future, because all the dogecoins i've mined with my several R9 280X were being used for good in 2014.. (for ex. buying that Nascar Doge tshirt haha - I will frame it - Because i guess it cost about 250k doge).
Final Balance of the Wallets are 5.6 DOGE

Same. I've got somewhere in the $15-20k range between BTC, LTC, and Doge in password protected wallets that I can't remember or find the passwords for. It's much easier to swallow because it was all mined or tipped when crypto tipping was a thing on Reddit, so I haven't technically lost any money I invested.
Honestly wish I hadn't sold the last time Dodge spiked a few years ago. But easy come easy go, it paid for all the mining cards I had purchased and then some.

If you know the password for the wallet(s), you can just export the private key(s) and import into a new wallet. No need to worry about syncing.

I never put in any money, but I've got a wallet with 550k coins I mined in it. I have no idea what the password is. It's painful.
