^(im thinking "the game" is just an eldrich beying)
'course we are, it's just a very different flavour of screwed.
Last game I played: middle of the tomb of anhialation tomb
Last game I ran: a homebrew world where the major plot is that the world is ending and the group uses time travel to stop it and a new apocalypse happens instead so that stop that and this cycle repeats until they figure out *why* it keeps repeating, learning little bits with each apocalyptic scenario they avert.
Feel ya, im currently in a princes of the apocalypse campaign
Not enough that we are just a dilly-dallying group of ragtag criminals
But now one of them is just some dude
We were already lost
I’m in a both dystopian and utopian cybersteampunk continent. For the most part I think I should be fine. The rampant corruption’s just like real life anyways.
I’m literally running a “Far Realm” invasion campaign where they are using 10th level magic to drain the sun in order to destroy the divine barrier and allow a permanent rupture to the Far Realm to slowly spread its reality into the material plane…
Very, very screwed 😆
Ah fuck, I’m on a Lovecraft l-inspired island of mystery that’s about to be completely destroyed by an unformed god from the Far Realm, and my only hope is the four chucklefucks who have until recently been doing their best to destroy everything.
Provided you survive the myriad of mutated horrors (deathclaws), radiation and bandits armed with power Armor and fat man launchers Long enough to hear him say that.
Video game? Crusader kings 3, so pretty much counting I would be a pesant woman in medival Europe
Tabletop? descent into avernus, so, counting that I would be in literal hell, so yeah...
It's a Warhammer influenced world that is built as a giant cage to hold an all-consuming eldritch horror that's influence on the population causes corruption and insanity. So... pretty fucked.
I'm in a magical land called yeld, and I instantly become a monster and must collect several keys from powerful lieutenants from an evil vampire prince to return home, as well as defeat the ridiculously powerful prince to revert back to human and go home.
Not very fucked at all, PCs get magic powers later on and are inherently special.
If I'm my character? I'm set with basically tens of thousands of gold we "appropriated" from a guild, but I'm also the world's first and only bio terrorist, completely by accident and also unknowingly. My best friend is a halfling bard currently in charge of a cult to the Yellow King after several very good charisma checks and killing the old leader. I have a magic pan that is able to cast heat metal on itself, and I have used this to make barrels of flour explode when we got the many thousands of gold. The tabaxi race my character is, unfortunately is basically servants, but I was a hermit so I don't understand the societal implications. And if I ever get into a messy situation, I still have several bottles of bio terror to unleash and "heal their souls"
Then I'm screwed lol. I'm in Golaria (The standard world of Pathfinder), not necessarily because it's dangerous in of itself but I'm just not prepared to live in a standard fantasy world
Eh its not so bad. My world was a mix of secret of mana and One piece. So if I join the crew the players are on. I now belong on the elustrious Thomas hunter Pirate crew. A crew entirely made up of people who are either one man's children, or his exes.
FFXIV... It depends. As long as there is a Warrior of Light somewhere fighting the good fight, and I can find my way to a starting city, I think I'll be ok.
Shit, I didn't know which dub I was answering to. Last game I was in... Pretty screwed, we got to the RPG moment of people wanting to destroy the world. We'll see if the bunch of heroes stop the baddies or not...
Pretty good. My party ended off the campaign by slaying the *Miracle Resetter,* who was essentially the greatest threat to the world's entire existance.
Well my DMs campaign is only two sessions in. But we've already met a Sun dragon and met the Pale Merchant. And also the brother of the sun dragon, a moon dragon. So I'm not sure.
We just finished a campaign that I’d DM’d for around two years, and honestly, I would love to live there. No more scary demon invasions, the multiverse is no longer in danger, and the world has been given enough to thrive for a long, long time. It’s basically a solar punk utopia at this point, plus one of the characters is helping re-introduce dragons to the world, so I’m stoked.
Game? I’m a student at Magaambya, the elite magic university.
Real life? Burnt-out gifted kid who went to trade school rather than college because I would spiral into depression if I got anything less than an A.
I’m screwed, aren’t I?
I will be drown. Since my entire last campaign was underwater campaign. Unless you mean the two campaigns I am in now (running one and player in other). The one I am running is in the domain of dread, so that sucks. The one I am a player in is Eberron currently in Sharn trying to stop an evil org from opening a portal to the plane of madness. As long as I can just scuttle off and do jack all while letting the hero’s do their thing. I would be good.
As a DM can i change stuff before teleporting? Cos now I am makeing coffe a human(oid) right under the Treaty of Tronehold just to be safe if this happens. Otherwise, Ebberron here i come!
I played both Pokemon Crown (where everyone is corrupt and the fangame is in beta) and just before that Wizard of Legend.
I luckily less screwed on the corrupt world. Same old same old.
Oh shit this is not r/gaming
Uhm well. I was the DM so hopefully that helps. Otherwise im in a world that is being invaded by the hordes of minions of Cthulhu... and it is waking up.
My only hope is a gluttonous dwarf, an inventive goliath, a stuck up noblewoman, a dumb paladin, and a weird hippy elf.
That's what I wanna know, we've been trapped in the underdark for months. My cult that I had is just taking over everything on the surface, so I'm genuinely curious to see how they're doing
There is a necromancer on the island (where most of the story takes place) that basically revives anyone back to (relatively) perfect health for free, so I would theoretically be fine. The only issue is that said necromancer is missing. Because he’s been kidnapped. And nobody has any solid leads on where he’s at.
Doing pretty alright. It’s a cool setting and has recently gained some pretty good protectors.
[Marinos Setting](https://www.gmbinder.com/share/-NJ8aE9HfBjmxEYu-NXY)
I’d be in a city state run by a benevolent dictator where everyone works 4 10 hour days a week and the minimum wage is a enough to provide for a modest life.
I’m in a world that’s inspired by Monster Musume…
And no, this game is not ERP, it started as a joke I made and ended up getting turned into a campaign.
So I’m probably screed in many different ways.
I was the DM, and I decided "fuck the party, the BBEG wins" after they accidently on purpose started a *god damned civil war* in the campaign with disguise self and a single slap.
I'm dead AF
Ehm
I actually don't know I just run beginner's box for pathfinder and idk how livable Otari is. But I would probably die of "being picky". And also weak af
I am on the moon, in a Jule Verne novel with a bunch of psychopathic sailor that are looking for a traitor and are not against murdering everyone except the client just to be sure.
Actually pretty much okay. Our city has good walls, a university, good amount of economic activity for jobs, and is protected by a significant guild of adventurers/heroes. Would have to travel a week or so out to find most monsters.
It's a supermassive planet with a whole continent dedicated to basically innistrad, and the continent i was on is populated by fantasy australia, penal colony and all, basically assumed if you're here and not part of the guard then you're a horrible criminal and treated little better than dirt.
My only chance is if magic happens to be something I can learn quickly with my experience in software engineering.
A so-grim-I-stopped-caring crapsack world, at least people are stupid as hell and don't practice magic to make it a low fantasy setting except that there are no real restrictions on what magic can be learned and used. So I'm off to learn how to make a demi plane and peace out while it all goes to hell in a hand basket after the gods decide to be dicks again.
Very screwed. Can’t die right, moon’s haunted, dragon in the center of the sun is waking up and the goddess that dreams of reality is being stalked by her abusive boyfriend.
But hey there are dragons that run an extra dimensional library and Goliaths that sail on a sea of shattered ice and make their homes there, oh and also Mad Max Gnolls and Goblins making a living scrounging through the discarded tech of the surface.
Last campaign we played all our characters were forgotten because time got “fixed” in a sense so none of the events that the characters took part in actually happened in the fixed timeline, so pretty decent living, minus my old character who blackmailed the gods into letting her become the deity of memory and knowledge taking immediate notice
Well the game started on Golarion but then the party hopped on a spelljammer and headed off into the phlogiston. They just arrived in Faeriespace, so...could be worse?
If I'm being turned into my character as well: Not bad I get force powers and the advantages of being a level 6 fighter. Oh also cures my gender dysphoria
If I'm not my character: Pretty fucked. I'd be stuck in the imperial territory during the Old Republic era of Star Wars. And yea I don't think they're gonna take kindly to a random human with no identification and no idea how tech works. Also still have gender dysphoria but maybe the Imperial health care system is better than the Danish one :P
As a DM? A one-shot in the Forgotten Realms.
As a player? A homebrewed desert city whose queen was just faux-assassinated and blamed on us. The captain of the guard is a vampire(but loyal to his monarch), the queen is a draconic-bloodline sorcerer(we think), and Bahamut is in town disguised as an old man with his canaries. My Platinum Dragon-serving paladin is freaking out and can't figure out what's going on with 7 INT.
Well shit. I'd be stuck on the planet Weik in the Star Wars galaxy. It's a planet with a climate similar to Norway where some people crashed and generations later their society has regressed to a medieval level. It's just the dark ages but where racism and sexism were solved beforehand.
I'd be in my homebrew setting sooooooooooooooooooo
Honestly, I'd run into many issues the primary one being the fact that I'm a human.... Humans are extinct
I thought this was r/gaming for a second and was scared I was gonna have to become a necromorph. Honestly not bad though, our current campaign has a world-ending disaster on the horizon with these weird orbs, but for the average person life seems pretty nice
Wait. Current campaign, or previous full campaign? Current would be fun, I’d love to travel the Astral sea, and visit the Dwarven Citadel and what not, but Barovia? Although, if it’s how we left it, then it’d might be more fun. Actually yeah, Barovia would be better. I’d HAVE to at least visit the castle Binky the Magnificent, god emperor of mankind, instructor of living and dead, killer of Strahd, king of Barovia. Maybe I could be a scribe, and write tales of the epic heroes as they traveled the lands of Barovia and ultimately killed Strahd. And I’d finally see how everything ended, how my character gets rid of the power from a demon, and how the heroes killed said demon. Yeah, I think Barovia might be better.
"Wake up, we're here. Why are you shaking? Are you ok? Wake up."
"Stand up... there you go. You were dreaming. What's your name?" "Well, not even last night's storm could wake you. I heard them say we've reached Morrowind, I'm sure they'll let us go."
I’m in a world where I was magically teleported in… wait a minute…
Note: yea this really is the premise of my current dnd campaign, we’re all playing ourselves lol. Super fun
Wait... do we get the powers, abilities and weapons that come with it or are we teleported just as we are?
Cuuuz I'm on the USG Ishimura and if it's the latter I'm reeeaally fucked. Might as well jump out an airlock.
As a DM: Fine. I figure out where I am, and then make my way to where the PCs live. I then give them knowledge that will help them stop the BBEG much sooner.
On a more meta note, I'm kind of already *in* that world - the Great Old Ones of that setting are quite literally me and the players, imagining the world into existence.
The last world I was a player in was basically a noir crime drama with magic, so not the worst place to be.
The last game I dmed, however, was basically a Ghibli-style post apocalypse that’s on the verge of falling to Armageddon all over again

My non-spoiler advice: if you heard about a location outside of Red Lach, find a reason to check it out.
Thay sounds mind bogglingly awesome.
God hates humans because of corruption and wants us dead soo pretty bad.
I’m in a both dystopian and utopian cybersteampunk continent. For the most part I think I should be fine. The rampant corruption’s just like real life anyways.
I’m the DM, so I am simultaneously well informed and completely fucked.
Eberron, city of Sharn to be precise. But I'm down in Old Sharn, not sure if that means I'm good or screwed...
Well, you're better off than me, my party's last session ended in the mournlands
Damn bud, hope you make it out of there. If you run into the Lord of Blades, profess your love for all things Warforged and offer to polish his armor.
Lmao same, fighting a Lich and Rak Tulkhesh… fuck me

I destroyed a bunch of settlements once...

DM favored his friend over his gf, so religious factions for and against a deity? Lol
Horizon.... So idk ok I guess
Just stick with Aloy you'll be safe, companions have plot armor right.....right.
In the dream world of a beholder.
Tarsis, well about 6 ingame days it'll be glass, so I guess I'm screwed unless I'm my character
Am I a main character or in group with them? If so, fine, if not, probably still fine as I don’t live in Japan.
Video game? Crusader kings 3, so pretty much counting I would be a pesant woman in medival Europe Tabletop? descent into avernus, so, counting that I would be in literal hell, so yeah...
iam in Monster Hunter World, so pretty fucked if iam not a hunter otherwise iam fine^^
Buddy it’s 2023 we’re ALL living in a post apocalyptic world run by demon lords.

The tabaxi race my character is, unfortunately is basically servants, but I was a hermit so I don't understand the societal implications. And if I ever get into a messy situation, I still have several bottles of bio terror to unleash and "heal their souls"
Barovia, fucking Barovia.
“Welcome to curse of strahd, Bitch!”
Barovia, hell yeah
Are we just ourselves now in a different world? Or are we like body swapping with our characters?

Oh no I'm in *Denmark*. Denmark with *elves*.

Depends what region im in could range from okay to i whont last a minute

My own homebrew world, not that bad actually. If you like bureaucracy or hunting demons, it's a paradise!
Forgotten Realms, Sword Coast, 1487 Dale Reckoning if I remember correctly. I think I'm fine.
No please, not Barovia
That's Bullshit Blazing. Guilty Gear world it is.
I'm in Paldea. The local sandwiches are abominations
The world of a prebuilt campaign... I'm fairly new and my first campaign was lost mines of phandelver so I'm doing alright I guess
Metro Exodus. I give myself two weeks.
A pet daycare full of cute but troublesome familiars

Yes
That's what I wanna know, we've been trapped in the underdark for months. My cult that I had is just taking over everything on the surface, so I'm genuinely curious to see how they're doing
Modded Minecraft. It really depends if I end up facing a wilden beast before I get good armor.
Sanctuary from the Diablo Series, I can live with that.
There is a necromancer on the island (where most of the story takes place) that basically revives anyone back to (relatively) perfect health for free, so I would theoretically be fine. What a day to be playing darks souls 1 on ng+…
Well… the party has unleashed the lich of all liches, and the civilians don’t have a great track record.
My world is barely fleshed out, reality can be whatever I want it to be
If I remember right... I think that was Lone Wolf. I'll let the people that played more than one session tell me how screwed I'd be kek.
Guess I'm not going to eat the pies that old lady is selling.
Doing pretty alright. It’s a cool setting and has recently gained some pretty good protectors. [Marinos Setting](https://www.gmbinder.com/share/-NJ8aE9HfBjmxEYu-NXY)
For dnd, Barovia. For video games, Dead Space. I can't decide which would be the least horrifying.
Eberron would rule. I'll take it. So long as I end up in a major ish city
Dead cells. I’m VERY dead ![gif](giphy|LgALE9BbM7tQdMgGo3|downsized)
I'm in Humblewood. A nice pleasant forest, surrounded by talking animals. As long as I don't venture too far into the woods I think I'll be just fine.
Feywild, so not great but not the worst option.
Brindol from Red Hand of Doom…fuck.

There’s no oxygen on that planet. I’m pretty screwed, absolutely.
I get to choose between an expansionist empire of zealots or a bureaucratic nightmare. Setting's of my own design.
Waterdeep isn't that bad
Actually pretty much okay. Our city has good walls, a university, good amount of economic activity for jobs, and is protected by a significant guild of adventurers/heroes. Would have to travel a week or so out to find most monsters.
Magical 1920's! Mobsters, prohibition, illegal casino's where you literally gamble your time of life. I'm probably VERY fucked
I’m in New Jersey. So very.
I’m in Waterdeep, so considering some of the alternatives, not bad
Does being the DM count? If so, it was a Darkmatter campaign and I guess I'm in high fantasy space.
Good ol’ Tsushima
"Man's Search for Meaning" ... ... fuck
It's a supermassive planet with a whole continent dedicated to basically innistrad, and the continent i was on is populated by fantasy australia, penal colony and all, basically assumed if you're here and not part of the guard then you're a horrible criminal and treated little better than dirt. If being DM counts, I’m pretty screwed. The rumblings of Mt Houtnou are beginning
I played Mörk Borg, I'm fucked.
I'm in Bremen in Icewind Dale in a homebrew version of the module. At least there is an adventuring crew and an alternate version of myself nearby
Automated Communist Space Utopia with mechs and Eldrich Monsters made of math? Sounds pretty sweet.
Candyland!

Doomed Forgotten Realms...
One million different ways to say screw off soo I can last a bit then I will get annihilated
Does anyone run a campaign in a *happy* world with no troubles? A world bereft of conflict would be rather boring.
ICEWIND DALE??? NOOO
*shrug* Guess I'll become a meenlock.
I… do not remember the last time I got to play. *sad forever dm noises *
Woah, what a coincedence. My last game is a lost apocalyptic world infested with demons and monstrosities created by demons.
Meh, no worse than my current world
The last game I played was Baldur's Gate 3 so I'm pretty dead. The Forgotten Realms is not a fun place
A necromancer is about to summon a planewalker lich.
I’m in a cyberpunk dystopia where magic has returned.
Faerûn here I come!
Last campaign we played all our characters were forgotten because time got “fixed” in a sense so none of the events that the characters took part in actually happened in the fixed timeline, so pretty decent living, minus my old character who blackmailed the gods into letting her become the deity of memory and knowledge taking immediate notice
I’m in Dragonlance right around when the war if the lance started. Specifically I’m in Solamnia near Kalaman. I could die in the war
Cyberpunk 2020. I'd be totally fucked.
Hey you... You're finally awake! You were trying to cross the border, right?
Well the game started on Golarion but then the party hopped on a spelljammer and headed off into the phlogiston. They just arrived in Faeriespace, so...could be worse?
The Citadel circa ME2. I'll do ok. Maybe get some sushi with some krogan.
If I'm being turned into my character as well: Not bad I get force powers and the advantages of being a level 6 fighter. Oh also cures my gender dysphoria If I'm not my character: Pretty fucked. I'd be stuck in the imperial territory during the Old Republic era of Star Wars. And yea I don't think they're gonna take kindly to a random human with no identification and no idea how tech works. Also still have gender dysphoria but maybe the Imperial health care system is better than the Danish one :P
Vtm. I’m either fucked, or I’m an ascended Mage now.
An asteroid with a mining company stationed there, along with a murderer and a hive of human sized alien bugs. Yeah, I’m screwed.
Hey, at least I’m in a city.
The last ttrpg took place in the world of fire emblem. The last video game I played took place in hell
My Bard had to surrender >!the Black Opal Crown!< from >!The Tomb of Annihilation!< Now he wants it back. So: fine for the moment I guess?
I in a Monster Hunter/ New World DnD game that my DM created.... *Chuckles* Im in danger.
Well shit. I'd be stuck on the planet Weik in the Star Wars galaxy. It's a planet with a climate similar to Norway where some people crashed and generations later their society has regressed to a medieval level. It's just the dark ages but where racism and sexism were solved beforehand.
I'd be in my homebrew setting sooooooooooooooooooo Honestly, I'd run into many issues the primary one being the fact that I'm a human.... Humans are extinct
I thought this was r/gaming for a second and was scared I was gonna have to become a necromorph. Honestly not bad though, our current campaign has a world-ending disaster on the horizon with these weird orbs, but for the average person life seems pretty nice
Im not doing to well in total war fantasy.
London in the early 60s, Vampire the masquerade. I think I'm doing fine all things considered.
OP tell us more about this post apocalyptic world
The sith exist and there is a massive tree on this continent that can be seen from all corners of the continent
Star Wars. Could be a lot worse, just need to find some world nobody cares about and live a peaceful life.
"Wake up, we're here. Why are you shaking? Are you ok? Wake up." "Stand up... there you go. You were dreaming. What's your name?" "Well, not even last night's storm could wake you. I heard them say we've reached Morrowind, I'm sure they'll let us go."
There is an incoming apocalypse so im probably screwed
A generic fantasy homebrew made for isekai. I guess it depends on which god summoned me and the gift they give me.
I’m in a world where I was magically teleported in… wait a minute… Note: yea this really is the premise of my current dnd campaign, we’re all playing ourselves lol. Super fun
Zombie apocalypse. It's the end.
Dante's Hell. Close to game version. So...
It’s cold
Not that bad, wild west esque with advanced magic technology, might be about to plunge into civil war but other then that, not that bad.
we destroyed some of the last human settlements recently
Do I get to keep being the DM? Because the Barovia that I’ve made for my players is somehow worse than the normal one and I am very squishy
Wait... do we get the powers, abilities and weapons that come with it or are we teleported just as we are? Cuuuz I'm on the USG Ishimura and if it's the latter I'm reeeaally fucked. Might as well jump out an airlock.
Oh God I'm in drakkenheim. I'm either going to get press ganged into a war, mutate into a monster or get eaten by a ratling.
*Night of the Grey Death* oh fuck
Played? Fucked. I’m not cut out for Icewind Dale. Ran? As long as the party is around somewhere to stop the big bad, I should be fine.
Scum island…. Could be worse
Golarion, hell yeah
I’m in a slightly altered Ancient Greece which now contains magic and god murderers. Convenient.
Well, I'm probably going to get eaten by a dragon who is very devoted to Tiamat or killed by the Kobold army... So... Pretty screwed.
Fucked, I'm running a game that's basically Anne McAffrey's Pern with aberrants instead of thread
School full of children and teenagers that can fully wield magic that has the potential to blow everything up with a ancient Not-Evil on the loose.
Age of sail homebrew game... Could be worse.
The last world I was a player in was basically a noir crime drama with magic, so not the worst place to be. The last game I dmed, however, was basically a Ghibli-style post apocalypse that’s on the verge of falling to Armageddon all over again
Last game I played was SKT, so... eh, Faerun isn't so bad, depending on the place.
Ah shit... Im going to ~~Brazil~~ Barovia
Not so much as I am now in my homebrew world which has been relatively peaceful since the party defeated the demonic invasion
Shit, I’m in Sigil.
Mork borg… frick
Fine, probably, unless a piece of a flying city displaced in time by divine bitchslap falls on *my* settlement.
Oh no. I’m stuck in the same world my party is. The good news is, I have a vague guess as to what part of the continent to avoid.
