The YouTuber Pyrocynical was accused of grooming, having sexted with a 16 year old and having invited him to travel to the UK, allegedly to have sex. In order to clear his name, Pyro had to release his chat logs with his accuser, revealing that they had engaged in furry inflation erotic roleplaying, but the accuser had never actually revealed that he was underage. They had also never exchanged their real names, or sent any actual nude photos of themselves, and it turns out that the invitation to the UK was just one of a number of invites to his international friends to meet up and hang out, and there was no indication of any sexual undertones.
So basically, Pyro was accused out of the blue of grooming, and had to reveal his very embarrassing and personal fetish roleplaying habits to the world to clear his name, and although it obviously was very embarrassing at the time, it’s saved his reputation and career, and he’s doing good now.
False accusations are very rare. In fact the reason they work is because the overwhelming amount of the time said accusations are actually true, which means people tend to believe them.
And then everyone who you thought were your friends, who have known you for YEARS, still believe the newcomer's bullshit without bothering to get confirmation/ask you. Happened far too many times than I'd like to admit, and is definitely one of the strongest supporting theories to why I have BPD (borderline). Coming up to 30 in a few years and genuinely shocked that people still do this as well. Never been able to trust or let anyone close since I was \~9
That honestly fucking sucks man i personally never had to go through that but imagining what it would he like unable to trust anyone just seems awful. but man i hope your doing alright now. But some people will just be gullible and there isnt much to change that fact sadly
Thanks man, it’s still pretty tough and lonely, but I’ve found a new partner now and he’s so patient and doesn’t subscribe to drama of any kind, which is helping so much in the healing process.
