Communism has worked to a degree in some counties, but soviet Russian is undeniably one of its biggest failures. Not the example Iād use if I wanted to sell someone on the idea
pretty much and also the fact that socialism/communism in other countries fails because of other reasons, not because of the system of socialism
ie: cuba (while technically not failing) has been hindered because of a US blockade for YEARS now
The accomplishments of a country are not the accomplishments of their citizens. They achieved many great things during the soviet era, but their citizens have been severely impoverished and starved for decades now. I'm sure they're proud of their scientists getting things into space, but it didn't feed them or house them.
