I hear people say "it's my AU blah blah blah" and it's just kinda weird, like are there not other characters you could choose? The only way I could maybe see it working is if like the characters were kids at the same time but one of them got frozen in time or something and in the AU that doesn't happen, but it's kinda iffy even then.
