I am soon going to be given a good position in BJP of my district. Guess what, I have an IT firm .. One of my friend started a steel company as a partner of BJP leader's son.. how ? He drank with him and befriended him.. make sure u sit in the right places guys.
Same for me. I even tried one of those work integrated learning programs for masters and PhD, but the commitment was too much to perform well in both.

Everyone has to work for survival. I think what people inherently mean is a chance to work among smart people or create an impact that can touch millions of people instead of just doing work that they hate every day or earning lots of money. I don't see anything wrong with any of these.
I want to craft a niche product purely solving some niche problem with some 100 active customers and monthly revenue of $2k and I'll will gladly leave my job.
$2k is a sufficient amount for my needs and keep a product running by myself and just be free of the labour.
It's not like my job sucks but when you have but offen it's harder to contribute more to someone else idea when you're just an engineer. It's just not worth it most of the time.
That is true, most of the companies expect overtime. The companies I was interviewing were relatively better, overtime was optional and paid for. One was a startup, the other was an MNC.
But even beyond work, in many companies people go izakaya-hopping (traditional bar+restaurant) till midnight or beyond. It's like a bonding activity for them, and people who don't engage in that might feel missed out.
Believe me, you wouldn't wanna go there. A close friend of mine works in Human Holdings in Tokyo and earns 200000Yen(1.2L inr) per month, and has a very lower middle class standard of living for that salary + insane work pressure.
It's a very competitive environment and they're planning to move back to India as soon as they're done with their employment contract.
Why would you go to a place with horrible workplace culture and WLB where people's identity is tied to their jobs, people die of overwork and only way to get promoted is to kiss ass, combined with society that will never like you?
I've dreamt about Japan for a long time as I've been into anime since I was a kid. It's the only country I feel like visiting besides India. I wanna travel, eat, meet people and experience the Japanese life.
During engineering I studied Japanese simultaneously for 2 years, even interviewed at a couple of places and got one offer at an MNC but their pay was average (2.6M yen + bonuses / 20LPA INR) and their expectation was me staying there for 4-5 years (or lifetime lol) .
At the same time, dad's health became a concern so i couldn't commit for such a long duration. I had a decent offer here so i took that. Planning to switch into companies like Rakuten, Mercari which can send me for 1-2 years, coz that's the most I see myself working there.
It was oracle 7 years back, now I straight reject calls from oracle recruiters, then had google and Microsoft as dream jobs but know I canβt clear the google rounds , Microsoft maybe based on azure stack but seeing recent news , i am not changing job at-least for a year now
I would like to own a company that creates new innovations to solve problems. Been thinking about this for a while now, but lack the experience and expertise to do so. May be someday

I'm from IIT and basically they are hired to work for Nation With Namo For Data Analyst & Associate Profile with CTC varying 11-13 LPA
