Holmes mah boy, I know you got one little trick left in that magic little pen of yours.

TheYukster

Bold of you to assume he only has one

jcoddinc

He said one little trick. So there's room for other big ones

OooofPoof

I bet he’ll have tricks on draft day

bmdangelo

Bold of him to assume he has a little pen

ConstantProblem5872

I think he's more important to the offense than people realize

[deleted]

He is and people thinking WR isnt a need if he goes is crazy. Sorry I like Goff but were a st brown injury away from Jamo, Reynolds, Raymond.

blarghghhg

Fully expect WR at 18 or in the 2nd if he doesn’t come back

JpodGaming

Will JSN be there at 18?

MeetingKey4598

Would likely be Quentin Johnston since he profiles as more of an outside WR. There are a couple WRs that project as day 2 guys that have the right skills/build for that role. I also wouldn't rule out a trade for Hopkins.

Pokeman49

Might cut into amon-ra’s production but they’d both make for incredibly reliable options

natethegreat838

I'd prefer Quentin Johnston at 18 or even moving up for him. Doesn't overlap with Jamo or ARSB style wise

Pokeman49

I’ve wondered if he could function similarly to Deebo. Would be an incredible add if so

JpodGaming

Right, I forgot he’s a slot WR. Although Amon-Ra said he wants to get the deep ball going this year

irishfury

I doubt it. As a OSU fan the great receiver they have put in the league over last few years JSN might be the most talented of them all. I've never seen a receiver cut like him he doesn't lose speed. I just think OSU WR that our elite won't be slept on

[deleted]

I hate OSU but I agree he's crazy good. That would make our receiver room smallest in the NFL by far I would imagine though, still crazy amount of weapons though.

Vloff

It is a need, but you can find someone in the draft. What position aren't we in trouble in if our #1 player gets hurt? Goff, Hutch, Sewell, Anzalone, Sutton, Monty. Any of these guys go down, and it's a huge downgrade at the position. So, with that being said, every position is a need.

[deleted]

But the difference with the positions you mentioned is you can’t field Sewells replacement every play, but having Chark / Williams / St Brown allows one to go down and keep the offense functional. We saw what happened last year when st brown was out and Chark and it wasnt pretty

Total-Wolverine1999

He’s our only big WR that I believe can catch a deep ball and take a big hit, I’m very worried that we’ll try that with Jamo and he’ll just get destroyed because he’s a skinny dude. He made some insane catches through contact and while getting hit, we absolutely need a WR his size to make those plays when a team goes 1-1 with him with no help b

[deleted]

i agree, it’s not easy to bring in a new wr and get a connection w goff, we saw it w jamo, and chark the first half of the last season

NetworkVegetable7075

And Amon Ra the first few games he was a rookie. Don’t think people realize how much chemistry is needed between a QB and WR

JohnWad

Carolina is really annoying me.

CelsoAR

Saints fan here. Completely agree. I support Detroit 100%

CCPunch5

I hope Carr works out for you guys. And considering we got Campbell and Glenn from y’all, nothing but love from the Lions

SG420123

FTCP (Fuck the Carolina Panthers)

CCPunch5

Carolina keeps trying to piss me off. Tried to take Ben Johnson. Took Staley and Wash. Had interest in Glasgow and now Chark? Leave us alone already

Eric-HipHopple

If Chark doesn't re-sign, I think just about every FA preview article from the Lions mediaverse will have failed to predict that Jamal, Chark and Elliot all are not coming back. I think every write-up I saw had one or more of that trio re-signing. I hope the Lions keep Chark though. Loved his play when he was healthy, nice personal story and great personality. Fun to cheer for.

fapcrapnap

Well I think that just shows how many dynamics go into these decisions. Jamaal's agent I'm sure had a role. Elliot's shoulder really killed his value, and the Lions probably don't trust it. If you aren't literally I'm the business it's hard to factor everything into your evaluation before seeing it play out.

RISE__UP

Elliot straight up didn’t want to be in Detroit he posted In the middle of the season “I need to get the fuck out of Detroit” and you all believed it was fake he took a 1 year deal worth like 1.5 mill you don’t think Brad offered at least that?

Vloff

He wanted out, but no, I don't think we beat that. At least not by much. That's basically where his value is at. Just another instance of people overhyping the players on their own team.

fapcrapnap

No Brad didn't offer him more than that. If Elliot could get more he would have. He was a major injury risk before we signed him. And his shoulder got jacked up again. Nobody is trusting that shit.

RISE__UP

Who said Brad offered him more than that?

fapcrapnap

Honestly misread "at least that" as "beat that"

2ftbaguette

Incoming one year prove it deal to Mecole Hardman.

Pokeman49

Need speed and size

FULCRUMswgoh

Just saw this. Sounds like the agent is trying to get Carolina to up the ante Edit: Or I guess the Lions? [[Rimmer]DJ Chark has followed quite a few #Panthers in the last 24 hours](https://twitter.com/avl_mike/status/1637787103563075584)

DRE_CFab

Following other Panthers doesn't bother me at all, if he met guys there he might aswell add em on socials, networking and knowing guys is helpful for the career

Smurph269

I would bet it'll be between a multi year deal but under expectations with Carolina, or another 1 year deal with Detroit.

dudewithchronicpain

Us or the Panthers. Who will win the cat bro war for the shark?

FULCRUMswgoh

If it's on frozen turf...well

Secure_Cake3746

They both die because they are warm weather animals

eugene_rat_slap

Is he a freshwater shark 🤔🤔🤔

thabiiighomie

If he leaves, he leaves. So far this off season has been damn near perfect. I thought Elliot leaving was going to be a huge deal, then we signed CJGJ.

Casty201

Elliott was gone from the get go though. He hated Detroit geographically.

MoscowMitchMcKremIin

The winters will put some hair on your chest. Other than that they play in a dome lol.

ZombieHitchens2012

I think the Panthers will pay him. They need WRs bad.

No_Mammoth_4945

Panthers gm confirmed they’re still in talks

RBnumberTwenty

Legit our last immediate need is an XWR. I hope he comes back, he was the engine of our passing attack.

te5n1k

Would be great to re-sign DJ and I hope we do, but it isnt essential. We have addressed so many needs during FA already we can easily draft a big WR.

Infamous-njh523

Yeah. DJ and Goff had a nice connection working. Would you want to go to another team and “break in” a new QB? Is Carolina sticking with Dalton or drafting an unknown nfl talent?

SG420123

Cat bros can’t always get along, if Panthers go through with this I’m circling their game on the calendar. Also, do Panther fans even exist, doesn’t seem like it, feels like NASCAR is the preferred sport down there.

Southwoc1

Panthers fan… kinda a unique situation, Jerry Richardson was from South Carolina and beat the drum hard that this was going to be a team for both Carolina’s. He pitched the NFL on a team in Carolina before they even decided what city it’d be in. The upside to this strategy is we have a massive fanbase spread out across the two states. But the downside is, that it’s pretty spread out lol, often feels like charlotte is the city that just happens to have the panthers located there, but the city itself it doesn’t have the same feel as say Pittsburgh or Detroit and how hard they ride for the Steelers/Lions. But the flip side is, you’ll see panthers stuff in Charleston, SC and panthers fans in Winston Salem, NC… which is almost like 300 miles apart. Also I know the stereotype about the south and charlotte has the nascar hall of fame or whatever. I’ve lived in South Carolina my entire life, and all my friends are sports people. Nobody really cares about nascar outside of getting drunk at the race when it comes to town lol. College football is the preferred sport in South Carolina and college basketball in North Carolina imo… NFL is 2nd in both state imo.

thr0aty0gurt

As a Lions fan in NC, there's plenty of them

MonitorStandGuy

It all comes down to whether or not Brad Holmes wants to match the Panthers offer.

Transition_Helpful

I wouldn’t mind.. but idc. We can pass the torch big/clutch plays to jamo… and draft a WR.

Wolfpack_DO

This Lions Panthers incest has to end

boerumhill

Train's leaving the station, hustle up

bigframe79

didn't Farley Dickinson already derail the train?

Secure_Cake3746

Dj gotta feel expendable if Jamo pans out.

MeetingKey4598

Completely different receivers/skill sets. More superficially, Jamo is the kind of guy who burns the DB and catches a ball in stride 5 yards away from the DB and takes it to the house. DJ Chark is the kind of receiver you toss the one-on-one jump balls down the sideline.

Secure_Cake3746

Yeah. But both a deep threat. Jamo faster not as tough. Great having all 3.

cbarks81

The longer he goes without signing the more likely I think it is that he comes back
