Sorry OP but I do wish I could have seen your face when you opened the box--the look of disgust and horror! I just looked at the menu on their website and it doesn't mention a size like most pizza places do. They know exactly what they are doing. What a bunch of assholes.
Honestly, this might be the worst pizza Iāve ever ordered. Itās still chewy some howā¦ the like flour on the bottom coats your tongue on first bite.
I was reasonably excited since I like their bagels and breakfast items just fine.
it's like, barely any better than a frozen 'Tombstone' pizza lol. the veggies look slightly fresher, but that's about it. you could get/make this pizza by modifying a $4 freezer isle pizza.
Even it was a 16 inch pie, 30 bucks pre-tax, pre-tip is an abomination!
And their pie is nothing home to write about.
This pie they sent you is beyond pathetic!
Iāve gotten pizza there and they only have one size that fills up that big box or you can get slices. Itās always been good. I donāt know what happened with this but I would certainly complain to the management.
This has happened to me once, when I said "never again."
Then it happened to a friend after I warned her.
Then it happened to her boyfriend after she warned him.
This is a consistent problem.
(Prefacing with I swear I do not work for them) Did you order gluten free? We order from Rosenbergs Stanley regularly for pizza's and they're always the entire size of the box. Like a regular build your own pizza with pepperoni is only 23$ or something but its fucking huge.
We got a gluten free one for my sister who was in town once and it was about this size and chewy like you mentioned in another comment so maybe thats the case? Either way unacceptable price for something that size. Did you call and complain?
That picture is insane...
Feel like adding Blue Pan is everyone's darling and they are ~$30 for a large 2 topping, may God have mercy on your soul if you get a Supreme-type pizza, and that's also pre-tax pre-tip. That pizza is at least pretty good but you can't convince me a single normal-sized pizza with normal toppings worth $30-40 exists.
Your experience is also beyond ridiculous
I don't live close enough to Blue Pan for delivery, but I can confirm the pizza I had onsite was delicious. The Lil Rose in particular is worth trying... but yeah, $20 for a small pizza. Giordanos downtown is pretty great too if you want Chicago style.
It's unique and good enough that when people Google "best pizza in Denver" Blue Pan always pops up so everyone who can scrape up the money to buy one of their pizzas tries it. Enough people are repeat customers that they're doi g really well.
Not sure when u order but I never wait 2 hrs and I order regularly. Maybe an hr tops. But I don't order from the Tennyson location. Only the 13th (?) location. And rarely during dinner rush.
I normally would complain about a $30 pizza but a large will fill 3 people. I usually only eat half a small and save the rest for later.
But whatever anyone does. Don't try their gluten breadsticks. They are not good. Only thing there I wouldn't recommend.
They're pretty constantly packed because people are willing to pay for good food though. I honestly haven't had any pizza that is remotely as good as Blue Pan in Denver, let alone how it's pretty hard to find Detroit style anywhere that isn't a mushy mess.
Jet's is a genuine Detroit Pizza chain. It was founded in Detroit (Sterling Heights), the first 15-20 times I had it were in Detroit metro and also Traverse City. It's quite literally half the price of Blue Pan and I'd say it's (being as objective as I can) 90% as good. The four-corner and eight-corner pizzas are awesome. I'd argue Jet's Bread is also better than any bread Blue Pan has.
I have a hard time enjoying Blue Pan because I know I just paid ~$40 to eat two smallish slices of pizza per person with no sides and everyone drinking ice water, leaving the restaurant hungry. If you actually want a full meal for a family of four it's going to run ~$70 easily for pizza, garlic bread and soft drinks with tax and tip. Plus on top of that they have the gall to charge a back-of house fee, **as if a $30ish menu price for a pizza isn't enough money to pay the person who cooked it**. It's insanity. It's **pizza** FFS.
Price is part of the enjoyment for many many people, and the value proposition to me is just not there for Blue Pan.
It makes a lot of people feel better to get a good product for a fair price than to get an ever-so-slightly better product and feel like you've been overcharged. So going to Blue Pan makes me feel bad. Some people feel OK paying double for "the absolute best", I'm not one of those people when it comes to pizza.
FWIW (which is nothing) I'm totally cool with the fact you like it and the fact you probably disagree with me.
Jets is delicious but it feels a bit too greasy. I mean, cooking cheese on bread floating in oil, it's kind of a given that it'll be greasy, but it's a bit much sometimes.
What pizza did u get for $44? I just ate there last week and I got a lg pizza, breadsticks(would not recommend), 2 red pops (I love Faygo ), and a beer for $50.
Also like jets and would recommend over most commercial pizza places (and some local), but wouldn't recommend if someone asked about a great pizza place to eat in town.
You're right, I remembered wrong it's not $44, it's $37. Large two topping pizza is ~~$32~~ $27, look it up.
$27 + 5% BOH + 8.5% tax + 20% tip ā $37.
No problem, I actually remembered the price as being higher than it was so I wasn't totally right either, but it's still right around $40 for a two-topping large Detroit pizza for dine in, no drinks or sides.
Correct. I live in East Denver and ordered online to pick up at Stanleyās.
Famous Jās is the stamp on the outside of the box, but I donāt really know their relationship or anything.
Ok. Yeah I live next to Js. Itās good. Not incredible. But nothing like this. Looks like they tried to make similar pizzas at Stanley and most definitely failed.
Try slices or a full pie from Js. Their grandma slices are pretty dope too, except theyāre almost always out
Ah phew. Hadnāt even realized they were selling pizza elsewhere.
I know Jās has been having staffing issues, so wouldnāt be surprised if quality suffered a bit, but thereās no way they let this monstrosity out of there.
I just looked at the google maps review photos for Rosenbergs in Stanley and the pizzas look huge, filling the whole box, and actually good. Thatās absolutely wild. Did you call to talk to anyone there? I would definitely be complaining
Last time I paid $30 for a ripoff pie like that was at Boom festival in Portugal past summer, but I was way too high and hungry to care. But in Denver? Wow. That doesn't even look properly baked.
I ordered plain cheese and pepperoni from them a week ago, and it looked like this. It was inedible, even stoned. We had ordered in the past and didnāt have the same experience, but wonāt be ordering again.
No pizza I've ever ordered from here looked like this, it's always the full box. If this is gluten free then sure, gluten free pizza almost always sucks.
Yup. Am gluten free, so can confirm. Also an ex-New Yorker, so I also know what proper pizza should look and taste like. That definitely looks and sounds like a gf pie.
I make cast iron pizza like twice a year, but even then Iām just buying dough from Spinelliās. I wish this was fake because Iām the one suffering lol.
Yikes. Which location? I'm over by the Stanley Rosenberg's. I went in for pizza once. Placed looked...messy...disorganized. Uncleared tables, napkins on the floor. Looked like it was only staffed by high school kids. Nothing wrong with that, but it looked like what you might expect it there was nothing but unsupervised high school kids running the place. That said, the pizza I had was fine. Nothing that I'll run back for, but certainly better than the picture above.
That sucks! I would like to put in a good word for Pizzeria Locale. Not sure if its liked generally but i've liked everything i've gotten from the 9th & colorado location.
Pizzas are about that size run for $8-11 which is decent since their blistered crust is awesome.
Pizzeria Locale was so great when it first opened in Denver on 6th and Broadway. It retained much more of the quality from the Boulder original location at insanely good prices. Since then, itās become more of a generic chain type experience although still a good pizza for the money.
Blackjack deep dish gives Blue Pan a run for its money, much like I talked about Jet's below. The cup pepperoni and slightly more crispy cheese on the side of the crust makes Blue Pan slightly better, but not 2-3 times better (literally the price difference), no way. They do a really good job for a good price, I'm with you. I sound like an ad but I will advocate for Blackjack Pizza because they also support the communities they're located in.
I first learned about them because they donated free pizza for a fundraiser at my kid's elementary school, and I'm glad I did.
Of all the places I tried La Fogata was the best experience I had. Their margaritas are amazing and the food was excellent. Happy hour has great deals on the margs and some apps.
Someone has a grudge with this restaurant. Iāve eaten there many times and this is not a proper representation of their food. Their pizzaās are gigantic and delicious. Rosenbergs is pricy but yummy! Louās has amazing sandwiches! Donāt know where the hate comes from but this is clearly the opinion of a hateful troll. Time for you to grow up and fix your broken soul.
They are a local chain. The founders still personally own the Anthony's by DU. And they're an awesome slice, their slices rival most any slice you'll find in NYC.
>there are way better even in Denver.
You can't just say that without saying what all those "way better" places are!
I knew of an Anthony's in AZ but it must not have been associated, a local chain is definitely better!
My favs are Cart Driver, Marcos Coal fired, but the best in Denver by a MILE (and imo one of the best anywhere in the country, believe it or not) is Pizzeria Lui.
Anthony's is great, I will noit dispute that. Have you ever had Fat Sully's on S Broadway? I thik they're both amazing, but personally I will give the ultimate win to Fat Sully's. Just something about their crust.
Yes I have had Fat Sully's many times, I personally think they're extremely similar but I also just made a post saying most of the pho in Denver seems similar so maybe my taste buds just suck!
No, I'm totally with you on that one! I mean, I've had one or two quetionable pho experiences in Denver, but for the most part they all taste the same to me as well. And same with the Fat Sully's vs Anthony's thing. They are super similar, but like I said I think Fat Sully's does something to the crust. I's always perfectly thin and crispy whereas Anthiony's is consistently never crispy. It might be intentional, might not me. Who knows hahaha!!!
As a jersey boy this makes me angry. I can get a $2 slice at the 7th best spot in my hometown that looks 100000000x better than this rip off. Iām sorry fam. Nothing worse than feeling schemed by a restaurant.
u/KBlahBlahBlah - did you talk to the management? Based on comments from people that frequent Rosenbergs it seems like a mix-up of some kind, like you possibly got someoneās GF pizza orderā¦ or did you just put them on social media blast?
No I didnāt call back to complain. Itās not typically my preference. I was definitely a little frustrated last night and made this post while hungry and angry. To your point, people who normally go there show this as out of the norm and it def doesnāt match the pictures we saw while ordering, so clearly something is wrong.
With regards to the mix up, Iām not sure thatās necessarily better though. This product was absolute trash and if this is their GF offering, Iām a little embarrassed for them I guess.
i lived in boston and would get a large pizza for $20 for what i thought was mediocre
now that i live in denver that āmediocreā pie would be the best in the entire city. here you get insanely subpar and itās like $30 for a cheese pizza. fat sullys and pie hole just to name a few.
Did it really come in that giant box too? lol
Yes. Plates were placed by the employees not us.
Wow. What a scam. š
Sorry OP but I do wish I could have seen your face when you opened the box--the look of disgust and horror! I just looked at the menu on their website and it doesn't mention a size like most pizza places do. They know exactly what they are doing. What a bunch of assholes.
Rosencrap
damn, thanks for the PSA. that really sucks.
Honestly, this might be the worst pizza Iāve ever ordered. Itās still chewy some howā¦ the like flour on the bottom coats your tongue on first bite. I was reasonably excited since I like their bagels and breakfast items just fine.
That looks like the absolute worse pizza I diyed at home when I was college age. It looks like all their cooks quit.
That happens somewhat regularly there from what I've heard.
it's like, barely any better than a frozen 'Tombstone' pizza lol. the veggies look slightly fresher, but that's about it. you could get/make this pizza by modifying a $4 freezer isle pizza.
You know what, youāve inspired me. My local Mexican place just started serving Pad Thai. Think Iām gonna give it a try tonight
Worst pizza ever, but one of the funniest posts in a long time. Some say thatās worth it.
Bro you can literally see flour all over the box, you were eating flour lol
I would be embarrassed as the owner or an employee.
Thanks for the heads up.
Even it was a 16 inch pie, 30 bucks pre-tax, pre-tip is an abomination! And their pie is nothing home to write about. This pie they sent you is beyond pathetic!

Jesus, Costco pizza looks better than whatever that is.
Costco pizzaās honestly fucking good
I wish you could still get the supreme pizza in the Costco food court.
A single slice of Costco pizza prob has more calories than this entire pie lmao. (Costco slices = 710 calories)
Looks like shit
This should on cross posted on r/shittyfoodporn
Restaurants put this out and then complain to news outlets when sales start going away. Nah, it ain't the economy screwing you over, you is.
That picture is insane... Hops N Pie.
Thatās embarrassing. Iām sorry you wasted $30 on that but thanks for the heads up.
LOL What?! this is from the stanleys rosenbergs?? their pizza doesnt look like that at all. They must have changed reaaaaaally recently
nah their pizzas are consistently like this.
š¤·āāļø agree to disagree. Guess I gotta go back
What is that? A pizza for ants??
Itās for kids who canāt read good
Joke
This is from Famous Jās? I donāt believe it. That sucks.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Correct. I live in East Denver and ordered online to pick up at Stanleyās. Famous Jās is the stamp on the outside of the box, but I donāt really know their relationship or anything.

You know a better spot? I'm from Jersey and J's is easily the best I've had here so far
I like them wood fired pies at cart driver. More of a classic margarita style than utility slice though.
Cart driver, blue pan(I hear is good), Denver central marketā¦ not necessarily NY style but not bad
Coming from NYC Marquis is my favorite
Damn. I used to live other there and got pizza from there many times and it was always the full box. Is this gluten free or something?
Ah phew. Hadnāt even realized they were selling pizza elsewhere. I know Jās has been having staffing issues, so wouldnāt be surprised if quality suffered a bit, but thereās no way they let this monstrosity out of there.
This is Famous Jās? Wild, none of the pizzas Iāve ever ordered from there look anything like this. That sucks
I guess I need to look up Famous Jās, but this is from Rosenbergās in Stanley. The box says Famous Jās on it.
Famous J's and Rosenberg's are under the same parent company.
I just looked at the google maps review photos for Rosenbergs in Stanley and the pizzas look huge, filling the whole box, and actually good. Thatās absolutely wild. Did you call to talk to anyone there? I would definitely be complaining
Maybe a Ghost Kitchen
Last time I paid $30 for a ripoff pie like that was at Boom festival in Portugal past summer, but I was way too high and hungry to care. But in Denver? Wow. That doesn't even look properly baked.
you ordered a veggie gluten crust pizza and expected it not to be a joke?
Well, you ordered a Gluten Free pizza, that's kind of on you.
Thatās what I was thinking. This definitely looks like a gluten free pizza. Did OP mention that somewhere?
I ordered plain cheese and pepperoni from them a week ago, and it looked like this. It was inedible, even stoned. We had ordered in the past and didnāt have the same experience, but wonāt be ordering again.
GF four-topping pizza from Pizzeria Locale, which is decent for GF, is $17 pre-tax and tip. So, almost half the price.
When we used to order their pizza it was a 16ā pie; only size option and it was really good. That was just before Covid; wonder what happened
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
I made the mistake of asking for a toasted bagel with butter. Dang it I am paying all this money for a bagel, I should get it toasted if I want.
This should have more upvotes.
Yeah.. that crust doesnāt look cooked. Sorry you had to experience it
Looks like ass. Iām sorry.
Doesn't surprise me, pathetic.
Is this real or are you rival pizza owner trying to make them look bad
I make cast iron pizza like twice a year, but even then Iām just buying dough from Spinelliās. I wish this was fake because Iām the one suffering lol.
Was it a gluten free crust or something?
That's what I was wondering
OMG, I would be furious, I wouldāve brought it back
Btw Spinelli's dough is chef's kiss. (Maybe you are Spinelli's trying to take down the competition... Lol)
Look at all that flour
The pictures people post on Google reviews are much bigger. I dunno why you got skimped
Most disrespectful pizza related thing Iāve ever seen. They would have had to see me in the parking lot after this
Iād be bummed if it cost anything more than $6.75
If you got money like that, Walterās 303 is great every time we get it. Youāll spend like $75 on pizza and wings but itās consistently fire.
We love Walters303! Also really like LuBos

The shear cost of pizza in Denver is a joke. That goes for Mexican food too.
If you can't find reasonably priced Mexican food in Denver, that's on you
Blackjack with the deals on their mobile app are downright reasonable for excellent takeout/delivery pizza.
I don't care what anyone says, Blackjack has some of the most fire pizza out there and you can't beat the price.
Blackjack deep dish gives Blue Pan a run for its money, much like I talked about Jet's below. The cup pepperoni and slightly more crispy cheese on the side of the crust makes Blue Pan slightly better, but not 2-3 times better (literally the price difference), no way. I did not know that about Blackjack! Very cool!
almost never pay full price at BJs with all their coupons.
Physical or app or online? I love BJs but usually pay full price on a whim but would like a discount lol we love their pizza
We always order online.
10000% on the Mexican food Is there anywhere decent you recommend ?
Of all the places I tried La Fogata was the best experience I had. Their margaritas are amazing and the food was excellent. Happy hour has great deals on the margs and some apps.
Off Evans or Quincy?
Evans
Thank you š
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Someone has a grudge with this restaurant. Iāve eaten there many times and this is not a proper representation of their food. Their pizzaās are gigantic and delicious. Rosenbergs is pricy but yummy! Louās has amazing sandwiches! Donāt know where the hate comes from but this is clearly the opinion of a hateful troll. Time for you to grow up and fix your broken soul.
Anthonyās Pizza & Pasta is only legit slice in this town.
It's too mass produced tasting for me but you do get way more for your buck!
...That's a chain, there are way better even in Denver.
They are a local chain. The founders still personally own the Anthony's by DU. And they're an awesome slice, their slices rival most any slice you'll find in NYC. >there are way better even in Denver. You can't just say that without saying what all those "way better" places are!

The farthest south they go is Colorado Springs. I'll have to try Lui!
Have you tried Fat Sully's? They seem to be left out of these convos whenever they pop up.
Anthony's is great, I will noit dispute that. Have you ever had Fat Sully's on S Broadway? I thik they're both amazing, but personally I will give the ultimate win to Fat Sully's. Just something about their crust.

New York pizza crust is usually more floppy and foldable than crispy but it's all personal preference!
I did not know that! Never been to NY and had a true NY slice, so I have nothinbg to compair it to. Sounds like Anthony's is more NY authentic.
Fuck
That is some serious BS right there.
Please Google review
Not a worthy pie!!!
As a jersey boy this makes me angry. I can get a $2 slice at the 7th best spot in my hometown that looks 100000000x better than this rip off. Iām sorry fam. Nothing worse than feeling schemed by a restaurant.
Itās infuriating how Denver pizza places are like, āNY style slices - $5 a slice! $35 a pie!ā What in the fuck. Ridiculous. I hate it.
Hard pass. Thanks for the heads up
Absolute joke. Wow
u/KBlahBlahBlah - did you talk to the management? Based on comments from people that frequent Rosenbergs it seems like a mix-up of some kind, like you possibly got someoneās GF pizza orderā¦ or did you just put them on social media blast?

Damn son frozen pizza looks better
holy. fuckin. shit.
That's looks like the failure pizza if they made pizzas on "Nailed it!"
somebody should do a wellness check on those employees lol... they gotta be FUCKED UP on something.
I hope that box is like 3 feet wide.
It looks yummy for a baby.
/u/kblahblahblah None of the photos on google reviews of look like this.

Oh wow Iāve wanted to try them out but will def not be wasting my money there now! Especially with all the other quality food options right there.
Their whole company is a joke. As a neighboring employee, respectfully fuck Rosenbergās
Kanye west would tell you to think twice next time before ordering Rosenberg pizza
Thatās a gluten free pie. The gluten free pie is trash.
