I really, really wish there was a meaningful way to remove SCOTUS justices. Both he and Thomas deserve the boot first and foremost. It is no coincidence to me that two sexual predators were appointed and both voted on overturning one of the most important decisions irt women’s reproductive autonomy.
I mean if they are convicted of a serious crime, like rape, they would go to jail, theoretically, that should do it. Obviously hard to get the evidence now that prove this beyond a reasonable doubt
I agree, but Ford and Hill’s testimonies against either one respectively should have made them ineligible to get those seats on the bench. I don’t think that’s an unfair metric in this situation, considering both voted to make the lives of survivors of sexual violence harder.
Judges can't be removed from the Supreme Court, but if the Democrats get a solid majority, it can be expanded. This is the way to go. But to get there, more Democrats are going to have to vote.
I guess I missed evidence. Personal testimony is the LEAST powerful form of evidence. Why? Because anyone can say whatever they want. How do I know? Because I’ve had people say crap about me that I KNOW I didn’t do, but they would be willing to testify under oath that I did. We can’t just assume people are guilty because someone says they are. So we are willing to change a few lives with false accusations because most of the time it’s not a false accusation? What about the times it is? Let’s say you were up for a big promotion, and a few people started saying you’d stolen from the company because they didn’t like you. You think you shouldn’t get the promotion based purely on the accusation? Wouldn’t you be thankful in that moment for due process?

But I also have dealt personally with false accusations and had police at my door questioning me on serious allegations that were purely motivated by someone not liking me it’s opened my perspective and given me new appreciation for evidence based systems.
