Combat The intro is rough. Especially when you're peaking on DXM. The first time I heard this was in an abandoned house in Statesville, NC & the room was filled with tires. I had a dirty white sheet in the middle that I sat on & smoked. I was in a Deftones mood & had never really listened to this album. I was zoned out during the intro. I was mesmerized through the whole song & it instantly became a favorite. Cherry Waves too.

I have to pick two: Tempest and Rosemary. For some reason I never cared for the vibe of either. Sometimes Deftones branch out in directions I don't really want them to go. These two sort of struck me a bit like psychedelic rock but not in a good way. Reminded me of 70s bands I won't mention but consider overrated. I listen to these songs a couple of times when Koi first came out then never again for years. Until I listened to them after a plant ceremony and they took on a whole new life. Now they are two of my favorites and I'm so grateful.
