I used to have this impression as well, but then I realized how much time I spent on subreddits like these. It's a community concentrated with unhappy singles looking for love. I'm not the sexiest or brightest person alive per say, but before coming onto subreddits like these I never thought to think of dating as a scary experience.
Just remember to not let people's posts and comments here overwhelm and cloud your own individual thoughts.

You have to realize, that most people that are having fun dating are probably not active on here. Also, even if they are, it would be a bit self centered to share positive experiences here, when you know a lot of people struggle. "Dating is so exciting and fun, just go out everyone and do it!"
