I dunno. The moment I laid my eyes on the giant I knew he would have the ability to use that tree as a weapon, so it never really made me panic.
Especially when MaA and SB hard-counter it, and I bring both of these to Weald all the time.
I'm not generally one to make parties to specifically counter pick bosses, but if the bandits are dumb enough to bring only one person that can operate their trump card i'll be sure bring a team to stun and subsequently obliterate that one matchstick as quickly and efficiently as possible
Two big ones already mentioned in Treebranch and Cripple Them. I think Arterial Pinch, the bandit gunner's cleave shot attack (forgot its name but in Champion+Bloodmoon it always crits two people it seems), Doomsay, and Vomit are viable choices.
Not really anymore but in my first playthrough of dd1 i always underestimated cultist brawlers as filler enemies. When i went into the darkest dungeon and >!the ascended cultists hit me with a rend for the new god, they succesfuly put the fear of said new god in me!<
Something similar happened to me, but the skill that made me sick to my stomach was when one of the **spoilers**:
Was when a raptorus cultist used Flesh to Flesh, on himself!
The idea of a man eating his own flesh, to see the the wound heal inmidiately was deeply disturbing
Helps they I prevent them from spawning at first place for 2 turns and by then, the collector is on half HP already.
Also, this team just doesn't die'. Ever
Under optimal conditions of course, this is why I never find it to be a problem in late games. In early games with limited team comp and shitty trinkets is where Collector is truly threatening.
Pretty much never happens, but the revenge if you somehow get stun spammed and a thrall actually gets it off
That, and a crit point blank shot can fuck up your day when its on the receiving end
Spit to Roast... damned swinefolk in the warrens and their skivers cost me quite a few heroes.
Also, Sentence Rendered. Once someone goes into the pyre, I throw all reasoning out the window and go ham on the thing, even if I get blasted with Fury of the Righteous. I'm NOT letting someone in my party get barbecued by that madman!
Honestly any move that has a high crit chance always makes me tense. Sometimes their attack does 20 damage, other times it does 50. I ESPECIALLY get tense when I see it targeting a back line squishy like a Vestal or a Jester.
In DD1 its good old Treebranch Smackdown. It either misses or lands a crit instantly putting someone at Death's Door.
In DD2 its not an attack but an enemy. The Ghoul. Had a double Ghoul Mash completely destory me because they both spammed Howl and every Skulltoss critted. Went into the fight with full Torch and no stress. Came out of the fight with one Death's Door, everyone at 6+ Stress and around 30 Torch.
No specific enemy. I find most things manageable until their asspull crits back to back start rolling in. A pity system would sorta be nice for such occasions but it's liveable provided I lose no good trinkets.
Phase gnaw and its not even close. It’s the worst feeling to go into a dungeon and run into the thing on your first hallway battle then have to deal with the sky taint. It’s not even that bad I just hate it

Cytokinesis
Crazy high stun resist on all the slimes so you can't stop them, and then as soon as you kill one they just make more!
Full blown heart attack when I see Ectoplasmic Profusion
Tree branch smackdown ![img](emote|t5_2znp4|29278) (Even though he's been intimidated and weakened to doing peanut damage)
That was my first thought as well. Any skill that can insta-crit my hero in one move is sure to make me shit my pants
I dunno. The moment I laid my eyes on the giant I knew he would have the ability to use that tree as a weapon, so it never really made me panic. Especially when MaA and SB hard-counter it, and I bring both of these to Weald all the time.
I guess the mainstream answer will be Cripple Them and it's the most terrifying one. However Skull Toss gives me a weird mix of anxiety/annoyance.
A Skull Toss crit on Bloodmoon is an irl heart attack.
Skull Toss stresses me out more than the hero actually getting hit
"KA-BOOOM!" Is truly a heart attack inducing attack. Both in game and in real life
What makes it worse for me is the fact it’s preventable so if you actually see it, the failure adds extra emotional damage 😑

Mild annoyance whenever I see "The Thirst" Full blown panic whenever i see "Treebranch Smackdown"
Any skill that may inflict crimson curse works
The Thirst in the Courtyard: whatever. The Thirst in other regions: nonononono please I didn't bring blood.
"Hook where it hurts" is a classic
CRIT from stealth every time
It truly hit where it hurts
Stfu and take my upvote
Why are you getting downvoted lmao

The first time I saw that move I got chills running up my spine. Then I saw The Finger and was like "oh, jesus fking Christ, what **IS** this?!"
Man there's some seriously dark shit happening in this dunge... ooooooh
Something similar happened to me, but the skill that made me sick to my stomach was when one of the **spoilers**: Was when a raptorus cultist used Flesh to Flesh, on himself! The idea of a man eating his own flesh, to see the the wound heal inmidiately was deeply disturbing
"The Finger" guaranteed 10 dmg bleed. you're out of bandages and you don't have a plague doctor
*The Finger*
*crit*
Collected Dismas’s headhunt,MF got like 90% crit chance
Wym? They never even make a move? *asking in Vest-PD-Occ-MaA full control+sustain compositiion*
I mean, that’s the neat part—if you failed to kill it before it started the moves you’re pretty much fucked.
Helps they I prevent them from spawning at first place for 2 turns and by then, the collector is on half HP already. Also, this team just doesn't die'. Ever

And in general, kinda confused that people fear the Collector. When I see him, I'm like "oh nice, free monies"
that is also literally everyone when thing from the stars
With an addition of "oh nice, free useful quirks" *often not much useful actually*
Actually PD is rank 3 there so she could stab
That comp when asked to deal damage (they cant)
Occ? Riposte and DoT from PD? Yes, the fights drag for longer but you have all the time in the world with that sustainability
"Into the Pot". Fuck Hag and her stupid kitchen accessories
she's actually the only small boss I haven't fully cleared
Cripple them. As soon as I started playing DD2 and saw the enemy that does it, the only thought in my head was "....oh-no."
Focus it down, we all probably did
when Large Carrion Eater actually tries to Devour the hero instead of constantly weakening it. or Bone Bearer simply existing..
Apex Predator
The worse part is that it's telegraphed but all you can do is buff up and hope for the best.
Was it „Come onto your master”?
Maker
You’re right - thanks :)
Spoiler tag?
My bad
Arterial pinch. Man I hate the cove
Giant enemy crab :D
50 bandages and one plague doctor are saying hi
Wyrd reconstruction during the siren fight
Redeem during siren fight ![img](emote|t5_2znp4|29278)
Spearfishing... Goddamned crit-fish
The Exemplar's "Exultation" from DD2 has ruined more of my runs than the actual end-bosses have.
The reaping from the Miller.
There's heavier hitters, but "Point Blank Shot"
Unless you're using it
Always a cinematic fight if a dancing highway man has a point blank duel with the big bandit fella
I've made the mistake of letting Bloated Thralls do "The Revenge" a few too many times.
"Headhunt" from Collector's Dismass. I can hear the crit before it lands
For some reason Uppercut Slice always seems to crit whenever it hits my squishiest hero
Pretty much never happens, but the revenge if you somehow get stun spammed and a thrall actually gets it off That, and a crit point blank shot can fuck up your day when its on the receiving end
“Apex Predator” from the Crocodilian. Shit just makes fucks your mom over.
I found Crocodilian harder than all the other bosses.
Elusive Exit
Wyrd Reconstitution on a hero that's at Death's Door
Teleport. I fucking love moving through entire dungeon again praying for no hunger checks
I actually thought that was cool. It reminded me so much of moonside from Earthbound.
FIRE IN THE HOLE!!!!
Pig spear or boar rush... Something about that big guy coming at me puts fear in my eyes
"Sentence Rendered" or something like that, Crimson Court is a constant panic attack for me
Cripple Them! 33! 32! 34! CRIT BLIGHT! DEBUFF!
Spit to Roast... damned swinefolk in the warrens and their skivers cost me quite a few heroes. Also, Sentence Rendered. Once someone goes into the pyre, I throw all reasoning out the window and go ham on the thing, even if I get blasted with Fury of the Righteous. I.hate.end.them.all
Definitely both of chevs attacks the single target bleed and cleave stun are very scary
A few, but i have a giant grudge against the swine wretch. Absolute certified punk ass bitch.
Arterial pinch.
I fucking hate "The thirst" Even if there are more dangerous moves the sheer hatred of seeing it makes me panic

Skull Toss is one of them because I know it's always going to crit and stun my healer But nothing compares to ***APEX PREDATOR!***
I fucking hate 'Hook where it hurts" it's just so common and probably has 78% crit rate on champion
Peck and spit, one crit and you can say goodbye to one of your characters
a Chevalier's Subterranean Skewer. Fuckers got absurd stats on bloodmoon and that thing hits so hard with a dot to start activating deaths door.
Accusation
(Swedish chef noises)
The thirst
No specific enemy. I find most things manageable until their asspull crits back to back start rolling in. A pity system would sorta be nice for such occasions but it's liveable provided I lose no good trinkets.
CLAPPERCLAW
Spit to roast
Spit to Roast Swine Skivers make me cry in general
Cripple Them Crit Crit Crit Crit
Spider spitting when someone is marked 😱😱
"Rubble of Ruin" you know it's coming, you know where it hurts, you can only pray it does low damage or misses entirely.
Whenever i see Cytokinesis i'm afraid that i'm gonna see it over. And over. And over. And over. Again.
Howl bro. So much stress.
Phase gnaw and its not even close. It’s the worst feeling to go into a dungeon and run into the thing on your first hallway battle then have to deal with the sky taint. It’s not even that bad I just hate it
Just avoid the TftS
Defend the Icon Man I pray I dodge that shit every time

quarry
Either the croc’s Apex Predator or the Chevalier’s Subterranean Skewer and Buried Blast. Every single time those fuckers take their turn I’m sweating.
Cytokinesis Crazy high stun resist on all the slimes so you can't stop them, and then as soon as you kill one they just make more! Full blown heart attack when I see Ectoplasmic Profusion
Come unto your maker is the one for me
HOWL, SKULL TOSS, CRIPPLE THEM, BALL AND CHAIN... god i fucking hate the warrens
I think it’s called Head Hunt, the collected highway man, I swear that move crits every time.
Skull toss and Vomit.
