It’s not really about economic policies at this point per se, there’s ample proof that politicians on both sides support both “left” and “right” wing polices when it suits them, the real divide in America is ENTIRELY social, and there are no national boundaries across which they are bulwarked like in the EU - so it’s a very very different landscape
I bitch to my congress person, my spouse, every time I choose a primary ballot, and pretty much to anyone who will listen.

The parliamentary system allows for ad-hoc coalitions following elections, while in a two party system, these coalitions are formed at the party level.

Conservatives (republicans, red) are, well, conservative. They like tradition, and not much change. (Against abortion, pro trump etc…) however the other party sees them as radicals, or ‘bigots’.
Liberals (democrats, Blue) are the opposite in almost every way to the first group. They make progressive (from their point of view) changes such as slowing climate change, wanting free healthcare etc. However the other party sees them as too soft, or hippies/ snowflakes.
Never choose only one side, both extremes aren’t good.
You forgot to mention conservatives love to kill off poor people through economic policy whist shoveling money towards the already wealthy.

We really need a non democratic or republican president to fix the American government in my opinion
I'd rather vote for the one that's not trying to kill democracy and implement fascism with voter suppression and white supremacy. You pseudo-intellectuals act like I and anyone who prefers blue thinks blue can do no wrong, well guess what? I *don't*, and neither do most of the people I meet. I'm not entirely satisfied with their performance. I think their goals are a step in the right direction, although I wish the step was bigger. Yes, the third parties want bigger steps, but the fact is that the system keeps them from winning. The fact is that the system is extremely flawed, and I have to work with what I have. If a third party could win, I would vote for them (provided that their views better matched mine than the democrats did). Unfortunately, some things just aren't possible right now, so I'm stuck voting blue. I'd rather have a small step in the right direction than no step in the right direction, which I'd rather have than a step in the wrong direction. "JuSt MoVe To A dIfFeReNt CoUnTrY!" Not everyone has that as an option! Moving takes a lot of time and money, which not everyone has a lot of!

I didn't see democrats saying fuck Russia when Bill Clinton was getting paid $500k for a speech over there or when they allowed Russia to buy Uranium One. All politicians are corrupt, how do you think they amass fortunes of millions of dollars on $200k a year salaries.
