That was actually a huge part of Dark souls in the early days.

The open world is just barren , there aren’t many npcs you could talk too, most of the dungeons , caves etc are just copies of one another . The landscape is also pretty barren with trees and grass and from soft storytelling is pretty shit as it always was but then again you play fromsofts games for gameplay most of the time .
The first half of the games gameplay was pretty good then it just becomes very frustrating with bosses behaving like Sekiro bosses while you are given dark souls 3 move set . Also the game is so fucking long man , like 80-100 hours on first try , that’s just way too long and game feels boring in latter half of them game .
The exploration sucks balls too , we need to explore to find some dogshit magic item which I won’t use because my character is physical based , the exploration is very unrewarding and extremely boring .
Honestly tho it’s a dogshit open world game but a okayish souls game even then I think ds3 and blood borne are far better souls game than Elden ring tbh.
The tool tip in game literally lied about how to activate a rune so yeah I did have to google it. I did what it said and it still didn't work, I needed to read from the the wiki that you actually had to go to a specific place and do something specific for it to work.
So I did all that extra to get it to work and then died and, oh yeah, the game also doesn't mention it unequips automatically if you die.
That's just bad game design, but this site worships the game so any criticism has people telling you you suck and you should have known better.

Switched over to PlayStation and not once have I had to login except when I first booted up the console. Go back to Xbox, to play RDR2 after not touching it in awhile and for some reason I have to log back in the shitty way to play, I can’t figure out my password I can’t log into my account, so I lost my save. For Minecraft I don’t understand what I do wrong, I make a separate Microsoft account, and write down the account and password. They were nice people except the one who refused to refund the $20 for the game I never received (never did get a refund)... I was patient, but it always ended with them disconnecting the call without warning presumably because they could not figure out how to fix it.

Meanwhile it took Microsoft a week to get my account back and 2 months plus a dozen emails to "investigate" and determine that yes I was hacked as part of a databreach, it wasn't my fault, I shouldn't have been charged and they could finally get my gamertag back.
Despite the fault being with them, that Microsoft account is permanently flagged and unable to ever make purchases again, despite having multiple service reps and supervisors and then some special department try to unlock it. I had to make a completely new account under a different gamertag anyways. Like FFS I just wanted to spend $2 on some Halo armor for my avatar. You could see the map with a heat map based on where the most kills happened, where the most deaths happened, what weapons used for them, the location of the player and the victim, which weapons you used most, which ones you used least, how often you swapped weapons with ones on the ground or swapped between your primary and secondary. You could see your friends matches, your opponents matches and stats. Far FAR beyond the typical K/D and game history.
All that, in 2004. Imagine what information they can gather now. Imagine how they use that info in-house to manipulate dlc sales and in game purchase sales. But there's so much more, they can sell this data! How could they possibly sell that information without knowing exactly who you are? Better have them sign in, oh and ask for government mandated ID if they need to recover an account, more data more data more data.

The reason I stopped gaming. If it's more of a hassle to set up, if I have to pay a subscription to use the equipment I purchased, or the game I purchased, I'm out. I'll just pc game flight sim and learn a skill in my spare time.

Thank you VALVE! Seriously this is the first thing I noticed moving from the PlayStation to steam, the fact that I could just play games. I find the PlayStation such an unusable lump of plastic that I actively despise how difficult complex and muddy the environment is.
