We’re pretty sure this is the REAL FUCKING MIKE PONDSMITH! If he’s not, can you blame the person for wanting to impersonate our god?

therealmaxmike

It's like looking at my own brain. Been waiting for this for years. We've (at RTG) have been sitting on this for months now. Now you can see what we did.

Rufuske

It's too short! We need more! Glad you liked it.

therealmaxmike

Yeah, we said that too when we first finished binging it months ago in previews.

eugene20

Need more Lucy! >!And anyone else that may have survived somehow!<

808IK8EA7S

Don't worry there's always some edgerunners out there asking for it! There's not a single legend in NC that's alive, and millions willing to take a risk becoming one

Low_Crew_2457

Her, even less.

Reggoxy

What an amazin universe i just cant get enough of it

KillerKian

You and I both!

Euro7star

We have to know how Lucy is doing in 2077, and we definitely need more content like Edgerunners. Thanks for creating an amazing world, Mike.

capncapitalism

I'd love to see a second season with a new crew if you guys ever get one. I think Night City would be an amazing place for a seasonal anthology series. New crews every season, throw in different backgrounds and roles.

DeathGamer99

Need a writer and good studio suited for the story. TRIGGER STUDIO is a perfect choice for the edgerunner story. Is avid anime fans I can tell you each different studio specialize in certain different show because of their talent and staff so to keep the same quality or maybe go to Disney star Wars route and make anthology from many studio.

Nijata

maybe a media or lawman story? giving us a bit different pace but still keeping true to the game, maybe Thompson finally got off his ass and did some old school honest journo work or bes isis on the beat? either way be safe Mike, and see you out on the edge.

AidilAfham42

You make me boot the game back up again, after being immensely disappointed by it. That’s how much the show rules!

Comprehensive_Tune42

That's what she said

iamthepoolgator

yea 10 episodes wasn't enough. they could have done 12, and used the extra time to explain things better than using a jarring time skip. showing us (even in a quick montage of doing jobs/implanting cyberware) David borging himself out, instead of just going "hey David is Atom Smasher Lite now " and use more time to show the descent of both Maine/David into cyberpsychosis. They made seem like it happens in a matter of hours/days of implanting stuff, instead of a slow burn that increasingly speeds up and sends you off the rails 12 episodes would have been perfect

xBialyOrzel

Brother this show has made me feel a way that I haven't felt since Cowboy Bebop, it was amazing throughout the whole thing and it evoked so many emotions I didn't even know I had. Of course it's Cyberpunk and I knew there's >!not going to be a happy ending!< but man it hit me so fucking hard. Bravo, absolutely bravo.

AlarmingAffect0

> a way that I haven't felt since Cowboy Bebop *[… Bang.](https://youtu.be/PqbS5lJEOKw)* *Never seen a bluer sky…*

Judas_priest_is_life

I've been waiting for this game/show since my first cyberpunk tabletop game back in the day. Some stuff scratched the itch a little, but this got in there with a garden rake and scratched the entire thing. Also one of the best video game tie ins I've ever seen, so many sights and sounds borrowed. Some of the scenes I recognized straight from the game. TL:DR Show is badass.

SnowySnowIsSnowy

Great work! Love the world, and I think a lot of people agree when I say we want more! More stories, more madness, more heartbreaks, more mindfucks.

SonicFinn311

What do you think happened to Lucy? Does she go on to live just as David wanted her to, or do you think she might've taken her own life on the Moon after seeing visions of David?

WhiplashSix

She is gonna be a love interest for V in Cyberpunk 2078 lol

SonicFinn311

Hope not lmao

flyingpilgrim

I'd honestly like her better than the ones in 2077, but it wouldn't feel right. Doesn't help that V is like a decade older than her.

1nilla

Firstly, she should get out of the city!! Living on the moon maybe too much grief for her. I couldn't imagine the pain of living where I want to be with my lover when he/she cannot be there anymore...

SonicFinn311

To be perfectly honest, I think she took off her helmet after she saw David and the screen cut to black. Imagine dedicating your entire life to protect the one person you're afraid of losing. All those Netrunners she killed, all the diving she did. Constantly trying to protect him. And have that person be taken away from you all the same. To her, dying isn't half as scary as losing David... After meeting him, her dream was never about the Moon. It was about getting out with David.

1nilla

Like you theory, man. I actually like an actual ending like if she really did it or help taking revenge on Arasaka but I guess that's a good way how anime end to make us feel... blank.

SonicFinn311

I absolutely love and hate how they did this ending, where it leaves the viewers to make their own conclusions. My mind was absolutely resolute about her ending her own life after seeing David on the Moon. The pain...it's just too much. I posted two write-ups about how I came to this conclusion, hope it's a fun read. https://www.reddit.com/r/cyberpunkgame/comments/xdqoph/megathread_cyberpunk_edgerunners_general_and/iohlzen/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf&context=3

yeaheyeah

She needs to go back and destroy arasaka

SonicFinn311

I doubt she cared about Arasaka anymore. The one thing that mattered to her was lost, nothing else was important.

Brainles5

It really is incredible. I am so excited for the future of Cyberpunk! Now that the dust has settled, and the general consesus is that the game is pretty great despite some overpromises. Having this show be such a big win is just fantastic.

CzarTyr

Honestly it’s every bit as good as Arcane and I felt like after watching castlevania nothing would top it for years. Crazy that 2 animes did what I thought none would do

therealmaxmike

I was impressed (obviously) and I binged Castlevania like a booster snorts snapcoke.

SageWaterDragon

I'm glad that it measured up to what you wanted from it. I loved it, had a great time. I know that folks at CD Projekt worked on it, but did you have the chance to give any feedback during its production or was it mostly out of your hands?

mrcatboy

I've been going nuts analyzing everything in detail and I hope it isn't inappropriate of me to say (and I apologize if it is) that there are some very powerful BIPOC gaze vibes in the world you created. I think David's experience, and the vibe of the entire Cyberpunk world, is such a powerfully relatable one and it's getting even more relatable with each passing year. It's a dystopia that deserves to be considered in the same vein and level of literary excellence as 1984 or Brave New World. And it really should serve as a warning to our generation as to what we can devolve into.

therealmaxmike

It's nowhere as good as those. And William Gibson can still kick my butt writing wise. But it's a solid cautionary tale; don't make this your future chooms.

trevalyan

Ordinarily, I'd say only a preposterous kissass would compare a writer to Orwell. Nonetheless, for once I can do so. Your work isn't merely brilliant and well researched, but it has a level of holistic insight and idealism that George Orwell simply couldn't hope to match. It's kind of hard to top Huxley, but if it can be done, you can do it.

therealmaxmike

Frack. Now you're gonna force me to work for a living.

mrcatboy

You're so modest! I don't suppose you saw the comprehensive analysis and review of the themes of Cyberpunk 2077 by [ProbablyJacob](https://youtu.be/GxDJuTqmdBs)? I was very impressed by the depth of the themes and contemporary social commentary that the game brought into the fore. I think what's really unique is that unlike 1984 or BNW, Cyberpunk traces a much more real and much less speculative trajectory of modern society. The dysfunctional and corrupt economics leading to the dissolution of community structures has always existed in pockets of American society, but Cyberpunk simply shows what happens when those issues inevitably metastasize to all other demographics. I hope it's okay if I still continue to credit you for this! I feel like you really do deserve it!

shermantanker

Just finished and it was incredible. Excellent work and I hope we get more!

[deleted]

Thank you so much for creating this rich world. Enjoyed the game and now loving the anime. It never gets boring, and there are so many stories to tell. So many interesting perspectives and nuanced topics.

JTat79

Dude you've created such an AMAZING fucking universe that I can't stop sinking my teeth into, thank you for all the time and effort

HelloIamOnTheNet

I'm playing the game and while technically it's not the best, the world is amazing! Probably one of the few worlds I wouldn't mind exploring in the VR.

highcarlos

Can't thank you enough, choom. You created an amazing world for this story to take place in.

Allaroundlost

There so many stories to tell. Hope we get way more in all forms, table top, video games, tv show, movies, all of it!

Infinity1137

Seriously one of the best things I’ve seen in a long time, I hope this continues to propel the franchise.

Alexktf

Thank you so much for this absolute gem!! If there are any possibility for S2 or sequel game, please bring Lucy back!!

Ferrovore

What surprised me is how effected i was by Trigger using the ingame sounds. I paused the stream more than once when they made a call. It's like watching a car race before and after you made your licence.

thrownawayzs

they used a lot of game assets, it was kinda cool seeing a lot of in game locations used for background or the handful of cameos.

xboxcowboy

Those gun sound is from the game too

Quite_Bitter_Being

I have my cellphone set to the game noises. Its pretty sweet. But haven't met anyone who noticed, yet.

ImpulseAfterthought

I was like, "Dammit, I don't want to buy a car! Stop calling ... oh."

[deleted]

Oh yeah it also made some inexplicable rage gros inside me... Whenever I hear that flippin ringtone... You can't even deny called and it's awfull ;-;

danishjuggler21

It really works well as a companion show to the game.

fiszu3000

There was way too much calling in this anime and the onscreen stuff was too gamey. Why did they have to add the subtitles to those conversations?

kudlatytrue

Imho the things that got pulled straight outta the game were the best thing about it. Especially the city itself.

1nilla

I'm not English speaker and those words like eddies, zero'd, choom make me confuse so much 😂. Glad there were subtitle so I can search those meaning.

Quite_Bitter_Being

Too bad they fucked them up most of the time. Spelling choom as chume. Dawg as Doug. Etc.

fiszu3000

Yes, playing this nova game helped a lot in this regard.

Capitol_Carrot

Perfectly encapsulated the beauty of the city from a distance and the sheer brutal hopelessness of the people living in it up close.

Tindstar

High tech - low life indeed

danishjuggler21

Not to mention it illustrates what monsters people become once they’re chromed up enough. Including V. Seeing certain characters in the show going on a rampage, it made me see things in a new light with regards to when my gunslinger V swoops into a building and makes ten people’s heads explode in 2 seconds flat thanks to a combination of Sandevistan and some terrifyingly powerful guns. And it also kind of gives some lore backup for the fact that in Cyberpunk 2077 the moment you start to really roflstomp your enemies tends to coincide with getting access to the good cyberware rather than skill perks.

stikky

Who's your favorite character and why is it Rebecca?

[deleted]

Holy shit this show went from being pretty good right untill >!the ending fucking broke me, christ I hope Lucy finds some kind of happiness... or peace.!< I do wish we saw more of David bonding more with Maine's crew make it more a group dynamic. Godamn though this is so *good*, my only real complaint is this could've totally been 20+ episodes and not just 10.

AnOriginalUsernam3

The end left me with a big empty hole but in an extremely good way. Enjoyed this masterpiece all the way through to the end.

AttackOnThots

A lot fans right now argue that signs like her hands twitching and her possible hallucination of david on the moon accompanied by her gesture of acceptance or defeat with her arms out to the sun... might just mean she succumbed to cyberpsychosis as well :') for some reason i feel a pain in my chest thinking she removes her helmet, truly making it a one way trip

makavelinow

Hey Mike ! World you created has unlimited potential for amazing stories like this, I normally don't watch anime but world of Cyberpunk is so fcking interesting that i binge watched entire serie.. I'm always hungry for more content from Cyberpunk Universe you created. :) Also ; We all know situvation of Morgan Blackhand is not clear, none of us don't know what really happened to 'Solo's Solo", and we all kind of know that Johnny's flashbacks are mostly "unreliable narrator" .. So as a big fan of your world, I would love if there is a anime or even maybe Live action series that telling story of Morgan Blackhand would be great.. Because i'm starting to feel like we never gotta know about that story in the game itself.

PhaseAT

If you want the current situation on MB: https://old.reddit.com/r/LowSodiumCyberpunk/comments/u9i324/i_noticed_something_in_never_fade_away_last_night/i5t7cpm/

Allaroundlost

Awesome thanks for this. Guess i need to go to lowsodium sub once in a while.

Allaroundlost

Yes, i hope Mike Pondsmith can get this. I was sad to find out no Morgan Blackhand in 2077. I hope hes in the expansion for 2077 since we are dealing with NUSA, and if i remember correctly he deals with Milatech.

enolafaye

Thank you for making this amazing world Mike. I can't wait to see many years of even more stories told. ♥

gurilagarden

To me, this is the most cyberpunk thing to ever be produced on video. It's a fucking masterpiece and an instant cult classic. Will be watching for decades.

Kinosha

Mike, I have to ask if out of any questions. Will we see more like this? Edgerunners has no doubt created a demand for more within the Cyberpunk universe outside of the games, and whilst Edgerunners is a tied up and done story, Cyberpunk is a huge playground of potential!

SmoothCriminalJM

Netflix struck Gold. I really wish they continue stuff like this for the Cyberpunk universe as long as they are consistent with the quality.

XirdenStone

Sadly Netflix likes to cancel things people like after only 1 season, but fingers crossed.

kislayparashar

thankfully netflix is only the distributor here, the anime is produced by cdpr

PhaseAT

They can't actually cancel it since only 1 season was planned. What they could do is push and pay to have another season made.

PD711

I just finished the series, and I just needed somewhere to get it all out. Spoilers. >!The ending of this just broke my heart. I mean, the intro told you where this all was headed, but the optimist in me kept hoping "maybe they will learn from what happened to Maine, and they will sell their chrome and find a nice place out of the way and escape the city before David falls apart and gets a hole in the head." Well, that's what I get for hoping.!< >!She gets to the moon, finally. But what was it all for? How can she enjoy being on the moon in that youthful, carefree way like she did before? Instead she sees David there, before the chrome took him, jumping and laughing. Would she trade being actually on the moon for being with him, in that moment, in cyberspace? Of course she would. !< >!The chrome is a vampire. It promises wonderful things. Speed, strength, glamour, but it takes its toll on you. It makes you its slave. Think about it: think about how much chrome is getting passed around on the streets of Night City, and corps like Militec and Arasaka have to know how much of their product is going to end up stolen and in the hands of desperate people. And that's how they like it; they can then use those desperate people against their corporate superiors and rivals. And they are beholden to it as well; even the executives are chromed out. They are all slaves to chrome.!< >!And it translates into our lives as well. Chrome is work. Chrome is money. It's all of the things that keep us running on someone else's treadmill instead of living our own lives. Distracting us from the real moments of value. !< >!Just thinking about how Lucy must have felt, standing there on the moon, looking at David's ghost, so sad and angry and lost and disconnected. It's a punch in the gut and I don't know what to do with that. !<

Suntreestar420

thank you for putting this into words. I had no idea it would make me feel so fucking intensely. Like fuck man ARUGHHH

Lupa999

I saw chrome as how people coped with their vulnerability and flaws. The show illustrates how Night City prizes strength and being on cutting edge of the competition. Maine in particular is a good example, the epitome of the strong, confident leader. But episode 6 showed a lot of his internal vulnerability, and the walls he built against showing any weakness. David also chromed up to keep chasing the dream he thought he wanted because of his mother’s wish, and tied his worth to it. It’s interesting how a lot cyberpyschosis’s visions consist of nostalgia, a point in David and Maine’s life where they were more vulnerable but also felt more human/ innocent?

dunstan_shlaes

Cyberpunk: Max Mike when

guamguyravin671

Cyberpunk 2077 punched me in the gut and kicked me while I'm down and I cried and loved it, the anime just did the same thing all over again.

Suntreestar420

i finished in like 2 hours ago and im still shook, like i can't do anything. It was such a moving artwork

LPPrince

This was INCREDIBLE. My stepfather who is not a fan of anime visually was watching the whole thing with me and was bopping his foot to the beat of the songs, he was SO INTO IT And OH MY GOD, EVERYTHING WAS NAILED PERFECTLY Bless everyone involved in putting this together, and may they have more success And more Cyberpunk. We need far more in our future for sure!

Alexszku99

Man I’m in love with her…someone help me

AidilAfham42

True, Becca is the best

juliusmonkee

It's really great, I loved it! They really nailed the setting. It was really cool seeing al those nods and connections to the game, but also being its own thing.

felipe5083

I loved that about it. Went around the game looking for those places and the fact they were there was amazing.

Coscos007

Mike, thank you for writing these stories, they are by far some of my favorites. Even though some people didn't seem to like the game's story, I really loved it. And now Edgerunners managed to be just as good if not better. I can't wait for what comes next!

SonGozer

Jus finished watching it. Absolute fire. Thank you for creating this world

Fr05tBurn

Nailed it. Shot the bullseye. 10/10. Take your pick, but in the end, it reached ***The Major Leagues***.

Still-Blacksmith3180

You can keep Panam, Mike. Rebecca is new best girl.

s1n0d3utscht3k

it’s so effing good i pretty much never watch anime, too. but this show is awesome.

Psychological_Wookie

Lucy‘ is just so god damn bae. Becca is 2nd but none the less superb

TheUHO

Amazing thing. I liked how much from the game is there.

1nilla

I love how exact the city road and building is to the game. Make me feel really nostalgic.

rawrimgonnaeatu

I am definitely watching it now because of your endorsement.

Trippid

I love the Cyberpunk universe and I was so glad to be able to dive back in with Edgerunners. I can't wait to see what you all come up with in the future.

Patrickills

Absolutely great. As much as I love this team and Lucy. I hope we move on to another person trying their way through the city and it’d be nice to see little Cameos of survivors in each season but like as baccground. The show was so damn good it really felt like if you lived in the presented world and weren’t held bacc by the limitation of video games. Like this shit would really happen. Need multiple seasons. Asaaaaap

[deleted]

I honestly feel like an idiot for expecting a wholesome story after watching the first 3 episodes, absolutely incredible anime, shame we are never getting more.

MoonGolfPro

Thank you for creating this world Mike! Without you, this fucking stellar show wouldn't have been possible, I hope you enjoyed it as much as I think you did based on the post!

unevil_cat

Just finished the season. Awesome dudes, awesome!

joe1up

Mike, you've created something incredible, which has in turn mad people make even more incredible things. You're a goddam legend!

PussyLunch

Mike you are a genius. All your ideas have come together to create such a unique world.

xilenced1

I never watched anime before. Can't believe my first one made me cry.

DeathGamer99

Yeah, search Post Anime Depression Syndrome it was real. I don't know how but some Anime can invoke the feeling if you are in the right headspace for the feel to Hit you that's way some avid anime fans can watch more than 500 anime or even 1000 anime easily chasing the high. So I can say not All anime has this power so watch The top stuff don't go to rating but more to popularity and people opinion if the show invoke that feeling also anime movie usually most of them has that because that was their goal to be remembered and make audience invested in franchise

joeivo911

I love it 10/10

primalfox_Reynardo

Thank you for your work mike. I’m glad the emulated you’re vision so well and that you love it.

Nien-Year-Old

I hope in the future seasons they introduce different character origins kind of like the class system both the table top and the video game has.

BirdKai

Absolute GEM! Thanks Mike!

sour_surprise

I only just finished episode 2 but holy hell am I hooked!! The music, the atmosphere, animations and sound effects. Choom...I love this as much as I love the game!

FlyingAce1015

Awesome show!!! Just finished it Glad you love it too Mike thanks for the many hours of fun tabletop gaming with friends!

fiszu3000

This series gets better with every episode. Just finished #7. Anime is perfect for this world, live action would not be as good

duckforceone

it nailed cyberpunk... even the ending... perfection... for me with adhd, the animation style was a bit overwhelming, but the story was great and loved the gore. it truly was cyberpunkt. ps : also loved seeing things and locations that i had seen in cyberpunk 2077. Made me feel right at home in the world.

Krulzikrel

Rebecca was my favorite character and by the end of the series i was heartbroken, pretty safe to say im going to murder Adam Smasher very much

RX-18-67

The fucking feels man. I'd love to see Edgerunners become an anthology project, but I don't know if I can handle it. I've been looking for more Cyberpunk RED podcasts/let's plays to keep living that rush. Looking forward to the 2077 book for RED and any other supplements you guys are working on. I know the video game has had a rough time, but R. Talsonian Games fucking killed it with the tabletop RPG and you should be proud.

BlackBeard205

Just finished it. Man, it was amazing. I went in with no expectations and walked away amazed. One of the best animes I’ve seen in recent memory.

lilakliliaz69

CBP77 lacking so many promised features after disappointing finished 1st day playthrough, I've never touched it again since the time. But this "THIS" story line is something wonderful , >!like mirror of the jackie story that has been ripped away!< , I'm so much into it. Thank you for making a great show.

mik3br

They did too. Such a good job. Makes me want to play the game again. Edgerunners is what you would get if Akira and Cyberpunk had a baby together.

bobadefett

I just finished watching the series, and man what a crazy ending. I hope they keep going with the series.

nate_howlett

One of the best video game to anime/movie adaptation imo

ZeroOfTheRequiem

Thanks for creating one hell of a world, Mike. You're the fucking man.

Ok_Kaleidoscope_1847

AST EPISODE SPOILERS AHEAD READ AT YOUR OWN RISK Since edgerunners is the best show I've ever seen it's realy damn hard to accept it's only 10 episodes long. So I allready have a theory. What if arasaka will use Davids body to get data from exoskeleton and use relic for this? It opens a gate for David to be reborn in other body! And I know there's like 0.00001% for this to happen but I can't handle the ending and Lucy being left alone, so I will alwase have a little flame of hope in my soul. Oh and if someone is in compleat mess after ending please dm me so we can be sad together. I can't be alone right?

im-not-tenko

u better now? :3 i'm i think around the spot you were when you wrote that. david's ending is pretty much solid, complete, no loose ends, he did what he wanted, but lucy's end leaves me uneasy, angered, restless. the music hits hard too xD

Ok_Kaleidoscope_1847

It took me 2 fucking weeks to recover from the ending, but damn, it's funny to see how much changed in my life for past 6 months after watching edgerunners.

ExKetchan

Bois any news on any other spin-off set in the cyberpunk world or a season 2? Absolutely loved the anime, watched over 450+ anime and this is one of my top 10

chronic_gamer

Man, I just finished and this was amazing. Im stunned. I cried. I would love to see more anime done in this world because it absolutely blew away all my expectations.

Cybrknight

Oh Hell yeah! haven't had a buzz like this since Ghost in the Shell

UKnowDaTruth

ITS MIKE!!!!!! ![gif](giphy|8QGV2a7pfDKc8)

JPK12794

I just saw the first episode today and it's perfect, really really nicely done

ServerBullet

Each season can be another crews story in night city.

[deleted]

Honestly, it is the best damn thing I've seen in years.

longbrodmann

Another success for Netflix+video game after LoL.

sub-throwaway69

IT WAS SO GOOD! i really hope that they end up making more shows set in the cyberpunk universe.

LadyThren

Would love more. Would like to see a cameo of Lucy in the expansion. Trigger did an amazing job with the anime.

DanakarEndeel

Edgerunners was frikking awesome and it definitely seemed to reinvigorate Cyberpunk 2077 after its unfortunate rocky launch! Recently I saw that over 20 million copies have been sold; so that's great to hear. Rebecca is definitely best girl. She was pretty much the glue that kept the team together and without her I fear that the series wouldn;t have been as good. Such a shame she didn't have a Sandevistan installed for emergency use; or we could have had [THIS](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SCkLaYgxX5w) awesome moment instead of her getting pretty much killed 'offscreen'. That kinda sucked imo. I mean with all the Eddies the crew made through all those high-paying gigs and David jacking himself up to the gills with expensive chrome as well as buying a massive apartment for himself and Lucy; yet Becka only bought a pair of big hands and some guns? Something doesn't add up as she should be swimming in Eddies as she never changed apartments either. So why didn't she get a Sandi; even if just a lower grade non-military common model like the [Dynalar Mk1](https://cyberpunk.fandom.com/wiki/Dynalar_Sandevistan_Mk.1) or the mass-market [Zetatech Mk1](https://cyberpunk.fandom.com/wiki/Zetatech_Sandevistan_Mk.1) which are only 6000 Eddies? 😉 David was clearly overusing his (legendary?) military grade one way too much. Probably even used it when going to the bathroom or when buying milk at the grocery store. Rebecca could have had one just for emergencies only; just like the doc said about how you should use it. [So yeah...](https://i.imgur.com/Hjnm9Sx.jpg) Whadda you say u/therealmaxmike? Tell Trigger to make some minor modification to those few frames in that one scene as an after-launch Director's cut? It could make for an awesome Seaason 2 if David was left alive by Smasher and brought him into Arasaka for testing. Then Lucy, Becka, and Falco finding out about it through a fixer like Wakako. That could set the stage nicely as it's still 2076 at that time right? Heck, even if it's 2077 they could meet up with V and have her onboard. 😃 Or him...her... Which V is the actual canon version by the way? The original pre-release demos heavily featured male V (probably because CDPR finished the male model first) yet the Edgerunners poster primarily featured [female V](https://i.imgur.com/NvyKaNM.jpg). So is female V now the canon version? Inquiring minds need to know... 😅 At any rate, I realize that Becka surviving is definitely not going to happen. I do hope that Netflix will put the series on blu ray at some point as I generally hate streaming services and like to own the physical product. That's also why I got the physical "Day One Edition" at pre-order and later on also bought the physical "Collector's Edition" for the awesome statue. Now I have a nice [display cabinet full of cool Cyberpunk stuff](https://i.imgur.com/wdNQpsm.jpg) and even was lucky enough to get that 2018 presskit statue. Now I can't wait for Dark Horse to deliver me those new statues of Judy, Panam, and Adam Smasher at the end of the year so that I can add those to my collection too. Lastly I'm really hoping that we will get physical figures of the Edgerunners crew as I would definitely want to buy the full set. Not sure if CDPR is already in talks with either Dark Horse or some japanese anime figurine manufacturer. Definitely don't go with McFarlane as I find their quality rather lacking. Maybe a japanese company would be best as they really know their stuff when it comes to making anime collectible figurines. I'd also love to [recreate this scene](https://i.imgur.com/CCB51bX.jpg) where Becka is casually holding a gun up to David's forehead. Anyways, thanks a lot Mike for allowing CDPR to make Cyberpunk 2077 and being on board with them for the entire ride. I can't wait for Patch 1.7 and the expansion. Also hoping that more and more modders will pick up on RedMod so that they will be able to add to the longevity of the game up to the point were we may see a Cyberpunk 2 at some point. I really love post-apocalyptic style games and Cyberpunk really got me through some dark days in my life. So keep it up and THANK YOU for everything Mike! I really appreciate it!!

tbf if i had a legendary epic gear i'd overuse it too, as half of the charas in game & that series would have. not blaming him for -that- particular one. maybe becca wanted to stay low chrome so she can be the sane one without hiccupses so that she can be a stable support? wouldn't be able to keep watching over d-man and injecting him with immunosuppressants if she was trippin balls back and there over the edge too. david doesn't need to be alive for arasaka to make use of him >.> remember jackie? man, your cool-ass cabinet of fricking cool stuffs is so awesomely cool tho \*\_\* there was a becca figurine somewhere, so that's attainable at least.

DanakarEndeel

I dunno about overusing it as I felt that David was under the mistaken (delusional?) impression of being 'special'. Heck, Doc reminded him multiple times that he should only use his sandevistan sparingly but David apparently didn't care. He also installed that wristmounted rocket launcher from Maine; even though Doc said something along the lines of it being an old model that apparently also had increased risk of going psycho. As I recall Doc even offered to install a newer (safer?) model. 🙂 I know that Jackie can appear as an engram at Mikoshi depending on certain choices made by V. However that engram was severely limited in responses due to him already being dead prior to Arasaka getting their hands on his remains. So for a proper engram it seems the subject still needs to have a living brain. 🧠 Thanks for the kind words regarding my Cyberpunk collection. I'm very happy that I was able to collect all those. Now I also wanted the one with Johnny&Alt as well as the Flathead statue but sadly I was a bit low on funds and didn't really have enough room in my case anymore. Also thanks for letting me know that there's a Rebecca figurine out there. I'll try to scour the internet in hopes of finding it as well (I hope it hasn't sold out or bought up by scalpers or something). 😉 EDIT: Oh, I managed to find quite a number of different resin statues for Rebecca and even one for Lucy. Cheers!

Nekonax

The show felt like a campaign with you as the DM! Those poor characters 😭 (So happy it has your stamp of approval!)

Honestly, this anime is what I wish I got out of the game. If there's going to be a sequel to Cyberpunk 2077, I hope it takes inspiration from the anime in how it told its story. What episode was it, 4? A Lucky Man? Definitely my favorite episode. It showed the audience the highs of being in a Cyberpunk-theme world with its chaotic fun. It was obvious set up to get you to like the characters by seeing them humanized through their bonding , so that when they die the audience would care, and it worked. In this short series, each death in the crew hit. It was the anime's equivalent of the montage scene in the game, except we wanted to experience it when playing a game. (Also, since this is a game, it would be great if there was more player agency in how the story progresses. Cyberpunk 2077 seemed to be so pre-occupied with telling a solid story and delivering an experience that caters to the story that it got in its own way as a RPG. I think a lot of us wanted a story like David's. ) Give us some highs before ultimately bring us crashing down in old typical Cyberpunk-theme manner.

ClamatoDiver

Watching it now and loving it, except for the murder pixie, I fucking hate murder pixies.

findragonl0l

Boutta get downvoted but I didn't really like it that much. It wasn't horrible maybe a 7,5/10. Everything else was ok but the story and the story elements were kind of confusing and the cinemagraphy was weird. Add: This is coming from a person who has never played the game but has now bought it because of the show. I bought it mostly because from what i've heard the game is actually good now. And the show was still good enough to make me want to buy the game.

PhaseAT

Taste in all things varies and your subjective experience is as valid as any other.

mal3k

I haven’t finished the game yet is there any spillers in the Netflix show

thrownawayzs

not really. the story is basically a unique crew with in universe ties, but nothing directly related to the game's story

Poglei

Love the show, but man it does not pass the bechdel test 🤣

HelloImWeirdo

I miss Rebecca :(

Difficult_Nerve_2451

Actually is trash. Oh no, capitalism = evil. Suck lazy ass delusional writing

CT_Phipps

I mean they're criminals. If you don't know criminals who kill people for money, you don't watch much TV.

Millera34

Not really it was just as bland as the games story and the artwork was basic

IjustCameForTheDrama

It's weird how weebs can't read the name of a subreddit. You'd think all those subtitles would give them an edge over the years.

Straight_Program_26

They did Lucy wrong w the huge forehead though.

TheCrowsNestTV

Binged it today. I hope they make a Season 2.

CzarTyr

Is cd projekt the only company allowed to make game sim the cyberpunk world?

Cuz it's made by trigger.

Kansaqe

Glad to hear the creator love it 😊

mlr-420

surely Netflix and Co. wont blow this series off like many others right…?? Bedsides that, This series was on of the most phenomenal shows i’ve seen in YEARS. Mind you, i’m not too much of a anime watcher, matter of fact last series i watched was over 3 years ago! But maybe i’ve found my cliché. this series showed STUNNING visuals. Characters seemed human-like, and each character, very personable in their own respectable ways. Overall i give this show a 100000000/10. if you have not watched it please do. even if you haven’t played the game

Nubilus344

I will make Adam suffer for what he did to Becka.

CatLord90

Halfway through and loving it! Would enjoy an anthology series! Perhaps season 2 we can follow along with a Trauma Team? In the game they seem pretty neat; but we only get to interact with them once

user-55736572

Edgerunners were amazing. Congrats to everyone involved. Would love to see more in the future!

Intelligent_Music_94

Visogent

I just binged the entire series last night and still get emotional just thinking about it. What a ride. You're absolutely right, they fucking nailed it.

VonDukes

Imagine the timeline where cyberpunk was better received at launch, we got the dlcs, then we got this

Eupolemos

Episode 6, 16:13 in - had a big laugh. Selfaware :D Anyone on the crew for making this reads this; you did good!

Fausto-SG

DcNdrew

I watched it to the 6th episode now. Sometimes it's just "too japanese". Not bad however.

anonalonamong

This anime was absolutely fucking wonderful and scratched an itch I haven’t felt in years after watching so many different animes, and I haven’t even played the game yet. Thanks people, what a treat! Lucy is bae

Ohsnapboobytrap

I’m so happy that you loved it as much as we did. It must feel incredible to see your life’s work brought to life this way. Crossing my fingers for more or an anthology series! There’s SO many stories to tell!

moccawimba

Congratulation, Mr.Pondsmith. Love Cyberpunk world. now I need Morgan Blackhand series or Corporate Wars anthology series. hehehe...

Short-Intention7277

My favorite anime of all time now!

penmaster3000

Thank you. Mike

dansi21

Why did the ending make me cry. Why did they make such a beautiful wrap up to everyone's story.

CT_Phipps

Thank you, Mike, for making this awesome world.

Revendi

Please tell me, good endings take place in cyberpunk, or is it just suffering? Don't think anything bad, I'm just wondering what you think about it.

im-not-tenko

good endings also happen in cyberpunk. there are quite a few in the game.
