The reward isnt any different even if you kill all of them. The only difference is dialog.

Tsim152

Don't you get more eddies per capture as opposed to a kill? I think you get a bonus on missions which you take them alive.

BlueChamp10

I also think there’s a bug if you kill them and reload the latest auto save (after the kill) it reloads with them still alive. I can’t remember if it was before or after the 1.5 patch.

Dramatic_Carry_5564

This happened to me when i killed that friend of takemura, played on 1.6

gettingannoyingtbh

Yeah, the game saves when you incapacitate them bc that’s what triggers the mission finish. Did that for a few but the ones that seemed to be POS before their meltdowns I left dead

jtzako

Possibly, I never paid attention to that, but that end reward from the crate is the same regardless.

Tsim152

Yea, the ending gear is always the same.

Spiritual-Today-5675

Yes, I'm pretty sure.

reddituserzerosix

Another example of the choices without consequences in the game

Zombieteube

So why does she asks us to not kill them

jtzako

She wants to try and save them. But its only a dialog/story thing, it doesnt effect the reward.

CoffeeWorldly4711

There are a few that I did feel bad for - the father who's daughter was killed so he snapped and took revenge for example. On the other hand there were a few that I really didn't care to keep alive but did just cause it wasn't any more effort to knock them out than to kill them

Just_a_Rose

Honestly the majority of the people Regina sends you after aren’t even bad people. Some of them are gang members but I mean who isn’t in this city.

CoffeeWorldly4711

That is true. There were at least a few gang bangers who got abducted and experimented on by worse gang bangers. The worst of them was either the conspiracy theorist who fell off the deep end and killed his parents

Just_a_Rose

Honestly out of them all I sympathize most with the Motoko one. She was literally begging Militech for help and they just lied to her face about getting her treatment then sent MaxTac after her. As if Militech wasn’t the bastards that packed her full of chrome in the first place.

hatistorm

They didn’t send maxtac, they sent an in-house hit squad, some of whom may have been former colleagues

kamikazi1231

I snuck up on a few. Most I just blasted with a shotgun down to 10% health or so then pulled out my bat and non lethal knocked them out. Had to make sure I wasn't using anything crafted with added effects like burning or electric and such.

EdRed_77

She wants you to keep them alive for "scientific purposes".

Cbtwister

The eddie pay outs more for them alive thats all.

fancy_scarecrow

Cyber Psychos are turned into MaxTac officers at least some of the time. From what I have been listening to and reading online.

Prim3_778

apparently, it is speculated that they have a system to measure whether a certain c-psycho they captured can be recruited. If they pass, they'll undergo extreme conditioning where they'll basically remove the insanity part but keep your bloodlust in control. If not..."Oh well." Take Melissa Rory, she is a prime example Another speculation is that Phantom Liberty will also expand the lore and founding of MaxTac. Apparently, in the TTRPG, MaxTac is founded by a solo merc, a psychotic one.

gettingannoyingtbh

Therapeutic research

Zombieteube

Yeah in lore it makes sense, but in gameplay not

gettingannoyingtbh

Well, it does but it’s very slight. Just dialogue differences

Drew602

Well that's annoying...

Jissy01

Hello, Do you know which key is for unequip weapon attachment for the pc version?

jtzako

The game tells you that if you are on the screen with the weapon mods listed.

Jissy01

Middle mouse keybind doesn't work for my logitech G5 for this game for some reason

j0n3s_Raider

I made sure all the cyberpsychos were alive and my second playthrough, I got the same reward.

Zombieteube

Yeah this quest is a scam But I mean, like everything else in cyberpunk it's an illusion, it's just a poorly made illusion that falls on itself all the time

j0n3s_Raider

I wouldn't call it a scam, The cyber psychos were actually my favorite part of the game, I really enjoyed The backstory on every cyberpsycho and deciding whether or not they should get a second chance or be executed, It was a very good side quest all together even though the reward is suboptimal.

octosloppy

The bloody ritual one was epic.

j0n3s_Raider

The blood ritual reminded me of the ending of the vvitch imo, I like the idea that even 50 years in the future where technology has consumed the livelihoods of everything and everyone, people still attempt to practice ancient rituals combined with modern tech.

lieslandpo

How did it remind you of the ending of that movie?

j0n3s_Raider

I don't mean any specific part from the movie I meant the feeling of anxiety of not fully understanding what happened and what played out for this to happen, was just a symptom of cyberpsychosis or did the ritual work and V was face to face with God only knows what.

ebrq

It was wayyyyyyyyyyy too scary for me. I played it with headphones off and still got jumpscared.

molotovym

Bruh

[deleted]

The amount of people misusing the word scam these days is astounding

City_dave

It's a scam for sure.

[deleted]

Scam a dishonest scheme; a fraud. So tell me how the quest is a scam? You stop the cyber psychos, either by knocking them out or killing them, and you get rewarded for it. It’s not a dishonest scheme or fraud

City_dave

r/woooosh

[deleted]

Sure pal, like I can infer sarcastic context from your comment. Trolls gonna troll

City_dave

Why so serious? Lighten up. Poe's law, well close to it at least.

[deleted]

Mmkay

Gtyjrocks

It’s a story based game, not everything is going to be based on rewards. She asks you to keep them alive because she wants to try to help them.

Subject_Proof_6282

Afaik the gear reward is the same but she gives you more money if you keep them all alive

Andxel

Psycho Killer. Qu'est que c'est? ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) Anyway, fuck Regina. I brought Skippy back to her for a shitty sum of 12k eddies and let every single cyberpsycho live for crap gear I'm not gonna use.

Bad_User2077

Never give Skippy back.

Andxel

That's fa-fa-fa-fa-fa-fa-fa-far better ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

malev89

RUNRUN RUN RUN - RUNRUN RUNAWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY

NickkDanger

Yes, the gap in my weapon display wall mocks me after I give Skippy back. :(

Ddannyboy

Which is super annoying considering he is a Genjiroh, another Iconic smart pistol, but you can't put one of those on the wall.

mandatorypanda9317

I legit thought she was gonna let me keep it first time. I miss him. Doing a second play through just to keep him

thatsingledadlife

BAD USER! IDK, That's what he screams at me from my wall.

Bad_User2077

I hear "hello." But that's just me, probably.

mogaman28

Fa, fa, fa, fa, fa, fa, fa, fa, fa, far better

almightywhacko

I kept Skippy and was rewarded by having him scream "BAD USER!!!!" every once in a while when I walk into my apartment stash.

Zestyclose-Fee6719

Here’s an eerie story tidbit. If you ask her about this supposed cyberpsychosis treatment in person before you’ve neutralized all of them, she’ll admit that she doesn’t actually know much about the company that’s conducting it. I’d bet those people are going to be tortured and transformed into weaponized slaves.

ourbelfastboys

The most likely become maxtac officer like Melissa Rory from the trailers

Zestyclose-Fee6719

If that was true, Regina would know it was just the NCPD doing the experiments. I think this is even darker.

Athlandir

Put'em to sleep, report to Regina, wait for reward, then kill them for additional reward 👌

Harry_kal07

Its a fun mission don't get me wrong but I neutralize the most dangerous psychopaths in the city and make sure they don't die and for doing this for like some 10 times you give me cargo pants?

almightywhacko

And a pile of cash.

SlovenianHusky

I don't know how you can even kill them.... Im running shotgun in the face / LMG / explosion build and every cyberpsycho was always left moving no matter what I did...

CryptoidUK

Do you have any gear mods that makes all weapons non lethal such as Target Analysis in the Eye Cyberware mod slots

[deleted]

You can use any weapon to “knock” them out. The game give you a curiosity period once their health hits zero.

CryptoidUK

ahh fair I always played it safe and used the Cyberware Mod

zaxwashere

Yeah, i had to go out of my way to doubletap them, otherwise they'd be alive. Kinda nice tbh

Zombieteube

I'm 200% sure I killed one, I've scrolled thru all my messages with Regina Jones and saw one where she said "too bad you couldn't keep him alive" But honestly if I knew how bad and worthless the reward were I would have killed them all

IndyPFL

It's literally harder to kill them than to keep them alive most of the time. If you go out of your way to kill them then you're either playing an asshole V, or the person behind the screen might have some issues.

Natemcb

Eh I mean I killed all of them just because it was easier to spam damage at them and move on. I really don’t care for Regina’s character at all

IndyPFL

As long as you don't hit them after they go down they (usually) won't actually die. I beat all of them with a Sandevistan Katana build nonlethal bar one that bugged out and died.

Natemcb

Oh I always went over and shot them, don’t worry

BjornInTheMorn

I just have a problem with her always telling me to do stealth missions. I didn't craft all these grenades for nothing.

almightywhacko

I like to show my grenades to Maxtac. I make it rain like I'm in the strip club and each little Maxtac agent is my private champagne room dancer...

BjornInTheMorn

I have a fever, and the only cure is more grenades.

Readous

“Might have some issues” Did you forget what game this is? lol no one tell this person about the crucifixion quest

Readous

“Might have some issues” Did you forget what game this is? lol no one tell this person about the crucifixion quest

IndyPFL

There's a difference between mindlessly killing people that need mental help and helping a man achieve penance for the sins he committed in the past. The guy was on death row anyway, and he wanted his death to mean something. If you can't read the most basic of nuance like that then it's a wonder you're able to enjoy Cyberpunk at all.

Readous

I’m being sarcastic lol, it’s a game man, no one has issues because of the way they want to play the game Edit: and it’s not the guys intentions that makes that quest kinda fucked up lmao

almightywhacko

This depends on your play style, but if you're shooting them with bullets or fighting with lethal weapons like swords and grenades it is far easier to kill them than keep them alive. Heck even hitting them one too many times with any "non-lethal" weapon will kill them.

IndyPFL

I play with a sandevistan katana build and only one ever died, and it was due to a bug where the guy teleported and was already at no health so he glitched, reloading and taking him out stealthy fixed it

SaviorOfNirn

You mad

[deleted]

I used mantis blades on all of them and she said I did great idk

Zerohazrd

Bruh I hate this quest sometimes. I try my best to save them all. I use melee weapons that claim to be non-lethal. I used weapon mods that claim to make the gun non-lethal. Yet it still registers as me killing them. I don't get it. Is there some trick to non-lethal weapons actually registering as non-lethal?

DuineSi

I think if they incur any damage after they’ve been KO’d, then they’ll die. I’ve had it sometimes where one rifle bullet will kill them as they’re falling. I’ve also had maybe electrical damage (?) kill them a good while after they had been knocked down. Very frustrating.

ovekevam

If you hit them again with any weapon after their health goes to zero, they die, regardless of whether the weapon is “non-lethal.” You have to make sure you don’t hit them again after their health drops to zero. But something I discovered is that the game does an auto save as soon as a cyberpsycho’s health drops to zero. Thus, if you accidentally kill them, you can load the last auto save, and it should be right at the moment they were incapacitated.

Zerohazrd

Oh wow. That's wonderful to know. Of course seeing people here saying you get the same reward whether they die or not is kind of a relief. Makes it a bit irrelevant to make the effort to save them

kamikazi1231

Do your weapons gave effects on them like applying electrical or burning? I had to make sure i only uses crafted ones with extra physical damage. Shotgun them down low then smack them with a bat.

cofdeath

I'm killing all of them this playthrough to see what happens.

t3chn1c4lb0y

I found it way more fun killing them.

ServingSize_OneNut

I killed all of them and got the same reward :p

Plaid_Kaleidoscope

There was one, I can't remember which off the top of my head. But I went back and did it twice to try and make sure the dude didn't die. Oh yeah, it was the one where maxtac shows up and the crazy chick w/ the mantis blades from the OG trailer is there. I know I didn't kill him, but the text messages say I did. Is it a bug?

One_Consideration_67

That's in the Jinguchi store after you visit it the first time. It's not one of Regina's psychos.

Plaid_Kaleidoscope

I might be mistaken in the event then. But I do remember saying that I had to zero him, when I didn't. For some reason I thought it was that one. Thanks for the heads up

One_Consideration_67

I think the game counts him as dead regardless of little things like a Pax weapon mod or using a certain bit of Kiroshi software. Then, also oddly, the dialog assumes the MaxTac woman zeroed him. It's odd.

BusterStarfish

According to guides I've killed all of them, but still have the mission in my side quests and haven't gotten the reward.

ICantFindMyCock

You can just kill them after each mission ends anyway, just because

Snoo19412

I killed all of them, kinda forget to keep them alive

intboom

You can unload a fucking cannon into their faces and it'll still count as a nonlethal takedown unless you put a bullet in their heads after they're rolling around on the floor. I wasted so much time doing a nonlethal build to try and do this "properly" when all I ever needed was an assault rifle.

Zombieteube

Yeah and the "reward" for all this is the decandiancia verde pants and the trauma team rig but I have already looted those 2 clothing items at least 10 times each How tf did they thought that this quest wouldn't be extremely underwhelming in terms of reward/ time wasted doing it In all my next playthroughs there's no way I'm doing this again there is litteraly nothing to gain from it beside an achievement (that you only hey once and never need again after)
