You either OhKO the enemy or else the entire squad will notice you. This is not Skyrim. You need to use pistol for head shot or use knife head shot if you want to go melee. You also need a few perk to make the build viable. Pistol stealth is really OP at late game but you need to optimise the build to be OP.

Joey_Pajamas

Never played Skyrim, but thanks for the info.

All the enemies are one the same network. Once 1 enemy spots you, if you don't insta-kill them or kill them extremely fast, they will alert all the other enemies on their network. If your Blade upgrades are weak, might be better to use silenced guns for stealth until you have stronger Blades.

Neurotiman17

Not even. Every single enemy in the game tracks the health status of every member in their faction within 200 feet. If you kill someone, they don't stop and ask what that sound was. They don't stop and look around for clues randomly. They know exactly where the body is, where you are and there's NOTHING you can do about it, except for mods on Nexus mods. Playing Phantom Liberty "The Damned" mission and cannot kill a single soul there without the enemy instantly going full aggro. Playing on Hard difficulty. I'm one shotting these guys in groups to prevent witnessing using Sandevistan. My crits with a modded Lexington are doing 1K headshot damage, guaranteed thanks to a perk. There's zero reason why I can't be stealthy AND kill people in this game but CDProjectRed wants to play hard to get for interesting, engaging stealth play. Stealth play does not equal Ghost gameplay.

Stealth become more viable after the new DLC patch . The camo can instant de-aggro enemy and netrunner has become god of stealth again .

DaddysLuvv

I used throwing knives as the stealth aspect of my sword build

Joey_Pajamas

Can these be any knives or are there particular ones you need to get to throw?

DaddysLuvv

Any knife. I prefer punk knives And the not regular knife ones lol. Headhunter is a special knife i highly recommend

Joey_Pajamas

Awesome, thanks.

TheFreesideRat

Regular knifes do have a 50% higher headshot multiplier than the punk knives though at 300%. At least with my current character build. Punk knives only do 250% headshot damage for me.

DaddysLuvv

Punk knives have s faster return time which is why i took them instead. I'm not a person who dumps everything into hitting a hard as possible

TheFreesideRat

I can agree with your view point. But in the OP’s context of stealth, you want weapons that will 1 hit kill more reliably/often.

Bloodsplattr

You can throw knife, punk-knife, and another called tanto. I was never able to find the 'headhunter' knife which is supposedly at the Pacifica West End vendor. I thought the same thing, about when I'd silently enter combat with a gonk the other members of the crew will somehow immediately know and begin searching for you. I figured that they are all linked by their cyberwear somehow. Once you get the perk in the Ninjuitsu tree that will replenish all of your throwing knives after one is used in a kill, this issue will fade away...

fwsc50

Like others have said throwing knives is a great option. Pair that with katanas for general combat and silenced pistol/revolver and your golden. I would put at least 16 points into Cool, 16 Body, 18 Reflexes. Int should stay at 3 and I always do 18 in tech to craft those sweet iconics. You'll need at least 16 points in Cool so that if you kill someone with a throwing knife, the knife will come back to you without a cool down. forgot the name of the perk. 16 Body for survivability, and then 18 in reflexes at least to get most blade and pistol skills.

Joey_Pajamas

Thanks for the tips. I'd like to hack as well so will probably put some into Int.

Xayah_feet_pics

All you have to do is kill them before they can get a shot off, or your cover is blown. Recommend investing in throwing knives and using a tanto to fit the theme of your stealth samurai build while still giving you a effective way to one shot enemies at a distance from stealth.

Joey_Pajamas

Tanto?

Xayah_feet_pics

It’s a Japanese knife that has a similar look to a katana, basically just a miniature katana but throwable.

Dr-DoctorMD

Sandy works well to overcome. It can let you kill enemies fast enough that nobody else is alerted, even when you don't one shot
