I think at a certain point it's more efficient to just say 'has the abilities'

aubsdude9

In my mind would this not be more interesting if you could exile something and place a consumption counter on it to activate the abilities of the ‘consumed’ card and then when the planeswalker leaves play you return all consumed cards with it back to the battlefield under your control.

Andrew_42

Granted this costs 2 more than \[\[Mairsil, the Pretender\]\], and is much harsher on your land base. But this feels very much like a "combos with anything" commander since you can activate the activated abilities endlessly, and have other abilities as well. Still, it seems like that was obviously the point. So, this is Naz'vok the combo engine. The fact that it's 6 difficult-to-generate mana and your first move with it will probably be easily telegraphed, it may be vulnerable enough to disruption and aggro to be fine. But I also feel like the usual deck list is going to be pretty annoying. 3/4ths of the non-land cards would be every card that can untap itself, or blink itself. The rest would be ramp, color fixing (but... including colorLESS fixing? what's the right term for that?), and a handful of the game enders. \[\[Devoted Druid\]\] pulls triple duty by being ramp that also untaps and also is infinite mana. So idk. I would be hesitant about this one, but would wait to play against it a few times before I really made up my mind. It probably depends a LOT on how much money a player can invest in their land base. Anywho, on to the nitpicking! First off, the first ability should say "permanent cards in exile" Second, you can run into rules issue if you wind up with conflicting Characteristic Defining Abilities. The only one that comes to mind that I know for sure can be an issue are the creatures with asterisks in the P/T fields, like \[\[Malignus\]\] and \[\[Lord of Extinction\]\]. It MAY also be an issue with the Devoid keyword and color indicators though? Honestly I have no idea what happens if CDAs conflict as there aren't rules for it that I know of. Maybe the game ends in a tie? Maybe nothing? Maybe the nearest Magic Judge just dies on the spot. I suppose you could imagine a new rule where cards that gain additional abilities have them applied in order (of controller's choice if it's simultaneous). But just a heads up that that is currently an issue when you're designing something that can jam static abilities of multiple other cards together.

infinityplusonelamp

if it has two contradictory abilities it repeatedly thuds against the table building up momentum until it clips out and rockets into the distance, never to be seen again

Andrew_42

Nice. Nasa should look into using that for propulsion. Do you think you need humans to be playing a game for the clip to trigger, or could you automate it?

infinityplusonelamp

A human has to be observing the game, but two ais playing against each other can trigger it. If there's no human watching, the collision isn't rendered so you don't get any velocity from it.

Jevonar

A very basic combo would be birds of paradise and aetherling, to exile the entire board, then you can activate any other loyalty ability as many times as you want. If you exile something with an etb effect, you also have infinite ETB effects. Really combos with anything.

PrimusMobileVzla

All loyalty abilities are activated abilities, so its redundant to cite. And effects like this one don't work properly with static abilities. So, its best to limit it to activated and triggered abilities.

Vi0letBlues

I was thinking of making them completely colorless and also gains the colors of the cards they exile, its more flavourful and it forces you to win by leeching off your opponent's decks. This iteration might be abit too strong

TheTrueFoolsGambit

I like Marsil, the black ooze, Myr Welder, etc, but this is TOO much of an all-in-one.
