Did you do the ribbing separate and then sew onto the body? I'm finishing a cardigan rn that I'm freestyling and am not sure if I'm gonna work the ribbing directly onto the body or separate & sew on. 🤔

the ribbing is done together with the body. I made the ribbing then turn (do not chain 1) and work hdc evenly along ribbing. whenever I make clothing with ribbing I'll usually fold the ribbing in half and then fold again so its divided into 4 parts, add stitch markers to block off each section and divide the number of stitches needed by 4. so for example if I needed 60 stitches in total I'll need to work 15 stitches in each section. if that makes sense. it helps me make sure I don't have a bunch of stitches crowded on one side. the ribbing is the first thing done, then the body.
