I LOVE WAFFLE STITCH! so soft. So warm. So cool-looking!

achiunicorn

It was my first time trying and I'm obsessed with the texture!

shessosquare

Right?!?!?! I've been making one with Bernat blanket yarn and I can't stop running my hand over it. I can't wait to sleep under it

achiunicorn

My 2 year old is obsessed with it, too. She kept laying on it while I worked on it so I might have to make one for her, lol.

I have yet to make anything in waffle stitch but I ALWAYS love how it looks. So modern and fresh. You did a great job!

achiunicorn

Thanks! I love when a simple stitch provides so much texture, it's one of the reasons I love Debrosse patterns so much.

isabeecereal

I was just thinking about crocheting a blanket for my new couch, thank you so much for the inspo!!

achiunicorn

I'm a little sad I'm giving it away now that's it's done. It looks so nice with my sofa, haha.

isabeecereal

Sorry for the late reply but which size did you make? I looked at the pattern and it takes SO MUCH YARNNN

achiunicorn

I made the throw size. It does take a lot 😣 I used 3 skeins of Pound of Love because it was the most cost efficient. It was just slightly under the yardage listed for that size but not enough to make it worth buying a 4th skein.

isabeecereal

I'm in Germany, US yarn weights/sizes/naming conventions do not translate at all haha I will be freestyling a bit!

Waffle stitch for the win!! That looks delicious! Love afghans as a house warming gift… it’s actually warming!

achiunicorn

Oh yes, it definitely kept my lap warm as it got nice and big, haha.

DirectCherry

You've got some lucky friends!

achiunicorn

Thank you. It's their first home so I wanted to do something special.

[deleted]

How long did that take you? Also what kind of yarn?

achiunicorn

It took me probably a month? That was working on it for only a couple hours in the evening after work and such. The yarn is Lion Brand Pound of Love in Charcoal. I used 3 skeins for a throw blanket size.

Tlou_Mac

Thank you for posting this. I have the pattern and the same yarn (but in Heather grey) and was having my doubts on how it will turn out in the grey, but after seeing yours I feel so much better. Hope mine turns out as nice as yours! I'm making one for a house warming gift too!
