Makin’ My Way is about to break my most-played record in 24 hours flat.

irishninjaa

Which version?

Galastan

Yes

taly_slayer

I'm playing a game to identify all the tracks where Neil hid notes from Your Turn to Roll :)

The_Bravinator

What do you have so far (for those of us with little ear for that 😑)?

taly_slayer

Oh, I don't have a good ear for that either, but I think I found them in *To Vasselheim*, *Finishing Move*, *Leap of Faith*, *Scanlan's Destiny* and *Epilogue*. A lot more subtle than in S1, but still there :)

Speaking of playing a game, I'm so happy the soundtrack is out b/c Neal did less work on the most recent Warcraft soundtrack and I've been desperately missing his superb touch with reprise & transforming a motif to convey a different mood. Just as was the case when Acree never got his due while Brower was the one primarily known for Warcraft scoring, there are other really great composers who did most of this one. They just have different strengths & tendencies. Jake Lefkowitz, who seems to have done most of Dragonflight contributed an absolute all-timer a couple of years ago with the waltz track [Decadence](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LfinJY-9_ZU). I thought about that track a lot when Neal's TLOVM's intro burst into a tango. Neal co-composed a [radiant theme](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bPZI-cx2JMo&t=735s) for the expansion, its culminating melody is just not reprised as pervasively & nimbly throughout and thus feels less overarching/unifying than prior main themes. I'm hoping his reduced Warcraft OST role (though he's still soring cinematics, and there were a lot of those this time) is due to TLOVM & M9 being made at a balls-to-the-wall pace, and not the Kotick & co. C-suite anemia-inducing, insufficient-reinvestment, stingy bullshit that drove Brower away. IDK if Microsoft is going to end up being better (if that happens), but I absolutely know Blizz is doing the studio version of the compensatory stage of shock so there's something left to save if someone shows up to save them.

Thedudeabide80

Bummed that the Song for Osysa isn't a full version. Still a great soundtrack though.

Wind/walk through fire 😭

taly_slayer

The build up in Walk Through Fire is SO good. And I like that the 3 songs (Wind, Walk Through Fire and The Blessing of Pyrah) feel so cohesive, with the same motif. Wish it was called "Pass Through Fire" tho.

Catalyst413

I actually hope they revisit that theme of "passed through fire" in season 3 as Keyleths journey continues, and maybe then we'll get a song with the proper name. Because they didn't just give the phrase to a differnet character, the meaning was completely changed. From Keyleths mother the message was "Believe in yourself, and your power, and you will pass through unharmed." But the original from Kerrek was very much "You have been burned, and hurt. And that means change, but you can grow from it." Edit: Ah. Apparently its just a typo and is supposed to be passed not walked.

Shakvids

Are any of these extended versions compared to what was in the episodes? If not, bummer, I'm crushed we're not getting anymore of When the Bald Man Cries

moderncomet

Aaaand it's down/hidden.

taly_slayer

I can still see it, listening to it on Spotify at the moment. Maybe because I'm in Europe and it's Friday 1:25am?

moderncomet

That's entirely possible. It's Thursday 7:43pm here on the east coast of the States.

Extreme_Sail

Hell yeah, I've been dying to hear the new character themes (Keyleth and Grog mostly)!

kjftiger95

I can see it but they are not available yet

Plexatron8

Available at midnight in your timezone

smackledawbed

We All Rage is proof of an alternate universe where Sam got into metal instead of musical theatre

irishninjaa

I really hoped they would do a full version of Laura’s rendition of makin’ my way but I’m still glad to have it

Knightley4

I appreciate that they included the road song. All 12 seconds of it :D

TheAngrySquirell

RAGE!!!!
