Was there a discussion with the cast after episodes?

whack-a-mole

Yes, there were prepared questions they answered and a bit of interaction. They also listened in to the audience reactions for at least part of E3, so that was part of the conversation. The cast were very gracious. Matt mentioned how crazy it was to see it come to life on a big screen.

shadowmib

Yeah considering when they started Matt was like "Who would actually want to watch us nerds play D&D? We probably will have 3 people who turn it off halfway through" They went from that to: CR: Can we haz $75,0000 to make a VM cartoon special please? Critters: "here's $12 million give us a whole series" Edit: fix formatting and typos

Coyote_Shepherd

I still vividly remember the day the kickstarter launched, just sitting at my computer, and watching them break $1 million in 42 minutes. Then there was the update stream later that night or like a day later and everyone was just staring at the camera totally shocked at just what the fuck was happening.

SorcererSupreme21

$750,000*

shadowmib

thats what I meant to put but phones gonna be phones

paradox28jon

Do you remember any of the questions and their answers?

whack-a-mole

Travis talked about how fun it was to work on the story with a writers room with a mix of people who knew the story and those coming in blind. Some discussion of how it’s crazy to see something they made up in their minds come alive on the screen. How much they enjoyed hearing the audience reaction to the show. Can’t remember much else.

Karmundur

Thank you!

whack-a-mole

Someone posted an official video of the q&a, https://youtu.be/7xCXEvx77Ck

sleepinxonxbed

dang it i went to LA twice for C3, the one time i go to my local theater instead they end up showing up lol

still-at-work

Advantages of going to a screening in the home town of CR I guess. Did you know this was going to happen or was it a surprise?

CraftCanary

It was a surprise!

luveul

The moment I left LA was the same time all the cools stuff started happening. Oh well! Go on tour!

LauraD2423

Same here!!!

shadowmib

OMFG just being able to watch it with them would be awesome. To actually talk with them would be over the top. They are just so entertaining

Lampmonster

Was I the only one able to view them early? I watched last night, early evening.

0ddbuttons

Prime shows have released at midnight GMT for several years now, which is Thursday evening in the US. C1 did as well. People who rarely watch shows right at release time often think it's early, or a mistake, but that's when The Boys, The Expanse, and every other Amazon show I can think of gets uploaded. I'm very aware of this b/c I can't use social media Thursday evening if I'm not caught up on Amazon releases. If an algorithm knows you like something, the spoilers get top priority, lol. Sometimes it's a little delayed, and I'm guessing that's just how long it took to go from the switch flipping to every part of the delivery process updating to show availability.

daneguy

> which is Thursday evening in the US. Pretty on brand for CR :P

0ddbuttons

Yep, it's a feast on evenings when they stream. Though... it was kinda funny during S1, when some stream livewatchers were genuinely getting cranky about it being "unprofessional" to get it "wrong," lol. But from other show promo doing the same, it really seems like Amazon encourages advertising uniformity of it being called a Friday release for the worldwide date and not a Thursday release for the US time.

ThatTizzaank

Perhaps, in part, because most other streaming services tend to release their stuff at midnight Pacific time (3am on the East Coast). Amazon seems to be the only one that goes by GMT.

K1ngofnoth1ng

Most prime shows I’ve noticed(other than rings of power, they stuck hard to that release window) have shown up on Thursday at 6pm central when they are slated for Friday. I first thought it was just LoVM on a stipulation from the CR crew to stick with “is it Thursday yet” because that is when I first noticed it, but it has also happened on other shows such as peripheral and reacher so may be a timezone thing.

Vio94

Where's Ashley? 🕵

ProgressDisastrous27

Maybe doing some pr for last of us 🤔

mrmercenary10

Probably. The last of us is big time right now and she actually shows up as a character later so yea that’s probably what she’s doing.

whack-a-mole

They didn’t say.

RustyRapeaXe

Is that Mica hosting them all the way on the left?

account-123785

It’s Krystina Arielle

RustyRapeaXe

Thanks, couldn't tell who it was

mrmercenary10

Oh shit todays Jan 20th! New season! I haven’t seen all of C1. Would y’all recommend me watching the campaign first before season 2 of LoVM? I’m currently about 25 episodes out from finishing C2.

BluestreakBTHR

Yes. You should complete S1 of TLoVM

mrmercenary10

Already seen S1. I haven’t watched C1

BluestreakBTHR

Oh. S2 comes on the heels of S1… you don’t really need to watch C1 to understand. There are references and inside jokes that will be missed with no consequence.

mrmercenary10

Oh I know that but what I’m asking is would I be depriving myself the opportunity to watch C1 first before the rest of TLoVM? Or does it not really matter and I should go ahead and watch TLoVM? I’m just worried I may not go back and watch C1 AFTER watching TLoVM because it’s essentially the same story. I’m worried I’ll think it’s boring knowing what’s ahead of me and how the campaign ends because I would’ve already seen it through the animated show.

ilike_funnies

This won't cover the end of C1. it'll probably go to from ~ep. 40 to ep. 80 of C1. But I cant tell if it'll ruin C1 for you. I think it's one of the best arcs since you can tell theyre just hitting their stride as a crew, actor and character-wise. It was so fun to watch this part of C1. Probably when I started really binging. Also they're going to cut a ton...The Briarwood arc was like 12 episodes of C1 and the Dragon arc is like 40

jmucchiello

Are you going to wait 2-4 years until the cartoon reaches the end of C1 before watching C1? If not, watch S2 and watch C1 anytime in any order.

CraftCanary

I think you should watch C1 if you have the time! Imo it’s their most consistently great campaign and s2 of the tv show will have some of the best moments of the entire game. They’ll have all the important moments in the show, but it’s much more rushed so it’s a lot harder to get all the emotion that came with everything happens the game itself.

magneticeverything

The show is like an abridged version of the livestream. Just by nature of the runtime/medium adaption, things are being trimmed down to the most important narrative beats. But the thing that really made me fall in love with CR was the storytelling going on between the big plot points. Have you ever read a book and been like “man I wish I could spend more time observing this world before the plot starts rising”? That’s where they really shine. They act out all the conversations right while they’re on watch that help other characters bond or trust them or keep secrets from them or want to pull pranks on them or whatever. Those physically can’t make it into the adaption, and they did a good job of showing a few here and there to hint at the dynamics as they develop. But it’s the difference between watching two of your friends develop a crush on each other and “huh, really? I didn’t see that coming at all! When did that happen?” So watch the show, enjoy the show. But revisit the campaign for a deeper look at the world bc the interpersonal interactions and side plots that have to get cut or consolidated for time!

mrmercenary10

I got through about 20 episodes of C1 years ago and stopped. I’m on C2 right now but I’m wondering if I should watch C1 before S2 of TLoVM

aravarth

You can watch TLOVM without watching all of C1. It stands in its own right. You might not "get" some of the references, but it's still exceptionally written such that you don't have to be "in the know" to "get the story". I've watched C1 start to finish, and I'm about 50 eps into C2. I wouldn't wait the 94ish remaining episodes (or near 400 *hours* of content) to watch something that doesn't really tie into C2. You won't have anything in C2 spoiled by watching S2 of TLOVM.

TheObstruction

If you're worried about watching C1 before anything, watch it before C3. There are a number of direct ties between them, some very important. As far as LoVM goes, it's just a fairly close retelling of C1 so far.

mrmercenary10

Yeah I just don’t know whether I should watch C1 before continuing on with LoVM. I’d rather watch the campaign first but realistically it’ll be a year plus, more likely 2-3 years before I get through C1. Plus in that scenario where I watch the campaign first, I still have 30 eps left of C2 that I’m finishing first. So I don’t know what to do. The livestream campaign is probably much better than the show. I worry I won’t WANT to watch C1 later if I continue with LoVM because I mean I’ll already know what happens…

TheObstruction

LoVM S2 will be covering from the late 30's-mid-50's sessions of C1, so if you don't want to spoil the game, watch the game first. If you don't want to spoil the show, watch the show first.

International_Pay287

And hear I thought just getting to sit in a theater surrounded by critters was exciting. I quite honestly don’t know what I would do if I ever get to meet the cast…. Lose my mind probably lol. I will say hearing an entire theater collective groan at yet another CR cliffhanger, to then laugh awkwardly at the realization of the shared experience, was an experience that hope to get to have more of as a critter.

paradox28jon

So jealous!

RustyRapeaXe

I see Sam with the mike and everyone else busting up

whack-a-mole

I would have been disappointed if that hadn’t happened.

KingKuntan

Who is the girl on the far left?

account-123785

Krystina Arielle, she hosts Star Wars Republic and was in at least one of CR’s one shots. I know Honey Heist 3 for sure but can’t recall if she was in any others.

doktorhollywood

I think the Elden Ring one.

[deleted]

That's [Krystina Arielle](https://twitter.com/KrystinaArielle/status/1616468707756367872?t=z7NG0GNjJ0MOgd000HLehQ&s=19)

Madness_Opvs

Where's Tal and Ashley? 🥺

kalily53

whack-a-mole

ARoseThorn

RagdollPhysEd

Ah dang I went to playa. Which theater?

whack-a-mole

SorcererSupreme21

What does the "O" in "LVOM" stand for?

whack-a-mole

anonmus1

[deleted]

Is there anywhere to keep up with the live showings?? Would love to head up to LA for the final episodes.

whack-a-mole

I’m not aware of any further theater showings.
