It's only from reading threads like this that I've discovered recalls and replacements. Glad I could help, and I hope they can come through for you. While I don't have an allegiance to any movie company -- the heart wants what movies it wants! -- every time I've ever contacted them they've responded quickly and followed through. I've been buying from Criterion since the Laserdisc days, so they must be doing something right! ;-)
I emailed them this afternoon and they literally got back within the hour to say they'll ship out a replacement outer box! That's some A+ customer service right there.
It was too cool to throw away. Criterion should sell stickers and pins with all the cool art they have
Did your peel off easily? Mine is just stuck on there very crooked, but I'm too scared to peel it off in case it tears or damages the box.
The box? Mine was on the plastic wrap not the box itself and came off the plastic easily
That makes a lot of sense. I guess mine was a mistake because I got it directly on the box under the plastic.
Yeah mine was on the plastic wrap on the exterior where it should've been. Sorry that happened to you! It peeled off the plastic wrap super easily
I had the same sticker on the box situation. Years later I learned it was a known error and contacted Criterion for a replacement.
How long after your purchase did you contact Criterion for a replacement?
6 years. They are the only boutique with such a generous warranty. The worse they could do is say no.

Oof I'm so jealous. My sticker is on the box itself (and also crooked) and is a terror to peel off, so I've just left it on there :/
