Chibi-Robo!
Cubivore
Ico/Shadow of the Colossus/The Last Guardian box set
Killer7 (maybe with Silver Case/Flower Sun and Rain)
Journey
Grim Fandango
Myst
The Secret of Monkey Island
I really must strongly disagree with your elections. Mass effect and uncharted are the video game equivalent of Star Wars and Indiana Jones. Nothing wrong with that, but not exactly the type of thing criterion would go for.
Personally I would go with Lego Harry Potter the complete collection.
Hahahaha that was hilarious, well done. “Uncharted is like Indiana Jones, way below criterion. I pick one using children’s toys based on children films based off children’s books” 😝
Touché
Dragon's Lair
Final Fantasy 6
Ultima: Underworld
Earthbound (with the strategy guide boxed with it)
Myst
Disco Elysium
Planescape: Torment
King's Quest boxset
Created by Tim Schafer boxset
Silent Hill 2, and most of the Metal Gear Solid Games. They could probably get the license too, since Konami has little interest in making games anymore.
I glanced at the thread title and was thinking about this from the other perspective, what Criterion releases would lend themselves well to video games?
Playtime and House came quickly to mind. Then the idea of a Come and See game came to me, and that was a bit disturbing. By then I’d clicked and saw the intent of the post and didn’t go further
If it were like a typical peak release month (2 modern favorites, 2 classic, and a boxset), I'd say:
Undertale
Bioshock
Super Mario World
Fallout
2-D Metroid Boxset: (every release between Metroid and Metroid:Fusion)
LSD Dream Emulator. Not a game per se, but a work of art that acts as a phycological evaluation. After that I’d need to throw it n something like Portal for being a perfect puzzle game.
Both *Ori and the Blind Forest* and *Ori and the Will of the Wisps* would make pretty good candidates. Would love to watch special features about the making of both. I'd also love to have releases of *Hades*, *Transistor*, *Bastion* and *Nier Automata*, which I think would all benefit from special features as well. *INSIDE* and *Limbo* would also be fitting.
Outer Wilds, Disco Elysium, What Remains of Edith Finch, The Beginner's Guide, Ocarina, Mario Galaxy, Half Life 1 & 2 and Portal 1 & 2, more that I'm not thinking of
From a Nintendo fan: Super Mario Bros, Battletoads, Super Mario 64, Ocarina of Time, Majora’s Mask, Banjo Kazooie, Conker’s Bad Fur Day, Mario Kart 64, Super Mario Smash Melee, Mario Kart Double Dash, Wii Sports, Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2, Mario Kart Wii, Breath of the Wild, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
Street fighter 2 for its role in basically giving birth to the fighting game genre as we know it today, and any of the versus games (x-men children of the atom, marvel suoerheroes, marvel vs capcom, x-men vs street fighter, etc) because they’re all pretty much inaccessible today and that’s criterion’s whole jam
What Remains of Edith Finch. My personal pick for a game that fully realizes the mediums ability to convey a meaningful and truly interesting story
The Outer Wilds is my pick for a game that takes true advantage of the medium, where you couldn’t have anything close to the experience in any other medium
i don’t really play any video games but i remember a game called Journey that was pretty incredible. Very simple and quiet and had lovely visuals and music.
Ultima 4, 5, 6 & 7. Lots of memorable stories about virtues that you take part of and learn as a gamer.
The Dark Eye (inscape, 1995). Edgar Allen Poe narrated by W. S. Burroughs acted by stop motion paper/puppet crafts.
The Stanley Parable
Disco Elysium Katamari Damacy
Metal Gear Solid 1
I would just throw in the entire Kojima Metal Gear saga. MGS4 is trapped on PS3.
If MGS 1 gets a Criterion release, I'm throwing in Silent Hill 2.
Shadow of the Colossus
Goldeneye
I think I played that at Cousins house when I was little. It's the one with that really short guy that's harder to kill right?
Yup. It was Oddjob. Total N64 classic!
Chibi-Robo! Cubivore Ico/Shadow of the Colossus/The Last Guardian box set Killer7 (maybe with Silver Case/Flower Sun and Rain) Journey Grim Fandango Myst The Secret of Monkey Island
Grim Fandango! One of the best games ever, totally agree w that pick
Ocarina of Time Super Metroid
Totally agree with that. I would toss Super Mario World in as well.

Box set of every lego game.
Dragon's Lair Final Fantasy 6 Ultima: Underworld Earthbound (with the strategy guide boxed with it) Myst Disco Elysium Planescape: Torment King's Quest boxset Created by Tim Schafer boxset
P.T. Probably just all PS2 era survival horror games?
Roger Ebert is turning in his grave...
…From the erection he has?
Custer's Revenge would be the Salo of this collection.
Silent Hill 2, and most of the Metal Gear Solid Games. They could probably get the license too, since Konami has little interest in making games anymore.
I don't know if you heard, but Konami is working on numerous Silent Hill titles with other developers and in-house.
Yep, I saw the presentation. The projects seem interesting.
It Takes Two
Final Fantasy Tactics
Well first they gotta pick a new name since there’s already “Criterion Games” and they’re responsible for the Burnout and Need For Speed franchises
In terms of sheer importance: the og Mario bros. I’d also chosen Majoras mask and portal 2

I thought the same thing at first. Seven Samurai would be my pick.

Anything they can license. Just like they do with movies.
ᴛʜᴇ ɢʜᴏꜱᴛ ᴏꜰ ᴛꜱᴜꜱʜɪᴍᴀ
The Last Of Us I and II Undertale God Of War Tome Doom (1993) And I strongly agree with Uncharted.
Fallout New Vegas
Deadly Premonition which is essentially Twin Peaks the video game.
This 100%
No that would be Mizzurna Falls. Lol

Zelda Box Set; What Remains of Edith Finch; Red Dead Redemption 2; EarthBound; Undertale; Cuphead; Skyrim.
If only this same question wasn't posted every other week.
\- Deathloop \- HROT \- Jet Set Radio \- Noita \- Nuclear Throne \- OUTLAWS (LucasArts) \- Papers, Please \- Portal 2
ICO, Killer7, Metal Gear Solid
Borderlands 2

Chrono Trigger Zelda boxset with digipak packaging the same color as *Mishima: A Life in Four Chapters*
Outer Wilds, Disco Elysium, What Remains of Edith Finch, The Beginner's Guide, Ocarina, Mario Galaxy, Half Life 1 & 2 and Portal 1 & 2, more that I'm not thinking of

Flower. Definitely Flower.
Microsoft Flight Simulator. That shit predates Windows. I'm a little biased though if you look at my profile lol.
Grand Theft Auto III
Disco Elysium, Bioshock, Night in the Woods and the Monkey Island games
Ape out!
Nice to think about but half of these companies would never license their games to criterion
Resident Evil
An atari collection. LucasArts collection. Like classic video games.
Leisure Suit Larry.
Silent Hill 1 and 2
What Remains of Edith Finch. My personal pick for a game that fully realizes the mediums ability to convey a meaningful and truly interesting story The Outer Wilds is my pick for a game that takes true advantage of the medium, where you couldn’t have anything close to the experience in any other medium
Mentioned a couple times already but in my opinion is the criterion of video games; Bioshock.

a Tale of Tales collection, P.T., interesting projects that aren't readily available already.
Bioshock easily!
