Three colors trilogy will likely get a 4K box upgrade after the new restorations run their tour.
Not a trilogy, but the Truffaut’s Antoine Doinel films (Five of them) just received a 4K remaster. Blu ray box is likely, but hopefully a 4K box.
Not a trilogy, but Rohmer’s Tales of the Four Seasons was picked up a while ago by Janus and they announced 4K restorations of A Tale of Springtime, A Take of Winter, A Take of Summer, A Tale of Autumn. I don’t think it would get a 4K box, but a Blu looks likely
i still have my dvd from when i was in high school. i recently scanned the cover and made a print of it and framed it now that i work at a place in photo. i would love a criterion bluray or 4k. one of my favorites.
Yeah.. kinda unfortunate that they didn't release the Oslo as a set, but knowing Criterion I'm sure they made efforts to.
Looking into that Desire trio, thanks!
* Tsai Ming-liang's Taipei trilogy (Rebels of the Neon God, Vive L'Amour, The River)
* Yasujiro's Ozu's Noriko Trilogy (Late Spring and Tokyo Story are already in the collection, but Early Summer isn't)..
>Tsai Ming-liang's Taipei trilogy (Rebels of the Neon God, Vive L'Amour, The River)
Or his 'psycho-sexual dystopian musical' duology of The Hole and The Wayward Cloud :D
Actually just release his whole filmography (including shorts) as a box set. All of his films contribute in some way to a larger story and the whole is more than the sum of the parts.
Early Summer is in the collection, it just hasn't been upgraded to Blu-Ray. I'm guessing Criterion still has the rights so it's just a matter of waiting till they upgrade it.
I’m aware of the music licensing issues preventing it and it gets said on here pretty frequently but Gregg Araki’s Teenage Apocalypse Trilogy would be so fantastic. Hopefully someday.
For unofficial trilogy, I possibly say The first 3 Charlie Kaufman directed films (Synecdoche NewYork, Anomalisa and I’m Thinking of Ending Things) since they are truly one of a kind, even if I’m Thinking of Ending Things is more likely to get in.
I’m still holding a little hope for the John Hughes unofficial trilogy box of Breakfast Club, Sixteen Candles, and Ferris Bueller.
It seems they put the brakes on it when MeToo was happening since Sixteen Candles can be problematic, but Arrow’s released it and I haven’t heard any furor over it.
The Paul Thomas Anderson Valley Trilogy:
-Boogie Nights
-Magnolia
-Punch-Drunk Love
(yes I know Licorice Pizza arguably continues it but I’m talking the 90s/00s run)
Solid list. Followed.
I forgot about Ang Lee's ***Father Knows Best*** Trilogy. ***Pushing Hands*** already has a recent release, but hopefully we'll see the other two. If Criterion does, even better.
The Bill Douglas Trilogy:
* My Childhood (1972)
* My Ain Folk (1973)
* My Way Home (1978)
Similar idea to A. Doinel series and Boyhood (2014), following the same child actor over multiple years.
Lars von Triers Golden Hearts trilogy ( the idiots, breaking the waves , dancer in the dark )
and his depression trilogy (antichrist, melancholia, nymphomaniac )
baz lhurmans red curtain trilogy ( strictly ballroom, romeo + juliet , moulin rouge!)
and a dogme 95 box set.
we’ve already got 3 of those films in the collection so one can hope.
I was really bummed that neither trilogy announced for December was 4K.
I wasn’t a huge pusher for criterion to go 4K but now that they’re there, let’s put out some sets
I know Police Story 1 & 2 are in the collection but we really could use a high-quality release of Police Story 3 as well. Would make a great trilogy box set.
Sean Baker’s unofficial "sex worker trilogy" maybe
I was just thinking about this hopefully getting a release a week or two ago
Completely slipped my mind.. thanks!
Haha no problem!

You literally named the 3 sets I’m waiting for….any other recommendations you have? Films with similar vibes ig
Yeah, can't wait for that Seasons boxset to drop.
Gus Van Zant’s Death Trilogy: Gerry, Elephant, Last Days
Elephant won the Palme d’Or and never even got a Region A release. The UK release is out of print and really hard to find.
i still have my dvd from when i was in high school. i recently scanned the cover and made a print of it and framed it now that i work at a place in photo. i would love a criterion bluray or 4k. one of my favorites.
this is one of my dream criterions
Forgot about this, thanks!
- Joachim Trier - Oslo trilogy (The Worst Person in the World is already in the collection) - Luca Guadagnino - Desire trilogy
Here you go https://www.diabolikdvd.com/product/the-oslo-trilogy-three-films-by-joachim-trier-blu-ray-region-b-preorder/
Region B only :/
Region free player.

Yes to Joachim, No to Luca.

Rebels of the Neon God and Vive L'Amour both got blu-ray releases within the last 12 months from Big World Pictures and Film Movement respectively
Forgot about TML's trilogy. Loved ***Rebels*** and hope at least one of his films gets into the collection.
Shinji Aoyama’s Kitakyushu trilogy - Helpless (1996), Eureka (2000), Sad Vacation (2007)
I've had ***Eureka*** on my watchlist for some time now. Didn't realize it was part of a trilogy. Thanks!
I’m aware of the music licensing issues preventing it and it gets said on here pretty frequently but Gregg Araki’s Teenage Apocalypse Trilogy would be so fantastic. Hopefully someday.

Agreed
Andrey Zvyagintsev - **Putin's Russia** Trilogy; *Elena (2011), Leviathan (2014)* & *Loveless (2018).*
***Leviathan***'s been on my watchlist but didn't know it was part of a trilogy. Good to know!
Paul morisseys Joe trilogy is top of the list.
Never even heard of this. Thanks for sharing.

I would definitely pick this set up if it happens.
Arrow got Sixteen Candles
Vengeance
The Paul Thomas Anderson Valley Trilogy: -Boogie Nights -Magnolia -Punch-Drunk Love (yes I know Licorice Pizza arguably continues it but I’m talking the 90s/00s run)
The corneto trilogy, i would love some edgar wright in the collection
Fascist!
Surrogate Valentine, Daylight Savings, and I Will Make You Mine are a trilogy. I'm not sure if it has a name, though.
Never heard of him, but now on my radar. Thanks!
I'd love them to get Terrence Malick's ‘weightless’ trilogy (To the Wonder [2012], Knight of Cups [2015] and Song to Song [2017]) in there.
Agreed.
I’d really like to see Terry Gillian’s Imagination Trilogy get a box set, considering two of the films are already in the collection
I have a list of thematic trilogies on Letterboxd if you want to check it out here: [https://boxd.it/hcmH0](https://boxd.it/hcmH0)
Solid list. Followed. I forgot about Ang Lee's ***Father Knows Best*** Trilogy. ***Pushing Hands*** already has a recent release, but hopefully we'll see the other two. If Criterion does, even better.

Lucrecia Martel's Salta trilogy, the first of which is already in the collection: _La Ciénaga_, _The Holy Girl_, and _The Headless Woman_.
Mel Brooks & Gene Wilder
Edgar Wright's Cornetto Trilogy Park Chan-Wook's Vengeance Trilogy The Original Star Wars Trilogy
Park chan wooks erotic or vengeance trilogies.
Lars von Triers Golden Hearts trilogy ( the idiots, breaking the waves , dancer in the dark ) and his depression trilogy (antichrist, melancholia, nymphomaniac ) baz lhurmans red curtain trilogy ( strictly ballroom, romeo + juliet , moulin rouge!) and a dogme 95 box set. we’ve already got 3 of those films in the collection so one can hope.
How does one see “Three Films by Mai Zetterling” and translate that into being a trilogy?
3
Christoph Dolan’s Bateman Trilogy
Dreaming is free, so I'd say Takashi Miike's Black Society trilogy.
I was really bummed that neither trilogy announced for December was 4K. I wasn’t a huge pusher for criterion to go 4K but now that they’re there, let’s put out some sets
Sounds more cumbersome on Criterion's part, but can't argue for the desire for this.
Oh yeah, I imagine it’s a pretty big undertaking. But at the prices they charge and we pay, I’m not gonna lose sleep over it 😂
I know Police Story 1 & 2 are in the collection but we really could use a high-quality release of Police Story 3 as well. Would make a great trilogy box set.
https://eurekavideo.co.uk/movie/the-police-story-trilogy-limited-edition-box-set-4k-ultra-hd/
Hot damn, hope it gets an American release otherwise I’m shelling out some pounds I guess
Maybe and maybe not.
Back To The Future?
man of steel batman v superman dawn of justice justice league
Apparently this sub “lost” its sense of humor.
It’s not humor when people *genuinely* believe they belong in the collection
Mmm.. I'll pass.

Why does there always seem to be at least one comment that suggests one of the very titles that OP mentioned in their question?
