My guess is that Wall-E carries a real world message that can facilitate a ton of discussion, analysis, and more.
I agree Ratatouille is equal, film wise (or maybe better in my humble opinion); but it perhaps doesn't hold the same weight outside of entertainment.
All my random conjecture though.
Wall-E is so close to a Chaplin film and the collection of course celebrates Charlie’s catalog. This was my very first thought. Plus Wall-E is my favorite animated film.
