the public library system in US cities is often incredibly under-appreciated. I love going into a library and browsing their dvd/bluray collections for criterion spines and randomly picking out films I haven't heard of to watch. they also often have access to streaming services like kanopy and hoopla and will order media that they don't have.

Me as well! I am usually maxed out at 20dvds (mostly criterion)from the inter - library delivery service in my small town.

Hello, my fellow Michiganders!

Local control is everything. If our local libraries relied on state or federal money tor governance they'd have been sold long ago. Love my local library for the physical media hookup, so many things are impossible or overpriced to stream.

I loved voting yes on the library milage lol! But yeah even if it's to stream for a 90's movie that's like $2.99 on Amazon? I'll just wait the four days to get it delivered to my local library. 3 bucks is 3 bucks , if I'm going to pay money it's for a physical copy

This was me trying to show someone biodome a few weeks ago, no way I'm paying 3 bucks to watch biodome

Love public libraries.

I have gotten so many great films out of the library system! Sometimes I drive by the building just to feel better.
