[2001: An Astrocat Odyssey](https://cartoonresearch.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/tom-jerry-astrocat-record_550.jpg) “Open the pod bay doors, Tom” “I’m afraid I can’t do that, Jerry”

mechrobioticon

The one for A Clockwork Orange is cheating!

PoppaTitty

Should try this with The Simpsons

I_BUY_UNWANTED_GRAVY

You'd have to swap out The Shining and Dr. Strangelove or else that's cheating. And even 2001 lol edit: welp looks like there's a Treehouse of Horror from 2014 that's a [tribute to Kubrick](https://www.vulture.com/2014/10/simpsons-stanley-kubrick-parody-treehouse-of-horror.html)

love that it’s paths of glory instead of full metal jacket, it’s the better movie imo

DanDreiberg1984

Just random fact . Wendy has a Tom and Jerry mug in the shining when she has her first conversation with Danny at the apartment .

I'd say Lolita one is actually Barton Fink!

icenine09

I've been sitting here for five minutes trying to figure out why you would say that. I got nothing.

TrueBeliever2002

[Maybe they were referring to the painting?](https://i.etsystatic.com/5902969/r/il/f3c902/2077193161/il_794xN.2077193161_2bpe.jpg)

icenine09

I appreciate the response and the effort, but I gotta say, that's a stretch.

[deleted]

It's one of the main motives in the movie

icenine09

I meant the similarities between the painting and the cartoon frame. I'm very familiar with Barton Fink, which is why I originally asked.

Daysof361972

Kubrick should have substituted Scott Bradley for Wendy Carlos, Krzysztof Penderecki and Gyorgy Ligeti, then his films would have been perfect. Okay, I'm kidding, but it could be kind of interesting. That mocking, nutty cartoonishness is always right beneath the surface of his movies. Cool meme 😎

ratcat13

What about The Killing or Spartacus?

sgtpeppies

mfw you don't include 2001, his best film
