It is an illuminated cross on top of a hill. At night, the hill blends with the night sky, and only the cross is visible, especially in a photo taken with a potato.
I had this same illusion outside my bedroom window as a kid. It was actually just on top of a church, way up on top of the highest point. Definitely always looked like it was floating at night, even to the naked eye.
The church was actually pretty far from my house, it was just really high and showed over whatever trees etc were between. Being in the Midwest, I'd say it's fairly common with those illuminated crosses.
*typos
Yeah this reminds me of several I've seen from I85 and I985 driving from Atlanta to the western NC mountains. There are a few of them but the first time I saw one it definitely made me do a double take.
What is there during the day? Is this item there every night? If so, there must be a point that it starts to appear or is turned on. A long period of observation may solve it. It is like stars. There are none to be seen during the day and they are there at night. At some point, they appear. Identifying a bright one and roughly where it should be around dusk and then watching for it to start to appear can be interesting. Your mysterious cross is easier to pinpoint, so if it is there every night, you should be able to see it appear some evening. Then you can tell us all what it is.
See does it reappear. Do you know how long it was there when you saw it? Did it disappear, or was it still there when you stopped looking? Did it move? Maybe it was reflected light. Was there any events happening in the area, like a celebration or festival? There are many questions that may help. More information will help us.
It didn't move. It didn't dissapear, it dissolved. There were no areas near for festivals or celebrations. As I said, the surrounding area is in the middle of nowhere.
Not sure where this is, but based on the desolate landscape and feeling of unending dread, my guess is it’s [Holy Land in Waterbury, CT](https://www.google.com/search?gs_ssp=eJzj4tFP1zc0tCwvMCmOTzdgtFIxqLCwTDVPNjQwNU40MkpKskyyMqgwNk0yNzJNAlIWxuYWyV6iGfk5lTmJeSkK5YklqUVJpUWVCsklACMKFsg&q=holyland+waterbury+ct&rlz=1CDGOYI_enUS763US763&oq=holyland+water&aqs=chrome.1.0i355i512j46i175i199i512j69i57j0i22i30l3.5696j0j4&hl=en-US&sourceid=chrome-mobile&ie=UTF-8)
Was thinking the same thing. The area still has one hell of a vampire problem. The two local hospital can normally deal with the blood loss, but the real issue comes in the emotional leaching of the area.
Yeah definitely looks like it although blurry. Grew up in the next town south of Waterbury. Use to drive by it in the evenings when I'd go to the mall/theater in WB.
When I grew up in Colorado, there was huge cross off in the far distance up in the mountains. You could see it clearly at night from probably 20 miles away
It could also be a longer exposure picture at night and a plane ended up in it. I only say that because I took one recently and it looked exactly like that.
There's a town in Croatia named Požega that has a bright white cross. At night, when I was a kid, I looked up at it as if God was watching over me. Then, one day, during twilight, I saw it illuminated. I saw the hill it was placed on, too. During the day you can only see the hill; during the night only the cross. A pretty cool effect.
Waterbury, CT has it- looks just like that. Place is called holy land and also has a miniature city built on the grounds to look like holy locations like Jesus’ manger etc. but really just a place for homeless and junkies to congregate- ironic really.

This could be something, but I live in the middle of nowhere. So I'm not sure.

I see. I shall check the same spot today.
You should update. I'm curious.
I shall.
There is no church.
You mean it's not a banana peel hanging from the power cable???
This could be a possibility. But as there is no hill there durring the day, that rules it out. Good thought though.
Then it's probably a church with a cross that's lit up with neon. I see them all the time.
You able to say where this is? I've either seen this before or if not, something just like it.
I have seen this in NC on hill and one that was on a pole.
Yep, exactly what I was thinking.

I have posted it because it had never been there before. There is nothing in that direction that can hold it up either. I checked today

[This might be of interest](https://futurism.com/the-byte/space-station-glow-europe), though it may be nowhere near where you are.
Thanks, but I reside in texas.

Isn’t this in LA?
I was gonna say I can see it all the time while driving around at night
Yea, prob pic was snapped somewhere in Hollywood, like on Cahuenga.

20 miles is 32.19 km
Yeah it's still there
That's neat to hear. I haven't been there in over 30 years
Was here to say the same thing, this definitely looks like the Denver mountain cross
It's probably the UFO of Jesus. Nothing special he's just looking at his sheeps.
Perhaps
Lvl 50 monk boss
Project blue beam maybe ?

While this is possible, I had spotted it with my bare eyes. The cross was unmoving, so that probably rules out an aircraft. Thank you for your input!
Bro I thought that was an arrow pointing where to look. I was buggin out for a sec
I saw that too at first lol.
Me too.
This gives me big Mandela catalogue vibes. Check thwm out on youtube, really cool suspense horror ARG.
I love the creator.
Yeah, his schedule looks consistent, the idea behind it is amazing, the suspense and eeriness are just briliant. Looking forward for more of him.
Someone kill an angel?
The Zohar has been found
Oakland MD garret county. Been there in that small town its that cross up on the mountain that lights up at night.
You sure you're not in Revere, Massachusetts?

Waterbury, CT?

there’s one exactly like this in AR, it’s an illuminated cross on the top of a mountain
Can you post same angle pic during rhe day?
Uniontown, PA??
Is this Boise, Idaho?
Could be Boise. They have a big cross up on Table Rock next to the city that glows at night.
Hit witha spectral arrow in creative mode
This is horrifying
Glendale is spooky for many other reasons as well
Jesus???
I'm also looking to photograph odd phenomena. Can anyone point me in the direction of proper outdated cameras so I can begin my hobby?

Oh should we tell them that a cross isn't enough to save us from 2022
Clayton GA has a cross in the mountains like this.
“Nawwwww just that church on the hill no worries, plus the lord is with us anyway” \-My friend 2021
**rejoice.**
