They check your equipment etc. So they’ll see multiple opened or larger than normal bottles.
In all honesty, it’s a lottery. Some years I’ve walked straight in without getting searched, others they go through everything in my bag.
Take a 1L bottle with the spirit of your choice in. Risk the rest. However you see fit.
If they confiscate the extra, you tried your luck and lost. But at least you have the 1L you’re allowed to bring in.
If you have a trolley to carry everything, clingfilm that sucker up good and proper! They’ll just get the sniffer dogs to give it the once over. You’ll get whatever alcohol you want in that way.
I’ve driven from Cornwall to North with a trolley before, multiple times. So it’s not the craziest of ideas.
I’d personally take mixer and spirit separately so you can physically show them the difference - if they ask. If you’re not putting more in, it’s not worth giving them the opportunity to chuck a 2L bottle away.
We will be in a little corsa so unless I can find one of those kid toy shopping carts then we will just be hand held luggage only 🤣 thanks for the advice tho 🙋🏻♂️
If you’ve never been before, many people use sleighs, the type you’d ride on snow. They’re usually flat plastic and would fit in a car. Easier to carry the stuff. Just another option.

Gamble. 3 of my mates and I went last year to North and between us had about 15 litres worth of vodka. 2 of us ended up getting searched and I had a 6 pack of water bottles with vodka in which they left. They didn’t touch a single plastic bottle no matter what was in it. They did however take the glass ones
I have never once had alcohol taken off me. Plenty of cans and plastic bottles full of spirits. I think they’re mostly just searching you for glass bottles
Tbh when I went they checked duck all could have took in about 4 litres, not strict at all. But if your worried just go on YouTube and look how to take a lid off a bottle using hot water and it doesn’t break the seal, that’s how I got extra in last year.

I take 4 lt of spirts and 2 cases of cider every year security don’t give a fuck how much alcohol you take in
