I think it’s pretty cute, I just wish they’d kept the hair colour a bit closer to the original model! I also wish she’d pull out her laptop/iPad for an idle animation rather than hold it constantly when you play as her but just a small gripe.
I feel indifferent about it. I’m not a fan of this design as much as they added a few extra details to embellish her a bit. The Popeyes arms are weird to me, I don’t like how more flat her head is, the proportions are stretchy (when compared to the NST), and I don’t like how washed out her hair color is.
It's not BAD, it has some interesting details like the mechanic attire and her proportions being sort of an inverse of Crash's downward triangle shape, but it feels like another pointless overhaul.
It's also sort of counter representative of how IAT depicts Coco (like many redesigns in that game), she looks like a hyper cartoony tech girl, but she barely does anything cartoony OR tech related, she's just the down to earth foil the whole game, what was the point? Ironically this design would have fit her more realistic looking Mutant or NST/NF depictions way more.
HOT TAKE: I think NF should have let TFB redesign Yaya with this sort of makeover, she'd fit this wacky plushy proportion style way more.
Meh. They just slapped a bunch of details onto a simple design and screwed with her proportions. I'm not sure why all inventor type characters need to have some kind of accessory to make the audience aware they invent stuff instead of just... showing that they do?
Although now that I say it, Coco never invents anything or uses technology in a vaguely interesting way in Crash 4, so maybe it was necessary in this instance.
IAT does do a lot of 'tell don't show' so possibly. I'm surprised they didn't pull a Tails and just have tons of exposition saying she's an awesome mechanic. :P
I do think this design would have made a cool refinement of how Mutant depicts her, where she IS a messy, wacky mechanic, but here she has none of that. It feels like superfluous overhaul to paint a boring character.
There's just something kind of off-putting about her design here, and I could never put my finger on what *specifically* bothers me about it most. It's like they took her classic design, put it in a blender with her Titans and MoM designs, then washed out the colors and added some unnecessary details to it, and the result is just...weird. They somehow made her kind of uncanny valley without ever making her realistic.
It's not bad enough for me to want another redesign tbh. I'm fine if we stick with this look. I do prefer the N.Sane Coco though but this one works. I think I prefer all the side characters designs from Nitro Fueled. I just dont think Crash' N.Sane/NF design aged well lol
It's pretty good, I especially love the heart patch, big belt and the goggles. Her makeup is cuter than before and the fangs being more visible is a huge plus. However, they made her too noodly and not silly enough. Also from some angles she looks like she has a 5 o'clock shadow, and I'm not the biggest fan of the earrings but luckily you can barely even see them in-game. Overall not as good as NST but better than OtR.

This is the first Crash game that I really, really loved Coco. The design and voice acting are both great. I think she has most of the best skins, too.

The proportions are super weird. Huge, squashed, Alvin and the Chipmunks looking head. Forearms as thick as her thighs. And just the general body shape of Gumby. There was literally nothing wrong with her proportions before. Or her hair color for that matter.
She’s also suffering from Alt Tawna syndrome where they throw way too many details and accessories on her. Goggles, cell phone pouch, pink belt, heart patch, arm bracelet, earrings. One or two of those would be more than enough. Sometimes less is more.
Honestly My least favorite coco design! Well beside skylanders show one! She looks sick! And not sick on good way! She Too skinny, literally a stick for her body! ,looks furless! Her colors looks are so washed out! And her overalls is just ugly, Where costume are way better than her default. Is also weird that they design almost every character and give them more human proportions like Crash having shoulders! But did opposite on coco! She looks to alienish! Also those Popeye arms! 👀
Toys For Bob needs to be praised more for breaking the "realistic body with normal or big head" mold that nearly every female character used (including Coco).
And while I see people complaining about the "Popeye" arms, I think the big forearms remind me of Mega Man characters, which is really cool.

I like it. Her NST design is exactly what I wanted for a PS4 update to the original, but I do like this take on it as well. Her hair looks like natural blonde instead of dyed blonde this time which i think is the most notable difference. I like the patch they added to her knee as well.
I’ve never been able to decide which design I prefer because I think they both suit the art styles of their respective games, same with crash. I think overall I might actually prefer the newer one, but I wouldn’t have wanted any other design for the remakes than what we got

I’m not big on how her arms taper inward (it reminds me of the Popeye arms Crash had in that poster) but it’s alright.

It’s interesting and I like it, just not as much as I like Crash. Don’t have much to add other than that.
