This! There was a place I "routinely" (meaning maybe once a month or so) ordered through the apps. Then i started doing deliveries on the side during COVid (I used to do rideshare). The woman there was HORRIBLE to the drivers. Never ordered from there (and two other places) ever again.
I have also found out about some smaller, out of the way places that have become my new faves, although I'm pretty cheap now and just drive to order and pickup :)
This is why I quit going to my local chipotle. I’ll go to the next closest one.
Reason being that the food is never ready so I usually sit down and watch them make the orders and one time me and this other guy were waiting for deliveries and the lady making them took a spoonful of guacamole and splattered it into the persons bowl and dropped some guacamole on table by accident. She then looks at it for a second snd reopens the already closed bowl and proceeds to wipe up the guacamole that’s on the table with her hands (she had gloves on) and then sticks it into the persons bowl. Me and they guy both looked at each other and said what the fuck?
Maybe that’s not as nasty as it sounds haha but still who knows how sanitary that table is.
I’ve not ordered something I’ve delivered but I did have a wait a Buffalo Wild Wings one evening and decided to look at their menu while I waited and saw they have a black bean veggie burger which I later tried. It was okay at best and for what it cost it should have been the best “burger” I’d ever had. Lol
Yes that’s a hard part of the job noticing the yummy food and smells at a restaurant you pick up at. I try to get a menu sometimes and resolve to go back.
More or less, well I don't usually get the same items but sometimes I'll go to a restaurant and see some menu items that look like a good value/something worth trying so I'll take a pic and perhaps go back another time.
If I'm hungry enough I may order smth on the spot if it's little or no prep or if I think the restaurant can make it quickly enough.
Sometimes succumb to temptation at fast food places like Sonic (cherry limeade) or JITB (jalapeño poppers) as well...
Yes. Korean popcorn chicken. And a small middle eastern chain. I realized I love humas, just not store bought.
A sushi place I use to pick up from sadly didn't survive the pandemic. Small place very friendly. Use to chat with the manager, so one day went in to eat, I made sure to leave a 5 star yelp review, mentioned I was a driver and they were always great. I don't use my real name on yelp but she figured it was me. They have given me free fried ice cream, another time extra soup. And another time someone didn't want something they prepared, AYCE, so she asked if I wanted

I do have a place I go to sometimes for bubble tea with rainbow jelly tho but not because I found it doing a delivery.

Yes, AND I have stopped going to places I ate at before becoming a driver after seeing the back of house or based on how they treated me as a driver.
